Bat-Signals From the Multiverse

🦇📡 Three comics. Three different worlds. One unexpected favorite! Welcome back to Bat-Signals Comic Club , where we discover comics worth reading, discovering, and talking about! This week, I'm diving into three comics with honest first-read reactions, a little commentary along the way, and one surprising winner. 📖 Wolverine: Paradise — Wolverine on vacation? I wasn't sold. But throw Da...

Street Fighter is a 2/10 movie… and I absolutely LOVED IT! 😂🥊 I just walked out of Street Fighter, and I had an absolute blast! Is it a great movie? Nope. Does it need to be? Absolutely not! From Ken and Ryu to M. Bison, Blanka, and a cast featuring WWE stars, this movie had me laughing like a kid again. My 17-year-old daughter? Let's just say she didn't quite share my enthusiasm. Someti...

A $6.66 blind bag just stole the Bat-Signal! 🦇📡 Welcome to the very first episode of Bat-Signals Comic Club! A place for comics worth reading, discovering, and talking about. This week, we're diving into FOUR comics: 📖 The Terminal #2 & #3 — Is this becoming one of my favorite indie series? 🦇 Batman #14 — Matt Fraction's Batman continues, and I'm really starting to dig Verity!...

I just walked out of Other Mommy , and I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it! 😂 It wasn't particularly scary or gory, but it had some good jump scares, a creepy Other Mommy, and a fantastic performance from its young star. Was it brilliant? Was I missing something? Or was it simply a decent horror movie that kept me entertained? I'm giving it a 6/10 , but I still think it...

🌙 Marvel has gone MIDNIGHT! Three new comics. Three twisted takes on familiar Marvel characters. But which one shines the brightest? In this special edition of The Signal, I'm diving into all three new Marvel Midnight #1s: 🦸 Midnight Fantastic Four #1 🕷️ Midnight Spider-Man #1 ❌ Midnight X-Men #1 I'm going in with very little knowledge, reading each issue, and sharing my immediate react...

Three episodes into Line of Fire and I have absolutely no idea if I like this show. 😂 Episode one had me. Episode two completely lost me. Episode three pulled me back in… kinda. Am I thinking way too hard about how these federal agents are behaving, or do I just need to shut my brain off and enjoy the ride? And because this is The Brad Files, somehow we also need to settle an important issue in m...

What lit up your Bat-Signal this week? Welcome to The Signal Scan , where Brad and Brian scan the multiverse for the movies, TV, comics, wrestling, news, and general nerdiness that caught their attention this week. From Brian’s Scanner to Brad’s Scanner, you never know what’s going to show up on the radar. Join the conversation and tell us: What lit up YOUR Bat-Signal this week? Chase what you lov...

I went into Verity knowing almost nothing about the book, the story, or where this movie was taking me. And after taking the trip…I think my GPS was right. 😂 There were some interesting stops, a whole lot of road in between, and thankfully Josh Hartnett was along for the ride. No spoilers—just my immediate reaction to Verity , why it didn’t quite work for me, and one question for everyone who’s s...

Every comic in my collection has an end of life. Some end up on the wall. Some stay in the box. And some get traded away so something better can take their place. So it feels strangely appropriate that today’s comic is literally called END OF LIFE. I bought this Vertigo comic because I loved the cover…and then never actually read it. Today, it finally gets One Last Read. Does it earn a place in MY...

My brain is full of nerd shit… and you get to be the toilet paper. Welcome to The Brad Files! Brian and I entered DC's create-a-villain contest with our villain, Dark Web. We didn't win. Well… I finally read the introduction of the winning villain, Rhetoric, in Detective Comics — and let's just say I'm a little butthurt. 😂 Then it's New Comic Book Day, which means it's tim...

Two Gambit miniseries at the SAME TIME?! One is GONE. The other is WANTED. What the hell is going on with Remy LeBeau? 🃏 Today, The Signal is shining on Gambit: Gone #1 ! I've already checked out Gambit: Wanted #1 and #2, and I'm building my definitive Gambit collection over on Worth the Space. But Gone caught me completely by surprise when I spotted it on the rack. So we're doing wha...

We've been getting glimpses of Batgirl throughout Absolute Batman, and now she's suited up and front and center on the cover of issue #24! 🦇 What does the Absolute Universe have planned for one of the Bat-Family's most beloved characters? In this episode of The Signal, I'm diving into Absolute Batman #24 by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta. We're talking Batgirl, Scarecrow, Goth...

I was NOT emotionally prepared for Heart of the Beast. Welcome to The Brad Files, where my brain is full of nerd shit and apparently you're the toilet paper! This time, I'm talking about the new Brad Pitt movie, Heart of the Beast, directed by David Ayer. I took my wife and daughter to see it, and what followed was an emotional roller coaster I genuinely wasn't expecting. We're tal...

This week, Brad and Brian are celebrating two massive pieces of nerd culture: Transformers and Batman! We look back at what these characters and worlds have meant to us, celebrate Batman Day , talk some Transformers, and—as always—things eventually spiral into the usual Bat-Signals chaos. Plus, we’ve got Mt. Nerdmore, The Gauntlet, Brian’s Game , questionable opinions, unexpected side quests, and...

My brain is full of nerd shit… and you get to be the toilet paper. Welcome to The Brad Files. Today we're talking about two of the greatest things ever created: Scotcheroos and chocolate milk. I'm an Iowa guy. I grew up on Scotcheroos, my grandma perfected them, and AE Dairy already makes some of the best dairy products around. But now they've done something ridiculous. SCOTCHAROO. CHO...

Welcome to The Brad Files — the place where I turn on the camera and empty out whatever is bouncing around my nerd brain. This time I'm talking TV, movies, comics and whatever else I stumble into along the way — including Lanterns, Resident Evil, The Traitors, Final Boss, Absolute Green Arrow, Absolute Batman and what I'm heading to the theater to see next. No script. No quick sheet. No re...

📡 The Signal is shining on Absolute Green Arrow #5 . For five issues, DC has kept one pretty important question hanging over the Absolute Universe: Who is Green Arrow? I managed to avoid the spoilers, grabbed issue #5, hit BRB and went in almost completely blind. We finally got an answer. Sort of. ⚠️ SPOILERS after the BRB! No scores. No over-prep. Just comics worth reading, discovering, and talk...

The Avengers AND the Guardians of the Galaxy in one comic? Of course I bought it. But buying comics is easy. Keeping them is a different question. This time on Worth the Space, Guardians Team-Up #1 gets One Last Read before I decide if it's Wall Worthy, a Keep, or headed to the Trade pile. Then it's time for The Chase—and I've got some BIG additions to both collections, including a sig...

📡 The Signal is shining on DNX #1 from Marvel Comics . I wasn't planning on buying this one. Then they put it in a blind bag. And apparently I'm incapable of walking away from a comic blind bag. 😂 So I'm going into DNX #1 without following most of Marvel's current events to see if I can jump in, figure out what's happening, and—most importantly—whether the comic inside was wo...

I am sparatic, I'm easy going and sometimes just have a few things to say. If you are a nerd and want some REAL TALK. I might make you lauph, cry or think about life for a second. Thanks!

🦇 THE BAT-SIGNAL IS LIT! It's time for another Signal Scan as Brad and Brian dive into the comics, movies, TV, gaming and everything else lighting up their Bat-Signals this week. This week we're checking back in on Lanterns , talking about what we've been watching and reading, and asking a new kind of question about one of DC's most fascinating characters: Is Vandal Savage actuall...

The Signal is shining on Dark Knights of Steel II #1 & #2. 📡 The original Dark Knights of Steel became one of my favorite DC Elseworlds—but did we actually need to return to this universe? I'm going in to find out. After reading the first two issues, we're talking Batman, Talia al Ghul, Damian, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Amanda Waller, some fantastic artwork, and whether there's eno...

Does being a KEY automatically make a comic Worth the Space? This time, Justice League: Dark Tomorrow Special #1 gets One Last Read. Batman Beyond. Helena Wayne. Gold Beetle. Jonah Hex. Time travel. A new team of Legends. It sounds like DC threw a bunch of characters into a blender—and somehow made a comic-book smoothie. The book also features several notable first appearances, including Legend, t...
