Who was the kingdom taken from and why? To whom was it given?

Why are God's chosen people in such a cursed condition today?

Hearing faithful preaching is a gift from God but carries with it a very sober accountability. One of God's means of judging rejection of previous light of the truth is removing future occasions of understanding the truth. Jesus's stated reason for utilizing parables emphasizes this reality.

What were the roots of the problems of the church in Corinth? The apostle didn't just issue commands to change their behavior, but started his correction with reestablishing the role of the gospel in contrast to the world, the uniqueness of the local church as God's holy temple in the community.

Many religious professors are like the fig tree Jesus encountered that had leaves but no fruit. No amount of religious privilege and position qualifies a man for heaven and no sin, when repented of, will keep a man out of heaven.

The Lord commissioned the 12 by telling them in part that persecution was inevitable, but that the gospel would advance through in, not in spite of it. He finished with giving truth to strengthen their hearts against fear.
