Episode 28 - Stripes 07.08.2019

This week we watched the movie Stripes. Jimmy saw a lot different movie than Forrest did. We learn about his hatred of military comedies. We also talk about who this was originally written for. Also is Ox a racist? Forrest and Jimmy disagree about a comparison Forrest makes to Full Metal Jacket. Jimmy is also upset at the movie's titty bar logic.

Episode 27 - Surf Nazis Must Die 31.07.2019

This week we watch the Troma classic Surf Nazis Must Die. Jimmy finds some misinformation regarding who directed this. Forrest thinks of an unlikely candidate who should remake this movie. Jimmy talks about watching this movie at work and how it perfectly fits a break schedule. They both recommend a Punk Rock Western.

This week Forrest tortured Jimmy and and Lucas with the Hüsker Dü album Zen Arcade. Lucas couldn't finish the album and Jimmy powered through it six times. I guess you can say they Hüsker Dön't.

We are chugging along to the end of the Harry Potter books. This we are dissecting Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Forrest asks why these kids are not obese given the fact they do not have any type of P.E. or gym class. We also discuss why Draco is allowed to stay at the school after directly saying he works for Voldemort. Jimmy tells Forrest about something fans do that is worse than play...

This week, we are talking about The Burbs. This was one of the many movies Forrest saw for the first time on Channel 5. Jimmy is not impressed by this. We talk about the Universal Studios backlot and Jimmy's fear of Leatherface.

The only podcast episode that matters. This week we watched the Clash documentary Westway to the World. This is a band Forrest and Jimmy both love. They reminisce about their history with the band.

Episode 22 - City of Thieves by David Benioff 26.06.2019

Today, we talk about City of Thieves by David Benioff. We talk about Russia during World War II. The book was an influence on the Playstation game The Last of Us, which is what prompted Forrest to read it. Jimmy talks about finding True Crime and Horror videos on YouTube.

Continuing our discussion on the Harry Potter series. Forrest expands his theory and likens Voldemort to specific disease. Jimmy continues to guide Forrest through the Wizarding World.

We talk about the classic Point Break to kick off Summer and make a right turn at the Day the Music Died. Forrest feels the ending of this movies somewhat mirrors the Silence of the Lambs. Jimmy thinks this is a prequel to the Matrix. We also follow up on our episode for Split after seeing its sequel, Glass.

Finally, book that's not set in the Wizarding World. We read N0S4A2 by Joe Hill. Forrest used the podcast as an excuse to re-read the book ahead of the show. Jimmy airs his grievances about Joe Hill and Stephen King as if it was Festivus.

Lucas Perea joins Jimmy and Forrest to discuss the band Squeeze. Forrest describes this as Dad New Wave. Jimmy and Lucas agree, but are still weary when Forrest recommends any type of music to them.

Today we continue our journey into the Wizarding World, and watch the film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Forrest feels there is so much waste in these movies that cut out the wrong things. Jimmy feels if Forrest wrote these stories, Harry Potter would be closer to Neville Longbottom.
