In the information age, the health world is full of contradictory ideas and misconceptions which hold us back in life. This podcast is aimed at helping isolate and unpack the misconceptions of the western medical system and in the western culture at large, with respect to health and therapy. Ep. 39 - The Games We Play In Love & Dating 15.08.2026 1:11:08
This episode is a raw, wide-ranging conversation with Simone Demanuele about attraction, relationships, dating, validation, projection, power and some of the more uncomfortable realities of how people relate to one another. We explore what attraction actually is, and why someone can appear objectively “physically attractive” yet evoke little genuine sexual attraction. We talk about our fixation on...
Ep. 38 - Ayahuasca - 'The medicine is life' 08.08.2026 44:03
Most people are chasing the experience. The visions. The purge. The story they can tell afterwards. But what if that’s not where the real power is? In this episode of The Uncomfortable Truth, I unpack the reality of ayahuasca beyond the hype. Because just like a psychologist, a coach, or any modality… the medicine doesn’t do the work for you. The real work begins after. We talk about integration -...
Ep. 37 - Why Hustle Doesn’t Work: Finding Your True Alignment 25.07.2026 47:39
This is my favourite episode of the podcast so far. It is a raw, honest and largely uncut exploration of 'hustle' state Vs a 'go with the flow' state, and what I believe both sides of that conversation often get wrong. Some people can work 15 hours a day and feel inspired, energised and completely alive. Others can force themselves through far less work and end up exhausted, resentful and burnt ou...
Ep. 36 - My take on Tennis 23.07.2026 38:42
This is a rough-and-ready episode about tennis, technique and what it actually takes to learn a difficult skill quickly. I’ve only been playing tennis for around 18 months, but in a relatively short space of time I feel like I’ve sorted out many of the main mechanics. Meanwhile, a lot of the people I started beginner classes with are still struggling with the same basic limitations. The difference...
Ep. 35 - Academic Knowledge Vs Field Knowledge 19.07.2026 21:41
This is a spicy one. In Episode 35, I challenge the assumption that academic knowledge is automatically more valuable than knowledge developed through real-world experience. Academic theories can be useful, but they are often compressed into words, concepts and models that exist primarily in the mind. Direct experience is different. It contains far more information: physical sensations, timing, co...
Ep. 34 - Years of Therapy... I Understand Myself intellectually, but I feel the same on the inside 11.07.2026 56:53
Still people pleasing, unable to say no. Still living in fight or flight. Still believing you're not good enough, even though you understand where those beliefs came from. Still gossiping behind people's backs. If you've spent years in therapy, read the books, listened to the podcasts, and developed a deep understanding of yourself—but the patterns you wanted to change are still there—this episode...
Ep. 33 - The Hidden Language of Energy - How Non-verbal Communication Impacts Our Relationships 01.06.2026 1:06:58
The people who do the best with the opposite sex, usually don't have the highest IQ. The people who get paid the most, usually aren't the best at the technical aspects of their job. So much of our success in live is dictated by our emotional intelligence, or senses outside of the purely conceptual or information realm, and yet there is so little discussion on Non-verbal communication, whether in...
Ep. 32 - Science, Authority & the Pursuit of Truth 16.05.2026 1:03:18
In this episode, I sit down with Michael Clausing for a candid and free-flowing discussion about science, authority, philosophy, and the way we assess information in the modern world. Michael has a background in chemistry and has spent almost two decades working within the pharmaceutical industry, engaging closely with doctors, medical systems, and the broader healthcare space. Together, we explor...
Ep. 31 - Boundaries are an inside job 18.03.2026 18:33
Boundaries are everywhere right now. Everyone’s talking about them. Everyone’s “setting” them. But here’s the truth… Most people don’t actually have boundaries — they just have words. In this episode, I break down why boundaries aren’t something you say… they’re something you embody. Because if you don’t truly believe what’s acceptable to you, the world won’t either.
Ep. 30 - When words lie: How naive vulnerability is a mistake 09.08.2025 31:06
We’ve been told to “just be vulnerable” — but what if that advice is setting us up for heartache? The reality is, not everyone is telling the truth. People lie all the time, and their actions and body language often reveal more than their words ever will. In this episode, I unpack the problem with naïve vulnerability and why oversharing without discernment can leave you exposed to manipulation in...
Ep. 29 - 'Helping Others' is bypassing/virtue signalling, masquerading as altruism 31.05.2025 27:11
Helping others', while being positioned as virtuous and good for society, is often detrimental. When someone has a fundamental piece of their identity as a 'helper' this is usually a mechanism to either get out of the hard work, avoid being seen, OR an attempt to get brownie points for being a 'good guy' or 'good girl'. The Uncomfortable truth is that while positioned as virtuous, 'helping other...
Ep. 28 - Dating - 'Things in common' don't matter 24.05.2025 18:58
In this podcast I discuss how I haver been observing a common mistake while watching the show 'Love is Blind' - a dating show where people get to know each other behind a wall so they can't actually see each other, so they must choose their match without seeing what they look like. This mistake is so prevalent that it is actually the norm, and yet because our culture is so disconnected from the b...
Ep. 27 - 'The plan wasn't bad' - you just need to stick to it. 06.05.2025 14:33
In this episode we discuss how a common issue that people tend to have in pursuit of any goal in any domain is that we abandon the plan for a new one, or leave it before we've had time to see any results. Many plans will work, but no plan will work that is not seen out. In this episode we use an example between an Pro and Amateur lifter, and how we often misattribute the reasons for the pro's...
Ep. 26 - 'Toxic Niceness' - "I can't say no to my friends" 26.04.2025 21:19
Do you ever feel like you over extend yourself, or feel resentment that you're always doing too much for others? Sometimes 'being nice' is the toxic thing to do! In this episode we explore the topic of 'toxic niceness'. The uncomfortable truth is that if we are 'being nice' when it is not appropriate too, then we are actually not being a good person. Enabling a friend's bad behaviour (or anyone's...
Ep. 25 - The ‘Magic’ Happens on Day 37 19.04.2025 23:24
In this episode we discuss how tangible results are not linear, even if the action steps we take are linear and consistent. We discuss some of the min excuses people use as Exit strategies, such as blaming the 'vehicle' or strategy, when the results don't come straight away - resulting in us continuing to chase the next shiny object, rather than see a plan through to completion. The uncomfortab...
Ep. 24 - Balancing various weekly exercise 12.04.2025 13:27
If we don't get clear on what our goals are and balance our exercise properly, we may flip flop between different activities and will not develop as quickly, and may injure ourselves. In this episode we touch on some broad principles with respect to Running and Weight training in the same regimen. When we have competing goals and physical exercise, what are the rules. There is so much information...
Ep.23 - Living to ‘help others’ is toxic 04.04.2025 16:37
In this episode we discuss how the brave and more difficult path is to live for ourselves. How we can hide in 'helping others' because the focus is off of ourself, and more insidiously, we can win brownie points at the time and be the goodie goodie while we hide. We discuss how the ego attempts to make itself the moral 'goodie', and how the way to mitigate being manipulated is to anchor to our...
Ep. 22 - Do you qualify as a 'sick person'? - (objectifying sickness) 28.03.2025 11:57
One of the major issues mistakes in thinking in our western medical system is the categorical distinction between 'sick' or 'not sick'. It seems that if we are not sick, then there is nothing that the medical system can do for us, and we should just suck it up, OR if we do qualify, then we have an objective disorder and should be treated differently and given pharmaceuticals. A great question to...
Ep. 21 - Good tears & Bad tears (Processing Emotions) 15.03.2025 33:27
One of the best episodes yet! If we don't understand our emotions and how to process them, then how can we expect to communicate well and relate to each other? A great episode which discusses the difference between good and bad emoting, holding space, psychological entanglement, and some 'MAFS' references to boot.
Ep. 20 - Biohacking is a bad attitude 08.03.2025 18:06
In this episode we discuss how biohacking by definition is an attempt to 'hack the system' and that this attitude is not the best long term philosophy for health. Biohacking may have some utility, but we neeed to see the big picture, otherwise we may get lost chasing the 'shiny object' and chasing the 'cool thing' of the day i.e. use it as an avoidance, rather than as a way to speed our physiolog...
Ep. 19 - Worrying about others is an act of violence - ‘Ahimsa’ 20.02.2025 25:36
In this episode we discuss an idea from yogic indian philosophy (Yamas and Niyamas) on how "Worry is an act of violence and cannot exist simultaneously with love" So often we think that we are doing people a favour by worrying about them. In this podcast episode, we discuss how worry is a selfish projection of our own fears into the situation, and can actually considered an act of violence. Can we...
Ep. 18 - Letting go of the 'good girl' 15.02.2025 34:07
In this episode, we discuss how having an identity around being a 'good person' can sometimes get us stuck in bad relationships where our need to feel like the 'good girl' can be used against us. If we are too hung up on being liked by others or concerns about what others think of us, it can get us into compromising relationships where we are controlled. The uncomfortable truth is that we may als...
Ep. 17 - Migraines & Headaches 08.02.2025 37:55
We can be sitting quietly at our desks, meanwhile on the inside we are "sitting in a soup of cortisol and adrenaline, meanwhile the person next to us is none the wiser..." In this episode I share my thoughts and experience with my clients with respect to migraines and headaches. We discuss the main interim solutions to address immediate pain including botox and medications. The long-term soluti...
Ep. 16 - Which Limiting Beliefs do you have 'Stockholm Syndrome' for? 01.02.2025 33:32
In order to heal and change for the better, it helps to have an understanding of why we are doing the negative thing to begin with. In this episode we discuss how we are essentially choosing our negative stories! You might ask - "What do I possibly have to gain from limiting beliefs?". There is always a reason.... We look into why we have 'Stockholm Syndrome' for our limiting beliefs and want to...
Ep. 15 - Spiritual bypassing & discernment in selecting practitioners 25.01.2025 25:32
Often in this culture we can be sucked into the 'cool thing' to do, rather than the 'real work', and becoming overly attached to the vehicle/container/practitioner/method/technique etc. can be a way to Spiritual Bypass. It is important to use discernment and select high quality coaches to help us fast-track our process, and yet, it is our sincerity, intention, and willingness to confront what is p...
