DJ Brains

Finally! A live show with new music again. This week I had to miss my normal show due to other commitments, but luckily I got a message from DJ Para offering me his Sunday show. Para was due to be busy taking UKG to the teen boppin' masses as he was supporting an FHM top 15 chick with 2 hoodlums as they performs some gangster hits. That's right, Para was on tour with N-Dubz. Maximum respect. Well...

As promised, here's a flashback episode from Pressure Radio. I picked completely at random and chose a really diverse episode. There's a bit of Jackin' House, a bit of 2-Step, some 4x4 and some old skool. Jam this down your lugholes, and I'll throw some freshness at you soon. Okay so I messed up. I messed up bad. This week's show didn't get recorded. Couple that with a no-show last week and you're on a garage drought. This isn't a full podcast episode, it's a short update from me about what happened and what's coming. Was a wicked show and I'm gutted you (and I) will never hear it. Track list still below and here's the Serato playlist if you want it. More riddims soon....

Brand spanking new beats once again this week. Still not quite got myself organised in the MP3 department but I try my best to hold it up. Still a fair selection of forthcoming bits, plus a few classics thrown in for good measure. Wassup muthatruckers? Sorry for the delay this week. You may be noticing a pattern emerging of every other week being a bit late. Sorry about that, but you'll have to deal with it. I'm doing this for free remember! This week, you've got some gurly vibes with some early 2-step. The track list was picked by a friend a few years back and I mixed it together for them. It's an absolute cheesefest, but...

Yes yes. More bangin beats for you this week. Bussin all sorts of tracks sitting on the borders of several different genres. Not much to say except get in there, download the shit and listen to it. Keep it raw. B Visit https://brainfartz.co.uk for free downloads of some of the tracks from the show and more from DJ Brainz |

Howdy kids, Another quick upload this week. Sorry for the delay. If you've been following me or my website Slick n Fresh over the past few years then there's a chance you've heard this mix before. If not, you're in for a doozy. Gashtastic Volume 2 was an old school mix I put together a few years back. Generally it gets a good reaction from people. Check it out and let me know what you think. Cheer...

Had a crazy week this week. At the age of 28 I managed to pass my driving test (2 minors, get in), and also I purchased a Rane SL3 with Serato ScratchLive. All of this equates to a strange show. Lots of new music but it was a bit of a weird one where I was getting used to using Serato for the first time. Overall, I was loving it. And once I'm used to it I'll be pushing the levels even higher. Sera...

Yes yes my bumpy UKG crew. Querk ones from me. Here's a flashback to 2009 when I'm on Pressure Radio. This one is a mixup with no talking, just riddims. I'll be honest, I haven't listened back to this before posting it up, so hopefully it's not all pots and pans. I know that I posted this on the t'interweb before so I must have thought it was okay then! Safe ones, and more live bizzo next week. B...

First of all, massive, MASSIVE shout out to everyone that's been downloading the podcast. This month I got an email from my service provider telling me I've managed to do 60GBs worth more of bandwidth than their own cluster of business sites combined. Guess what this is due to? That's right, you guys. Without me looking into it properly I didn't realise that this podcast at the moment is a roaring...

You may or may not know I've actually been doing "dis ting" for many years now. Back in the day, when I was (much) younger and more stupid, I managed to get myself on the legendary 89.4FM - London Underground. LUG kicked off many a UKG legend's careers, such as MJ Cole, Greg Stainer and Mr Buzzhard to name the 3 that come to mind immediately. At the time, I was going by DJ G-Man, which the station...

Buckle up, strap a nappy on, and press play on this week's show. We got loads more new music for you this week with the levels hitting peak al throughout the show. I spend most of the time dancing around the studio so apologies if some of the mixes are late or a little loose. Big up the chat room crew over at Sub. FM who were bang on it. Apologies for the no-show on the podcast last week. I had to...

Alright you massive ringhole lickers? We're back with another episode of the Brainzcast. It's another show with the latest and greatest in UK Garage and Future Garage, with a bit of dirty, stinkin; UK Funky for good measure. So sit back, turn it up and bang your head to the sounds of DJ BrainZ and the best in new music. Don't forget I'd love to hear feedback. Please leave a comment on the blog or...

Warblow Just wanted to take a time out to say thanks for your continued support of the Brainz podcast. This week you've got the DVD extras from last week's show. I played a random bunch of tunes from the past few years for your listening pleasure. Really appreciate all the feedback I've been getting and nuff respect to everyone downloading and listening to the shows. Don't forget I'd love to hear...

UPDATE: Lots of people have been finding this post after searching for 2011 UK garage. Maximum respect for looking and ending up here. This episode was recorded and released in January 2011. There's fresh music at least every other week here, so please check out the podcast homepage for the latest episode or subscribe via iTunes to get the latest episode as soon as it drops of the 2011 UK Garage p...

As promised (be it a little delayed) is another show from the Brainz UKG vault. We're going back to September 2009. A time where I think we can all agree had no significance whatsoever. Hang on, that's a bit harsh. I'm guessing there. Apparently loads of shit happened. I'd wager that none of them were as important as this show when it aired. Enough rambling, more riddims. See you Saturday 3-5PM on...

Happy new year! It was about 3am on New Years Day when I was mixing it up with 2 pals in a bit of a state and it came to me: Tomorrow I'm doing a crate digging show. Hopefully my neighbours didn't mind the racket up till 4 in the morning with some old school sounds. Was definitely worse for wear in this show so apologies for the clangtastic action in some places. This was also the first time I've...

Merry Christmas everyone! And a special seasons greetings to all the listeners of the Brainz podcast. Here's a present for you. As promised, here's a banging old skool UK Garage mix to be the first one you put on shiny new iPod that Santa brought you. This was a mix I put together for the fine people at YouDunKnow.co.uk and went out in their podcast a week or two back. It was a selection of some o...

Week 2 of a garage-free garage podcast as it's Christmas. Every year I dust off my tiny pile of random, non UKG records for a clangfest of ill proportions in celebration of a magical Jew. We're keeping it steak bake, with a dash of jungle, a pinch of club classics, and a dab of UKG at the start. Random insight into my life - I moved house this week. Just before the show I had to make a new home fo...

This week we're taking a dark turn with some dubstep from DJ and producer Ficktion. 2010 definitely was the year dubstep broke into the mainstream. With its roots firmly in UK garage I thought it only fair to give it a bit of a showcase. Ficktion takes us through some of the hottest dubstep thumpers of 2010. So put your headphones on, your angry face on, and one-foot skank to these sick sounds. Ne...

Back live in the mix this week with some fresh, banging tracks. Hang tight everyone that was locked to the live show. We're slowly counting down to Christmas. My next live show is in the diary for the 18th of December and will be completely different to the usual vibes. If you're around, lock in for my festive special at Sub. FM from 3PM. Big up to the crew that have finally started leaving some c...

As promised, here's part 2 of my 4 hour show from last week. Riddims still a gwarn, be be aware I'd already been standing up and mixing for 2 hours at the start of this. Rate this podcast on iTunes you bastard. Do it. Why won't you do it? Cos you're gay. That's why. Stop swallowing sausage and start giving me 5 stars. It's just rude to choose cock over me. Unless you're a chick. Then I understand....

Easy now. Went on a savage 4 hour set this week. Banged out a chunk of tracks for your listening pleasure. This week you get the first two hours of the set. Expect bass, beats and bubblation. I'll apologise in advance for the levels. I was broadcasting way too loud so there is a bit of distortion on the recording. Blah blah blah comment yadda yadda yadda rate on iTunes. No one's bothering right no...

Flashing back to a peaceful, less economically troubled time of 5 years ago this week. It's 2005, It's my birthday, I'm on the now defunct Crunch FM and I'm playing absolute randomness. Expect a lot of club classics and someone throwing some pots and pans around in the background. Enjoy the music, and if you want to catch me LIVE and less clangy, make your way down to Shoreditch this Thursday. I'm...

Bass in your face massively right here. The Sub. FM Chat room was hot on it all show and maximum respect anyone in there making noise. Catch me live every fortnight on the award winning Sub. FM, Saturday 3pm-5pm. I'm also potentially playing in Shoreditch in a few weeks, so watch this space! Don't forget I'd love to hear feedback. Please leave a comment on the blog or rate me & comment on...
