third part of a series

Today, join us as we see Isaac get his wife. We will look at a man who is faithful to the mission God gave him and what we can learn from this. We see a woman who doesn't need all the fanfare to be obedient. Great messages for us as we serve our Lord.

A Wife for Isaac, Pt. 1

As we continue through Genesis we will see the foreshadowing of the substitutionary atonement that saves us all. We will look at the story of Abraham being asked to sacrifice his son and how even though he was willing, God provided a sacrifice for himself. There are a lot of great lessons in here about faith and sacrifice.

Continuing our study in Genesis, Abraham and Abimilech make a treaty, but before they do there are some concerns they need to clear up. When we have problems with someone, do we deal with the issue completely, or do we still hold back some grudges? In a message titled "Laying it all on the Table" we will look at how the Bible says we are to deal with disputes and resolve them completely.

Abraham and Sarah have made some mistakes along the way in life, as we all have. Today as we study Genesis 21, we will look at the birth of Isaac and how they are supposed to deal with Ishmael now that the son of promise is here.

This morning we see Abraham goes into Merar and once again decides to lie about Sarah being his sister. He actually explains why and it's an important lesson for us; all about assuming the worst of others. Join us as study Genesis chapter 20 and grown through Gods word together.

Lot is fleeing sin, but is he really? where is he going to?

What was the sin that caused the Lord to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah? It wasn't the just a sin, but the over-whelming evilness at practice in all levels of society. Why was Lot not effective in transforming the society in which he lived, so that when the he took a stand he was considered a hypocrite?

In Genesis 18 we discuss Sarah's lack of faith; what was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah; and are we able to change God's mind as it appears that Abraham did with God?

During this week's sermon we explore the second half of chapter 17. Troy examines the blessing that is given to Sarai. Then he looks at who is to be the child of the Promise. And finally we look at Abraham's response to the Promise.

What is the nature of the covenant God made with Abraham?

Sarai takes God's promise of descendants into her own hands? What happened when we try to force God's promises?

God promises a to Abram a shield, an heir, and a covenant. None of the promises are dependent on Abrams actions. How does this apply to us?

Look around at where you are. Don't be lured to grass that is greener. Because the grace that is greener is almost always sin.

What does it mean to live with God's Love? How are we to act? How do we allow His Divine Love to flow in our lives?

Abram demonstrates our human behavior when things get tough; we fall back into what is easy, which usually means sin.

How are we to respond to the sin of others? Are we to cast stones and mock the sin like Ham? Or are we to respond like Shem and Japheth and cover the disgrace?

What happened in Genesis 8? God remembered man; He dried out the flood; Noah waited for the Lord to release him to leave the Ark; God made a covenant with Man. Troy discusses how these things should effect our lives.

Today Troy discussed the boarding of the Ark. Who went aboard? Who did not? Where did the waters for the flood come from? Who and what was blotted out?
