Paul warned the church to beware of the dogs, teachers who insist that right standing with God comes by the effort of the flesh. The sound of the Law is like an angry dog: fear, pain, and never enough. The sound of grace is the opposite, warm and inviting and irresistible to the thirsty soul. True worship puts no confidence in the flesh and all of it in Christ.
