When considering how awesome and eternal God is and how small and temporary we are one of the responses is to live every day for God's glory and not selfishly living for ourselves. (Psalm 90)

Fear, stress, anxiety, boredom, exhaustion are just a few of the ways many of us feel on a daily basis. Does life need to lived this way? The Psalmist calls us to complete trust in God through being still and listening and submitting to the Almighty. (Psalm 46)

There is no substitute for a deep and personal relationship with the Living God. There are many good things in our world that we often place as priority in our lives but these are poor substitutes for God Himself, the only One who can truly satisfy us. (Psalm 42:1-11; Jonah 2:8)

David writes this Psalm of thanksgiving because we have such short memories. Six times the call goes out to remember to praise the Lord! So how can we who tend to forget remember? (Psalm 103:1-22)

God's faithfulness means that everything he says and does is certain. He is 100% reliable 100% of the time. When was the last time you really reflected on and reveled in the blessings of God's faithfulness in your life? (Lamentations 3;21-23; Psalm 86:15; 2 Timothy 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24; Psalm 100:4,5; Psalm 89:1)

The greatest expression of the God of mercy and grace is our salvation. How Amazing! (Exodus 34:6,7; 2 Corinthians 1:3; Ephesians 2:1-9)

God radically loves you. This is a simple, but powerful reality that can be forgotten in the drudgery and circumstances of everyday life. Yet when we stop to consider the love demonstrated by Jesus Christ on our behalf, we get to know the God who is love. (1 John 4:14-16; John 3:16; Romans 5:6-8; 1 John 4:10; other various verses)

Can you imagine how understanding and responding to the goodness of God could affect your whole life? (Psalm 145:7-9; Mark 10:17,18; James 1:17; 1 Timothy 4:5; 1 Thessalonians 5:18)

God is holy. God is just. Because He is holy and just and because there is sin, God is also wrathful. All of these attributes are worthy of our praise. The best and clearest example of these attributes in Scripture is the cross of Jesus Christ.

We all struggle with the "why" questions when bad things happen. Knowing the Sovereign God helps us move past the "why" questions and respond with stronger faith. (Revelation 19:6 Psalm 115:3 Job 42:2 Philippians 2:13 Romans 8:28 Revelation 21:3,4)

As David comes to know pervasive and personal power of the Omnipotent God, he responds with both a healthy sense of significance and self-worth; and with an unwavering devotion to God. (Psalm 139:13-18)

Understanding the Omnipresence of God helps us experience God protection from taking spiritual detours; God's help in delivering us from temptation; and God's healing from anxiety. (Psalm 139:7-12)

What difference would it make if you firmly believed that the most difficult thing in your life was being allowed and used by the all-knowing, all-wise God to produce the best possible results by the best possible means for the highest possible purpose? (Isaiah 40:13, 14; Psalm 139:1-6; Psalm 147:5; Romans 11:33)

The Self-existent and Self-Sufficient God doesn't exist for us or need us. We exist for him and desperately need him. So why did God create us and did God rescue us from our sin? And how should we respond to Him? (Exodus 3:13-15; Acts 17:22-28)

Because the true God is transcendent and eternal, we could never find him on our own. But God has pursued us and revealed himself to us so that we can know him and enter into a close relationship with him. (Psalm 97:9; Isaiah 40:12-26; Psalm 90:1,2; Exodus 3:14; John 8:58; Hebrews 1:1-3)

If life's greatest commandment is to love God, then life's greatest pursuit is to know God. Because loving God grows in direct proportion to knowing God. (Jeremiah 9:23,24; Jeremiah 2:13; Psalm 42:1,2; Psalm 63:1-3)

John 21 is like this bonus scene of a movie that gives us an up close look at Jesus's restoration of his broken relationship with Simon Peter. Through this intimate conversation we see Jesus's passion and power to restore Peter from shame to glory. (John 21:15-19)

The resurrection of Jesus Christ provides the solid proof and structural integrity for our faith (John 20:1-18)

Jesus suffered the cruelty of the cross for six hours. For most of that time, he suffered in silence punctuated by only a few statements. John 17 takes us into the Holy of Holies to listen in on the priestly prayer Jesus prays to the Father. If you listen carefully, and you might hear Jesus mention your name. John 17:1-26

In John 13, Jesus commands His disciples to serve others like He served them. And then He commanded them to love others like He loved them. Both are connected to the other. We say we love God but we prove it by serving others. (John 13:1-17; 34, 35)

One of the greatest ways we can glorify God is when we worship him. In John 4, Jesus gives a Samaritan woman and us some clear guidelines for true worship that God deserves and desires from us. (John 4:23,24)
