What If #9- Happy Days Avengers! 11.06.2024

In which X7 travels back in time to the 50s. Here he finds a group of heroes calling themselves the Avengers! However, this is an Avengers the world had never seen before, made up of a robot, a humanoid gorilla, a goddess, a super smart man and a living robot! Hmm, maybe we have seen Avengers like this before! Find out who these Avengers are! Special points to anyone who knows why we used this mus...

Herculoids 08, Temples and Gladiators! 10.06.2024

In which X7, that amazing agent of awesome, reviews the 8th episode of the Herculoids! This could be considered a Halloween episode, since it was broadcast 10-28-1967. There is a lot of slam bang action in the first segment, followed by an almost spooky segment about an ancient being called Trax! Any guesses as to who is going to be sacrificed to bring Trax back to life?

Finally the Rocks have come back to San Angelo! Monolith Monsters 09.06.2024

In which X7 rocks out to the 1957 movie The Monolith Monsters . This was aired on Svengoolie last night, and the movie is a lot of fun. Where else can you see alien rocks rise up to giant heights, fall over and do it again and again? Here! We talk about some interesting parts of the movie and some of the great stars in it. Rock on!

The Flash of Earth 90 08.06.2024

In which X7 speeds back to the 90s to visit The Flash television series. This was the first teleseries to present a more serious superhero since the late 70s. It works well for the most part. The show is easily and rather inexpensively available to view. It really was good enough to last several seasons, and the character did return in a different Flash series. Who knew that would happen?

7 Song Friday 6-7-24 or time travel with the TARDIS! 07.06.2024

In which X7 talks about seven random songs, and begins an experiment about the podcast! These songs are from 1949 to 2024, possibly the widest range of music we have had on an episode. We did skip the 60s today though. Not on purpose! We could not resist using the thumbnail today, though. #doctorwho #tardis

King Kong Escapes from Dr. Who! 06.06.2024

In which X7 looks at the classic 1967 kaiju eiga (monster movie) King Kong Escapes . It is very loosely based on our previously reviewed King Kong Show . It is a fun adventure movie, with spies and double crosses and best of all, giant monsters!

The New Fantastic Four (improved? NOT) 05.06.2024

In which X7 delivers what people of a certain vintage might call a "hot take" on a rather reviled cartoon- The New Fantastic Four from 1978. Someone should have realized replacing the Human Torch with a dopey robot was not going to make fans of the comic book love this cartoon. However, the animation is rather good (for the time frame) and Jack "The King" Kirby did the designs!...

Choy Li Fut (1979) 04.06.2024

In which X7 reveals his chosen martial art, some history of it and a movie which is a fair representation of the fighting style. Choy Li Fut is one of the most popular kung fu styles in the world, but it is not very well represented on the big or small screen. This is a good movie, and has a lot of the style in it. It has some other shenanigans as well, but overall it is a pretty fun movie. Accord...

Herculoids 07, with Mechanical Terrors! 03.06.2024

In which X7 looks at the two segments of the Herculoids that comprise episode seven! We meet Mekkano and Torrak, who think they can defeat the team. They have mighty machines and murderous micro-organisms to give it a try. Let us find out how they do against our heroes!

Aquaman Rules the Cartoons, or Action Under the Sea! 02.06.2024

In which X7 makes the case for the how great Aquaman was to a kid in the mid-70s. And he is right about that! Filmation made 36 episodes about the King of the Sea and they thrilled kids for about ten years, until newer, sometimes lamer, cartoons edged the superheroes off television. Thankfully DVD has brought him and many others back to us!

Dinosaur Day 2024! 01.06.2024

In which X7 talks about seven of his favorite movies and shows about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. There are also a wide variety of monsters and other creatures in here as well! We did leave out the dinosauroid creatures such as Godzilla, the Rhedosaurus, and Rodan. As cool as they are, they are not real dinosaurs. We will keep celebrating the bicentennial of dinosaurs all year!

7 Song Friday 5-31-24 or Making Plans for Tomikaze 31.05.2024

In which an on assignment X7 reviews seven great and random musical numbers. He is currently investigating a mysterious cool down in an undisclosed location. Even distracted he manages to make some fun points about the songs and artists. Now, back to the current assignment!

The Lone Ranger, or Tonto, Don't Go to Town! 30.05.2024

In which X7 talks about the greatest western show of all time, The Lone Ranger ! We get an overview of the characters and the creator, and then the television series . The other versions are mentioned, as well as the two newer movies. Stick with this one and the cartoon shows. We can tell X7 is not a horseperson, since he doesn't even mention Silver or Scout. We will make up for that in the po...

Is He Not Spock or He is Nimoy! 29.05.2024

In which X7 reviews the 1995 auto-biography I Am Spock , by the late, great Leonard Nimoy . It is a wonderful book and we highly recommend it. Mr. Nimoy covers his career and life, at least up until 1995. We wish he had written a volume II, though we can understand why he probably didn't. There is a Spcokumentary about him, called For the Love of Spock . We thought that was just a Big Bang The...

Flipper, King of the Sea! 28.05.2024

In which X7 goes swimming with the most famous dolphin in the world (sorry, Splasher), Flipper ! The character has been in three movies and two television shows. However, we mostly talk about the first two movies and the 1964 television series. Everyone loves dolphins, so we are not surprised at the popularity of this show. It has now been about 30 years since Flipper has graced us with his presen...

Ogron and the Bubble People, or Prisoners Z and T 27.05.2024

In which X7 watches the sixth episode of The Herculoids . These are two really good ones, and one can tell that Hanna-Barbera is really getting into their stride with the show. They know how to present our heroes and their foul foes. Even if their enemies get away, it is a good bet they will never be heard from again!

Destroy All Monsters, or Some Monsters, Anyway 26.05.2024

In which X7 manages to not take a full thirty minutes to talk about his favorite Godzilla movie, Destroy All Monsters (1968). He regales us with a story of circumventing his parents wishes, as well as many other neat things about the movie. Let the cry ring out- we must watch (the AIP version of) Destroy All Monsters whenever possible! Purchase Xenorama #50 here !

The Flight of Dragons, or How does that work? 25.05.2024

In which X7 decides that we should know how dragons can fly and breathe fire. To do this, he reviews the 1982 fantasy movie, The Flight of Dragons . This is a combination of the books The Flight of Dragons by Peter Dickinson with the novel The Dragon and the George (1976) by Gordon R. Dickson . It works pretty well, and despite having to make a choice between magic or science, it ends on a happy n...

7 Song Friday 5-24-24 or A Duck from Hungary 24.05.2024

In which X7 listens to another seven random songs and talks about them and the bands or artists. This is a pretty eclectic selection today. Why, there is even music in here from 2024! Take that, everyone who says X7 only listens to the music of the 90s! Here is the Dea Matrona website, if you would like to order their new CD!

Rocket Robin Hood, or Joust Me Now 23.05.2024

In which X7 takes a first ever look at the rare Canadian show Rocket Robin Hood . It was produced by the same people who made the Marvel Superhero cartoons of the 60s, however this is an original idea (sort of). X7 thought of the idea after watching a video from Jill Bearup . She's great! This series is fun. It is sure not the worst future cast of a legend that has ever been!

KISS Attacks the Phantoms of the Park! 22.05.2024

In which X7 takes a loving look at the first KISS movie, Kiss Meets The Phantom of the Park (1978). While it isn't great, he sure loves it and can find very kind things to say about it. Don't listen to this if you want to hear the movie get ripped apart. Xenorama is all about celebrating the things we love! Get ready to rock and roll all night!

What If #8 Daredevil is Blind or even more 'Mazin' Spiders? 21.05.2024

In which it takes X7 an hour to make an episode about Daredevil, Spider-Man and the Mazin' Man-Spider (technical issues, dontcha know). It isn't his favorite what if story, actually, so perhaps the tech conspired to drive him crazy. It worked.

Sinister Android People or What Spider Man is That? 20.05.2024

In which X7 takes a look at the fifth episode of The Herculoids. This time a group of spider things attack our heroes, though none of them can do most things a Spider-Man can. Next, Gorvac creates and giant android clone of Zandor, with plans to make many more of them. He should not have done that in an episode than contained the title Spider Man. It's all out action!

Retromania or Land of the 70s 19.05.2024

In which X7 visits a Retromania show and talks about his experiences with Sid Krofft, Wesley Eure, Kathy Coleman and Ernie Reyes, Jr. Long story short, it was great. He spent some money, but didn't buy any comic books or toys. Which was not easy for him. It was a lovely day here in Fossil Bed, and only a little warmer down in Aurora. It is a small show, which lets people talk to the actors for...

The Young Ones, or Once in Every Lifetime! 18.05.2024

In which X7 talks indulges his musical and comedy tooth by talking about the wonderful British teleseries, The Young Ones. It is just amazing. It is full of outrageous humor, great music and bizarre non sequiturs. It is that great! Where else can you see Motörhead and The Damned (band) play in a living room? Nowhere!
