ELECSOUL PRESENTED BY DJ ROBBIE DUNCAN

ElecSoul Aqua Libra Soul, global grooves, disco and deep house. The title felt right for a mix that balances different sounds and moods while keeping the groove flowing. Thanks for listening ElecSoul is about following the connections between music, culture and everyday life finding the links between sounds that might initially seem worlds apart. Thanks for spending some time with Aqua Libra. I ho...

ElecSoul — Autumn 🍂 Soulful, melodic sounds, deep grooves and musical connections Welcome back to ElecSoul. This autumn’s selection moves between soulful house, jazz, broken beat, hip-hop, Afro-electronic rhythms and deeper, more hypnotic sounds. As always, it’s about following the connections between different musical worlds and letting the records tell their own stories. A few personal connecti...

ELECSOUL — SOULFUL & MELODIC This week’s ElecSoul is a soulful and melodic mini mix of warm grooves, deep rhythms and uplifting sounds, moving between soul, house, jazz-infused electronics and a few unexpected turns. A short journey through some records I’ve been enjoying lately. ElecSoul — where the beat meets the soul. www.djrobbieduncan.com/elecsoul

The lovely team at The Sub Rooms invited me down to lace up a gorgeous 15-minute mini-mix ahead of my return to Stroud Shindig on Saturday 14 November. A little snapshot of the soulful, deep and uplifting grooves I’ll be bringing to the dancefloor. The full-length mix is now part of the ElecSoul journey and, in their words, “a guaranteed mood elevator!” Recorded at The Sub Rooms, Stroud. ElecSoul...

Welcome back to ElecSoul. This is Combinations & Inspirational Ideas Show Two, the second part of a couple of shows where, rather than following a particular genre, era or scene, I’ve been thinking about the connections between things. Full track list at www.djrobbieduncan.com/elecsoul

Welcome to COMBINATIONS & INSPIRATIONAL IDEAS – Show 1 of 2. Over the next two weeks I'm taking a slightly different approach. Think of these as road-trip mixes with less talking, more music, giving us all a chance to get lost in the journey over the summer.

imagine you're heading for the coast, exploring somewhere new or simply enjoying a drive with the windows down, these mixes are designed to...

Cover Artwork – Waiting, Anticipating The artwork for this week's ElecSoul episode was captured at Scriptum Fine Stationery in Oxford, December 2025. Among the beautifully curated displays of handmade stationery and artistic objects were these wonderfully crafted puppets, suspended from the ceiling seemingly caught in a moment between movement and stillness. Music in this show from Larry Heard’s t...

The heatwave has returned to the UK and hit us hard this week, hence the name of this week's show: SWELTER. Episode artwork was taken during our trip to the Alhambra, which was probably the first time we experienced truly sweltering temperatures (around 40°C). Tracks featured in this week's show include a couple of interesting selections from my music library: Natural Vaudou – Vaudou Game, Calle F...

As always, this isn't about chasing the latest trends it's about sharing records that move me and, hopefully, move you too. Whether you're listening on your morning commute, relaxing at home or finding your own space on the dancefloor, I hope this selection brings a little joy to your day. Full track listing and previous shows are available at www.djrobbieduncan.com/elecsoul

This week's selection takes its name from the beautiful collaboration between Terrace Martin and Robert Glasper, No Wrong No Right. To me, the title encourages a feeling of simply trying things and going with the flow of life. With that thought in mind, the opening records in this show could almost be interpreted as futuristic for their time. Listening back to Mass Production's Galaxy and George D...

This week's selection is called AM Blues — a soundtrack for slow starts, unexpected journeys and the memories that certain records can unlock years later. Full show notes www.djrobbieduncan.com/elecsoul

ElecSoul Deeper Than You Know This week's ElecSoul journey drifts through soul, jazz-funk, deep house and disco, connecting timeless classics with contemporary underground sounds. I captured the Isaac Hayes track directly from the original cassette album, which was great fun and brought back a lot of memories. A big thank you to Ray Juss for inspiring me to dig back through my old cassette collect...

I've called this one Freedom Suite as it's a straight through mix for sunshine vibes where ever you are. Full track list available to djrobbieduncan.com/elecsoul Come over and I'll see you there!

This week’s show is called SOOFLE. Soofle is a highly influential early French deep house and techno project formed in 1993 by legendary electronic producers Ludovic Navarre (best known as St Germain) and Shazz. I’m genuinely happy right now. The sunshine is finally out, and after nearly six years of building, shifting and refining ElecSoul, the studio setup finally feels how I want it to feel… or...

MOVE ON UP Soulful movement through jazz, deep house and Detroit-rooted electronics. From Brian Jackson to Jeff Mills, Cameo and more. Full track information at https://djrobbieduncan.com/elecsoul/blog/7767629/move-on-up

This week it's a mixtape show. I'll back on the mic next week for a catch up call. OWN IT. A DJ mix moving through soul, jazz, broken beat, deep house and techno. This set is about trusting my sound and letting different energies sit together naturally, from warm, soulful moments into deeper, more driving club spaces. No forcing it, just letting the music lead. Featuring music from Eli Escobar, Cr...

This week’s show is a reflection on Friday at the Brick Lane Jazz Festival a snapshot of a scene that continues to evolve, blending jazz, soul, broken beat and club sounds into something genuinely forward facing.

The live element is key. anaiis alongside Grupo Cosmo captures that improvisational spirit. A Friday that felt very special. I also made it down to the Music Is Black Exhibition at V&A E...

This week’s show, Turning Tables, moves through soul, jazz, broken beat and smooth club sounds. I’m flipping between past and present, originals and reworks as per usual. Opening with Allysha Joy, whose work continues to sit at that intersection of jazz, soul and spiritual expression. There’s a reimagined song by Emmavie, before moving into her own Dropping Keys, full of warmth, Ooh and have a bea...

Show opens with a sense of purpose. Brian Owens & The Royal Five set the tone with a message-led warmth, before Loose Ends bring that unmistakable UK soul feel. I recently spent some time with Paula Rego’s work at an exhibition in Cheltenham. There’s something about the way her illustrations and way she twists narratives of the traditional nursery rhymes. At the same time, I’ve been revisiting How...

This week’s show, SKIES, sits somewhere between uplift and reflection. I found myself going down a bit of a historical rabbit hole learning about Haile Selassie and his time in Bath. There’s something powerful about imagining that moment an emperor in exile, moving through the same streets and spaces we pass through now. Bath Skyline

Closer to the present, we spent time walking the Bath Skyline W...

This show is a personal one. My mum passed away at Easter in 2016 after a long battle with vascular dementia following a stroke. Alongside my sister, I became one of her principal caregivers for nearly 10 years from those early days of recovery through to her later diagnosis. Throughout it all, Mum held onto something powerful: a willingness to try new things, and a focus on what she could still d...

Friday 27 March 2026: This week’s episode leans into a soulful, percussive space drifting between broken beat, house, jazz, and deeper club textures. It’s one of those selections that came together quite naturally, starting in a more introspective place before opening out into something a bit more expansive and rhythm-led. Tracklist: Farah Audhali & Blue Lab Beats – Found You Nicholas Payton – Gol...
