If we really want to follow Jesus and become more like him then we must not only have Jesus' vision but also Jesus' heart. We must not only see people the way Jesus does but feel about them the way he does. Because Everyone Matters! (Acts 10:1-10; Matthew 9:35-38)

If we really want to follow Jesus and become more like him then Jesus' vision must become ours. What mattered to Jesus must matter to us. Everyone Mattered to Jesus! (Luke 15:1-11; Luke 7:36-50)

Can you imagine the potential impact for the Kingdom of God if every follower of Jesus was following him fully not partially. We would see more than a "boatload" of people transformed by Jesus Christ. (Matthew 4:18-22; Luke 5:1-11; Mark 3:13,14; Luke 6:40)

When faced with difficult circumstances we often fear and worry. But when we remember God's faithfulness we can move with confidence and faith through the trials and difficult times that come our way in the journey of life.

The angel's reveal to Joseph confirms not only the miracle of the virgin birth but also the miracle of the Incarnation. Jesus was born to be the Savior of the world and our Immanuel - the Messiah. That message replaces fear with joy! (Matthew 1:18-25)

During the first Christmas season (before it got it's name), God revealed to Mary the truth about the baby she would one day deliver and how he would one day deliver her. It is the greatest reveal in history and we are still celebrating it today.(Luke 1:26-38)

Be humble and cast your anxieties on God because He cares for you. Be vigilant because you have an enemy that wants to destroy you. God will help you do this. Stand strong for the name of Jesus by the grace of God. (1 Peter 5:6-14)

When persecution comes to the church, it usually comes first to its leaders. Peter challenges elders to remember the role and character of their leadership so that the church might stand strong. (1 Peter 5:1-5)

Trials and suffering are unwelcome parts of everyone's life. Most of us do all we can to avoid these visitors. However God has planned these parts of our lives to not only transform us into the image of Christ but to bring Him glory. (1 Peter 4:12-19)

The result of our faith in the sacrifice of Christ on the cross is we have our identity in Him. This identity gives us the hope of eternal life but also carries responsibility to live like Christ rather than our own selfishness like the world. (1 Peter 4:1 -11)

We are called to suffer well under trials of faith. Thankfully we follow a Savior that leads by example. Christ suffered to the utmost for doing good, therefore we have the ultimate example to suffer well. (1 Peter 3:18-22)

We must be prepared to suffer and prepared to respond so that others might come to faith in Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 3:13-17)

Peter encourages every believer in the Church to live with a submissive spirit in our relationships and he gives six characteristics that Jesus both taught and modeled. When these are visible we declare that we are sons and daughters of the Most High. (1 Peter 3:8-12)

Peter challenges Christians to do marriage God's way instead of what our cultures says we should do. God wants husbands and wives to play their position for the sake of order and the testimony of Christ. (1 Peter 3:1-7)

When we work in submission to our marketplace masters even if they are unjust, hard to work for, treat us badly or just plain jerks we are following the example of our Lord Jesus and giving a testimony of the reality of Christ in our life. (1 Peter 2:18-25)

Because we are the people of God (IDENTITY) we are to proclaim His excellencies (PURPOSE) and we do that by living holy lives in front of an unbelieving world (HOW). Specifically, we submit ourselves to government authority. (1 Peter 2:11-17)

Not only is our salvation individual as far as a personal faith in Christ but there is a corporate dimension as well. Our identity as to who we really are is found in our relationship to Christ, the living stone, not the world where we turn way to often. (1 Peter 2:4-10)

The Word of God is essential and powerful in our lives. It gives us the grace to love one another well and by it we grow up into fully devoted followers of Christ. How then should we shape our lives around the Word? (1 Peter 1:22--2:3)

Peter gives three commands that are both natural and necessary responses to our salvation. These are three ways to live strong so that we can stand strong in our faith regardless of the cost. (1 Peter 1:13-21)

Remembering the blessings of our salvation, rejoicing in it, and remembering how great it is can help us stand strong. A strong faith is a tested faith. It is not only the find of faith worth dying for but also worth living for. (1 Peter 1:6-12)

Stay silent, stay secret. Blend in, be safe. Stand up and someone will try and knock you down. How can we stand strong in our faith in Jesus Christ in the midst of suffering and persecution. (1 Peter 1:3-5)

We sometimes think that unless we get a good feeling during worship we really have not worshipped. Psalm 95 teaches us that real worship is God-centered worship. It has little to do with how we feel. This sermon unpacks this rich Psalm written for all. (Psalm 95)

In this look at Psalm 119 we look at 5 responses to the Word of God that the writer had and these same five responses can be ours too. We can rejoice over, delight in, meditate on, obey and love the Word of God. Psalm 119

Do you ever feel anxious or stressed? Do you ever feel like everything and everyone is pushing against you making life more difficult? The writer of Psalm 119 felt that same way. He found great comfort in the Word of God and so can we. (Psalm 119)

After David commits adultery and then murder he is confronted by Nathan the prophet about his sin. David admits his sin and asks God to forgive him based on God's character, not anything that David can do. God forgives David, but consequences remain. (Psalm 51; 2 Samuel 11 & 12; Hebrews 12:5-6, 10-11; 1 John 1:9)
