Summer of 2026 Movies 07.07.2026

Holy fuck, movies are back, baby! Get to the theater and buy a ridiculous collectable popcorn bucket, because we're gonna talk all about the other movies we've been seeing this summer!

Disclosure Day 23.06.2026

It's certainly a movie, and we all saw it! None of us thought it was bad, per se? And there are definitely some godless topics to discuss from the movie, as well. Is it a Spielberg masterpiece? No, but the score is by John Williams, so it's got that going for it. We obviously spoil this one, but if you've seen the trailer you basically already know everything in store for you.

CONvergence 2026 09.06.2026

HOLY SHIT IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN! Or, it will be soon, at least. Hopefully we'll see some of your geeks in Minneapolis this July 4th weekend for some nerdy fun! We'll be there for the podcast's birthday, to record a live episode at our panel, and a whole bunch of other performances and places to check us out! We talk all about what's ahead at #CVG2026!

The Sheep Detectives 26.05.2026

I hope you like sheep puns and adorableness, because that's what you're getting with this one. I think we were all a bit surprised by some of the religious/atheist themes or observations in this one, even with Molly having read the source material (Three Bags Full). What did you think? Take a listen to this episode about The Sheep Detectives!

Project Hail Mary 12.05.2026

tl;dr - we loved it! Spoilers ahead for the book and movie, though it's a great adaptation and they're pretty close. Listen to us talk about how charming we all find Ryan Gosling and lament about what a wiener Ryland Grace is in the book. Enjoy!

The Pitt 28.04.2026

We need a new episode, STAT! Quick, overwork yourself and confront the horrors of the US Medical and insurance industry! Or, sit back and listen to this fresh episode about HBO's medical drama: The Pitt! Even Tim and Nick who don't typically care for the genre love this show. Why? We talk all about it in this episode! Enjoy!

Homunculus Boners 25.03.2026

Welcome to a new Geeky Boners episode! For those new to the podcast, we record these episodes every now and again to talk about the latest stuff that has our inner nerds all excited. Maybe you'll learn about a new show or game you'd enjoy. Or maybe Tim will just talk about LEGO. Maybe both. Guess what we talk about in this episode?

Post Truth Society 25.03.2026

This week we have our friend Michael Sturm join us to talk about how we navigate the concept of a post truth society. Of course part of what we discuss has to do with AI that stands in for reality but we also consider the concept of an administration that lies so often and so easily, does it matter if we tell the truth to counter it? Does the truth even matter any more? Hard questions get asked an...

2026 Preview 25.03.2026

Hey y'all - the world is tough. We know that we can't spend 100% of our time fighting fascism so we are going to let ourselves be geeks for a little bit and talk about what media is scheduled to come out in 2026 that can keep all of us distracted for a little while. Then we'll pick up our signs and get back to it!

Fuck ICE 25.03.2026

This week we are talking about the continuing occupation of Minnesota by ICE agents. We don't know what you've read or seen but we are talking about first hand experiences as we are in the middle of it here. While we recorded this episode a little while ago, we want you all to know it is still happening and our friends and neighbors continue to be targeted. Fuck ICE.

Wake Up Dead Man 25.03.2026

This week we are taking a look at the third installment in the Knives Out film franchise - "Wake Up Dead Man!" Daniel Craig returns as Benoit Blanc to solve the mystery of a murdered priest. There is a whole lot of religion in this movie and that makes it even more on topic for us to talk about on this podcast! How do we feel about the religion? You'll have to listen to find out! But beware! There...

Resolutions 25.03.2026

It is the beginning of a new year and one of the traditions many of us follow is the creation of New Year's Resolutions. Are they worth it? Do they help? We talk about some of our choices when it comes to resolutions and how we feel about the whole concept that surrounds them.

So Long 2025 25.03.2026

Year end review in life; business. chalkboard writing and preparing for new year resolutions[/caption]Well here it is, the end of 2025! If you squint, you can find some positive things that happened in the last year so we squinted and did a year in review that covers some of our favorite media and our favorite podcast episodes. Let's all hope that 2026 is filled with some really good things beyond...

The Season of Giving 25.03.2026

It's the holiday season and we all know what that means - bell ringers at every supermarket trying to guilt you into giving money to the Salvation Army! Well don't. They are still as homophobic as they always were and they do things like Mission trips to third world countries. We use this episode to remind you that there are a lot of other ways you can give to your fellow humans during this season...

Dead Media 25.03.2026

his week we are joined once again by our friend Joseph Scrimshaw. Joseph has just finished writing, directing, producing and editing his first feature film - Dead Media ! We had the opportunity to attend the premiere and now have a chance to sit down with Joseph and talk to him about the creation of the film. He's still working on distribution rights so, in an unusual first for us, we are NOT spoi...

Omegacon 2025 25.03.2026

As is our tradition, we recorded an episode about OmegaCon, which is a little relxacon the three of us attend in Siren Wisconsin every year. There is typically a lot of tabletop gaming at the con so we are doing a review of the games we played reviewing which we enjoyed and which maybe needed a little more work. Spoiler: Discount Salmon needed a little more work.

D(e)ad 25.03.2026

This week we are talking about an independently produced film we have no idea how you could possibly see! The film, D(e)ad was created by Izzy Roland. The film features Roland, a lot of members of their family, and a bunch of comedians from Dropout TV and is a surprisingly heartfelt comedy about loss and coming to terms with difficult family members. We recommend you figure out how to watch it!

The Riyadh Comedy Festival 25.03.2026

This week's episode takes a look at the Riyadh Comedy Festival. A whole bunch of comedians got paid a lot of money to perform at this festival, which had some pretty serious limits on what kind of jokes they could tell. Of course, it raised the same old questions about what comedians can and cannot tell jokes about although that is really more about what they should and should not tell jokes about...

Resilience and Resistance in a Time of Fascism 25.03.2026

We get a bonus helping to Tony Miller this week! He sits down to talk about resilience and resistance in a time of fascism. The world we live in can be exhausting. How do we keep going and find the energy not only to simply exist but to continue resisting? We talk about what we are doing to keep ourselves focused and fighting. Tony also brings us five questions!

Trinket Trading 25.03.2026

We are excited to be joined by Tony Miller this week! Tony is a Renaissance Festival circuit performer and Trinket Trading has become a big thing at Festivals these days. How do performers like Tim and Tony deal with the explosion of baubles that people sometimes think are a reasonable exchange for services instead of - you know - money?

Oobleboners 25.03.2026

It's time for us to look at our boners once more and you can join in! This week we are taking a look at a couple of video games that have us super excited. Tim's boner is pretty old, as is to be expected. Molly's is a lot newer. Nick is excited about an Anime/Manga romance, which is about as unexpected as you might imagine.

Andor Season 2 25.03.2026

This week we take an in depth and spoiler filled look at "Andor Season 2!" The latest Star Wars series on Disney Plus might not be quite as great as Season 1 because it feels like they tried to get too much done in a single season but it still pretty darn good. Listen to our hot takes!

Fantastic Four First Steps 25.03.2026

Hey - another episode about a super hero movie! This time we are talking about Fantastic Four: First Steps. If you have super-hero fatigue, we totally get it. We still think this is one of the better installments in the MCU and about as good a Fantastic Four movie that isn't "The Incredibles" as you are going to get! Spoilers a-plenty are in this episode so watch the movie first if you care about...

Superman 25.03.2026

All right friends! This week we are going to be talking about the new Superman film directed by James Gunn. While our resident DC apologist Ronn Bauman is not available, we all give the film a glowing review as one of the best depictions of Superman in the movies. Also, some doggie treats for Krypto as well! This is a spoiler filled episode so beware!

Generative AI 25.03.2026

This week's episode was recorded live at CONvergence 2025 and featured two fantastic Guests. Dave Rand-McKay and Lee Harris joined us to talk about Generative AI in their workplace and in the world at Large. Dave works as a professor of Geography and Lee is an Editor with Tor Books. We all talk about our encounters with AI both positive and negative and it is super interesting!
