Dead Ends

In an extremely exciting week an Neptune, we're left scratching our head at the Logan - Parker scenario. Why didn't Mac step in? And how did Logan know Veronica was in jail? We also bid farewell to a longstanding character and wonder why their exit wasn't more impactful. Surprise! A not annoying child actor! We talk up Logan's new friend Heather and the parallels between her behavior & Emily's. We also discuss basketball terminology, Keith's on again, off again investigation and the open ended case of the week. This week's episode provokes a long discussion on women's agency & sexuality especially around the show's treatment of Bonnie & Veronica's jealousy. The episode is also weirdly pro-life? There's  a lot to dig into here and that's even before we remember that Keith had other things going on too. Theme Music from https://filmmusic.io"Inspired" by Kevin...

The audacity of men continues unabated with our new friend Max looking to rescue a damsel, Wendy. All of the characters act horrible to her but we never get to hear about her motivations? It's very messy and we dig into our friction over the show's depictions of sex work. Things don't fair any better for Veronica and Logan, as we get hidden secrets and overall bad vibes from the pai...

While some of us have negative opinions on monkeys, we can all agree that they deserve to have a happy life as well. This week we get the return of Mac (!) and a new love interest, Veronica chases after animals, and Piz receives the most mixed of signals. We only wish for the best for Piz! Big reveals this week, but the execution leaves us scratching our heads and more than a little concerned on handling of such a sensitive topic. Elsewhere we celebrate Piz's big radio show win, the Dean's bad news, and country music songs about taking revenge on cheating men. Onwards to a new mystery! Our worst fears are realized when the show drops a truly horrible reveal at the tail end of the episode. It's not all bad though as we sift through a clunker to bring you details on Patty Hearst, prank phone calls with Lamb, and our thoughts on the book Holes. Veronica is feeling let down by all the men in her life and we overwhelmingly concur. This week we get Veronica lashing out at all the women around her, Logan refusing to open up and Piz just being a good dude. Also the return of Vinny! We're saddled with an extremely problematic opening and overall dud of an episode this week. We discuss the show's bad depiction of false rape accusations and other examples of false sexual assault in media. Then we steer toward the more light-hearted plot points of school vs sports, bowling, and Keith's crush. Theme Music from https://filmmusic.io"Inspired" by Kevin MacLe...

Veronica starts so strong with her criminology speech only to immediately ignore her own lessons. While Veronica backslides into old profiling habits, Keith gets swindled, and Wallace in stuck in the world's most boring subplot. Who wouldn't help a dying kid with their bone marrow? We have a busy week in Neptune! Logan's money is wandering away, the Pi Sigs are being put on trial, and Keith gets an intriguing new client. We've also got a politics minute up at the top to celebrate the new president elect! We cannot be more proud of our new friend Piz and his exciting new talk radio program. No one deserves it more. Elsewhere, we meet an immediately recognizable football player & his girlfriend who understands just how awful college sports are. Also Logan picks fights with Veronica in various locations across the Hearst campus. Theme Music from https://filmmusic.io"Inspired" by Kevin M...

We've got an extra long episode this week to discuss Veronica's adventures in the Greek system. We discuss personal experiences with sororities, the dichotomies of college groups, sociology student abuse, and being taught by Philip Zimbardo. CW: Sexual Assault & Rape We're planting our flag in the ground now, we're pro Piz over here (for now). We're tentatively excited for our new semester at college with new friends and relationship dynamics. We're also extremely wary over the rape & sexual assault content of this episode and the general direction this season is heading in. Anything can happen! Theme Music...

We've reached the end of season 2 and we have a lot of thoughts. We discuss our disappointment with the finale, the misuse of sexual abuse tropes, & Beaver's bond villain turn. We wrap things up on a positive note and discuss our favorite season 2 episodes, characters, & character relationships! We'll see you all next week in college! The trial of the century begins and everyones bad decisions come home to roost. Witness Aaron Echolls worm his way into our heroes' head, Terrence's new job, and rekindled romance over algebra. We're only one away from the finale! Theme Music from https://filmmusic.io"Inspired" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com)License: CC By (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by...

Join us at the Neptune Grand for a fake prom night for the ages! We have creepy stalkers, bad mayors, and Keith going above and beyond to solve the mystery. We also have love rekindling and the utterance of the "epic" line. We call in the PCH fixer for a doozy of an episode. Veronica looks into a classmate's hit and run that has proximity to the Fitzpatrick's, Wallace says all of the wrong things, and Weevil gets roped into one last job. We also squeeze in some stories of landline calls and listening to other people's conversations and dedicated yearbook pages to student cars. Theme Music from https://...

We're back, but definitely not in Neptune. As Veronica battles through the Black Lodge, we get buckets of exposition and forward plot movement. Meanwhile, Keith guest stars on his own show and Wallace and Logan get some quality time. We're very here for Wallace in best friend mode! Veronica Mars is officially firing on all cylinders. This week brings us cautionary tales of masculinity and plenty of plot developments! While we take plenty of time celebrate Jackie we also discuss Gen Z on Tik Tok, guy's filmographies (and Brenton's by proxy), & our middle school dance memories. A visit to Hearst College for the weekend brings in unexpected guest stars! Meanwhile Keith and Cliff embark on a dream team up to solve the mystery of Cliff's one night rendezvous. We discuss these exciting happenings amongst the finer points of Michael Cera's filmography, our love of Arrested Development, getting mono, and political internships. Theme Music from https://filmmusic.io&qu...

A Big Lebowski esque chain of events has Veronica searching all over town for a missing men's underwear stealer. Meanwhile, Keith tries to do the right thing, Brenton fails sorority recruitment and we try to decipher to complex layout and sleeping arrangement of Logan's hotel room. If the opening recap is anything to go by, things are starting to move quick! Theme Music from https://film...

Pizza muggings & LGBTQ student blackmailing, all part of a convoluted plot from one ex-Laguna Beach cast member. We discuss the intense plot plus the appearance of one Kristin Cavallari, fond memories of stoners delivering pizzas, & why Emily should be the only one allowed to gamble with Brenton's money. We head to the Neptune High Winter Carnival for one hell of a bottle episode. Meanwhile Logan seems to be in his own separate show? It wouldn't be a podcast without us fitting in some side conversation on high school senior nights, baseball & dippin' dots in baseball hats, & writing our own fan fic based on a small detail of Keith's past employment. Theme Music from https://...

Wallace is back, but he's landed himself in hot water. Will he be able to convince the second coming of Lebron James to not send him to jail? Meanwhile Weevil & Logan investigate the PCHers and make us wonder what a relationship between them would look like. We also find time for pletny of Catholic talk, lipstick names, school lunchtime habits, & superstitions. Theme Music from https:...
