The Home Video Hustle

I was always curious about this film, everyone seems to hate it and its been so forgotten to time that it never even got a blu-ray release! Well, thanks to our patron Jacob Killjoy I get to see what all the hype is about. Chris is here with me this week and Cameron is too...When he finally woke back up anyway. We hope you enjoy the show! The Patreon list stikes hard this week. I knew I would need help for this one and thankfully Chris was able to get on the mic with me. We got through it but one of us fell asleep for a section of the film, can you guess who? We also talk about Kraven the Hunter, James Bond movies, Inspector Gadget, the wack 1998 Godzilla movie and it's soundtrack, Brent's dislike for The Big Lebowski and Chris pic...

It's time to get back to the Patrons and first up, it's time to show some love to Dree and her pick, Freeway! I actually had the 4K disc for this but had never watched it. I heard it's pretty wild and very trashy, so that seems like something i need to check out. This film also taught me a new term that I had to go and look up on Urban Dictionary. Thank you again to Dree and thank you all for list...

Round 9! This is the film that almost made me do this series sooner. When this was coming out, it looked great but I hadn't seen anything before it and I was too lazy then to go through everything, not this time though! I definitely have a real strong thought about this film that I may be alone with but i'll have to see if you guys agree. Almost gone the distance, just one round left... Support Th...

It's round 8 and finally, I get to watch the series that set me on this journey. Rocky's story is over but can the son of Apollo Creed have as entertaining a journey as Balboa? I don't know why I was so hyper during this episode, i'm talking really fast in spots, so apologies in advance. Maybe the film just got me that hype... Round 7? What the hell is this? Well thanks to the AVGN and The Homie Mike Bagford for reminding me this exists, I watched a parody of the Rocky films that dropped in the mid 80's. The box boasts that it is on the same level as Airplane and i'll just spoil this now...It's not. It's really not. Round 6! It's time to finally wrap up the Rocky series. After a weak part 5, can Stallone come back and give Balboa the sendoff they deserve? As usual, I keep it to the point with these episodes but I do take a bit of time to nerd out on United Artists logos and HBO boxing memories. Thanks for listening! To wrap up the Black History Month Marathon, I grabbed the homie Brendan and we watched a kung-fu movie made here in Columbus, Ohio! While we are in awe of the filmmaking here, we also stopped to talk about the train derailments in Ohio, 007 movies, long hospital waits and those Tubi super bowl ads. We hope you enjoy the show! Did you know there was a "kinda" sequel to Breakin 2? I've been waiting to break open this blu-ray for a long time and luckily I have Joey and Markellus from the So Wizard Podcast here to help me rate these bars! We also discuss our love for Cannon films, MST3K, buying the same films in every different format, Sonny Spoon, wrestling and how this film killed the "----in Universe." We hope you enjoy...

Cameron & Chris are back because this was a special request movie for us to review! This is a staple in Black households but will it still be enjoyable all these years after not seeing it? I don't know if it's because we haven't recorded together in a while but we were on ten this episode. We were singing, laughing at inappropriate jokes, reminiscing about True Crime: Streets of LA, learning about...

After getting a bit serious last week, I wanted to have some fun and thanks to HBO Max, I was able to get a big, dumb action movie. If you recall from the review I did with Brendan on the first XXX movie, I HATED it. This time Vin Diesel is gone and Ice Cube steps in, so this should be more my speed right? Of course with Cube being the star, I got some hip hop talk in, gave my quick thoughts on th...

It's the fifth round and I was the most curious to see what was up with this installment. I don't think i've ever heard anyone say anything good about Rocky V, Stallone even gave this a zero out of ten before so I was excited to see how bad it could possibl be. Or maybe to see if everyone was just bugging out all these years. Support The Show On Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/homevideohustle Wa...

I couldn't not give you guys an episode this week! I didn't have a lot of time to record so i decided to watch a short film and this one definitely had my mind going. This ended up being a way more personal episode than I expected it to be but it felt nice to finally speak on some of that stuff and i hope you guys are cool with it. Don't worry though, it's not all serious, I rant about streaming s...

Round 4! The Rocky journey is now half over and this is the one i've heard the most about outside of the original. I went the extra mile for this installment and watched not only the theatrical cut but I also took a look at the Ultimate Directors Cut version that Stallone recut a few years back. I watched them back to back and tell you all about the differences and how I felt overall. Support The...

This was a Cameron request! He really wanted to watch this Spike Lee joint and he also shares a lot of his stories and experiences from attending an HBCU and pledging to a fraternity and they are just was goofy and wild as you'd expect. Cameron and Chris also demolished a bottle of whiskey during the show so it got wild. We talked about stepping, rage quitting video games, radio station beef and s...

Round 3! This is the one, this is the one that i've always heard turned the franchise around and made it more fun and cartoonish. Will that be a good thing though? I had a lot of friends tell me that this is the one that I should like the most so let's find out together what I thought about Rocky III. Round 2! Continuing my journey through the Rocky films and it was surprising to see that a lot of the references, memes and quotes I really knew, came from this film! I was interested to see this one and find out what happened after Rocky got mopped up by Apollo Creed in the first one. I'm curious to see if my opinion on this one is crazy or not. Surprise! Starting a new series this week. I have been meaning to watch the Rocky films for years and just have never gotten around to it, I even bought the six movie blu ray set and let it gather dust. Well, we're changing that because Creed III looks real interesting so I gotta play catch up. This is a classic film, won best picture even so let's see what it does for me. I may have some slightly...

I let Chris pick from a stack of three movies and he chose this lesser known Ice-T classic! I always liked this movie but I wondered what they would think, one of them really surprised me. In the episode Chris also gives his review of the new Teen Wolf movie, Cameron gets upset when he remembers that Mortal Kombat Conquest got cancelled and we all laugh at Billboard's top 50 rappers list. Enjoy th...

This episode went way off the rails, mainly because alcohol was involved. We have been doing this show way to long to not have done it yet, so we finally got around to Foxy Brown this week! Cameron was on one for sure this week and multiple times we were distracted by craziness happening on tv. We played some chip tunes, tried to remember hospital color codes, told a crazy story about a recent exp...

It's February, so you know that means it's all Black films for the next TWO months! I don't know how it took us almost six years to do this one but it's here and we had a lot of fun talking about it. We can all damn near quote each scene so no surprises on scores here but we also talk about The Isley Brothers, sports betting, Disney songs and Chris creates a new ad-lib for himself. We also watched...

Thanks to Patreon supporter Daniel Boon, I get to rewatch a film I haven't seen in probably fifteen years. Cameron brought over his Anita Baker record, Chris learns more about his crush Rosario Dawson, I have serious questions about Cameron loving Anita Baker but not Sade, we talk a lot about movie soundtracks and yeah, we discuss Rush Hour too. We hope you enjoy the show! All Our Links - https://...

Patreon Month continues and this week our homie Dregeaux sent us a b-movie classic, Miami Connection. This is one of those movies that is commonly considered so bad it's good, but will we agree? Cameron's kids were upstairs while we recorded this week and that lead to us talking about old TV channels and how kids have no idea what they are anymore, Chris sings old cartoon theme songs, we laugh at...

The Hustle is back for 2023 and so are the Patreon Picks! Coming in at number 35 is Congo but even better, we have Steve and Izzy from the Everything I Learned from Movies Podcast here with us because this was their pick! We talked for a while and there was a twist with one of our scores that NO ONE saw coming! We also talked about Legends of the Hidden Temple, Cameron disses Jason X, Chris has be...

Let's take a minute to just chill out after all that holiday craziness. It's just me this week but I got some convo for you. I have some Patreon updates for you, an update on PJ, I tell you a bit about future plans of the show and just ramble on about movies, MST3K and tell a story or two. Patreon picks return next week!
