Wildcatdojo Conversations
Karate is for everyone. So, join us each week for a 20 to 25 minute conversation on all types of subjects. We go from managing the distractions of daily life, through martial arts history and people, and common sense concepts to add to your self defense armor. Plus we have interviews and so much more. After spending over 40 years discussing life's challenges in a dojo, (both as a student and as a teacher) I decided it would be fun to share the conversations with everyone. And it is! We're having a great time with our guests each week thinking, talking and very importantly sharing a laugh or tw...

Sensei Lydia joins in as we discuss this saying. What do you think about it? Have you ever heard it before? Let us know. This episode didn't spark us to reference any specific episodes, so I thought I'd just tag in the first episode we did on a Master Kelljchian saying. It is from December of 2019: https://www.buzzsprout.com/477379/episodes/1891706 Enjoy the show, keep in touch, and supp...
Shihan Tracy Seymour, A New Friend & An Amazing Interview 20.01.2025 24:59
This 25 minutes flies by with Shihan Seymour. We had a blast. A quick note: When we talked about the Urban Legacy Foundation (Please support it), Shihan talked, in detail, about every recipient so far. (her passion is palpable) Because of time I had to cut two of the scholarship recipients. Sorry guys, but you are welcome to be on the show and tell me your story if you every have extra time. En...

Starting 2025 with the Letter S 06.01.2025 20:35
What fun to start 2025 with Landyn available to record. We had a blast talking about words that start with 'S'. Somewhere in the conversation we discussed the anxiety you feel when you're starting something new. We tackled that in 2020. (Btw Landyn - we were both wrong, our guest was Sensei Jim - Hi Sensei). Here's a link to that episode: https://www.buzzsprout.com/477379/episo...
A Kata Saying and So Much More 30.12.2024 24:52
Landyn is back on the show - Yay! I found an old saying I'd written and it turned into a fun conversation with Landyn, myself, and Sensei Jackie. We cover a lot. For example, we touch on Japanese arts that aren't centered around fighting. We did a whole episode on that. Here's the link: https://www.buzzsprout.com/477379/episodes/10211761 And Swords: https://www.buzzsprout.com/4773...
Master Kelljchian Stories Part 2 23.12.2024 21:55

Another Amazing Interview - Hanshi George Alexander 09.12.2024 24:44
Today we meet Hanshi George Alexander. I love history and meeting new people, so this interview was a perfect fit. Hanshi Alexander had more stories than could fit into 25 minutes. (Keep an eye open for our "outtakes" episode.) He is knowledgeable, funny and motivational. Listen and you'll be a fan. (Thanks so much Hanshi.) This is the part where I remind you that you can scroll do...
Again, This Episode is no Ax-ident. (an archived episode) 02.12.2024 22:21
Back in 2020 we recorded this episode on axes. Landyn hates listening to his voice back then, but he was just as spontaneously funny then as he is now. Or should I say Punny!! Episodes about the history and use of weapons are some of my personal favorites. We think you'll like it too, so enjoy listening and let us know. This episode starts off with a reminder that you can click and donate....
What's Next? 25.11.2024 24:59
When I got the idea for this episode, it was from something I heard Grandmaster Urban say. Who better to have as a guest to add Grandmaster Urban's take than Hanshi Malanoski. Therefore, although we do get to the point, we're also regaled with wonderful stories about Grandmaster Urban. It's amazing to hear and for that I thank Hanshi. Stay tuned till the end if you want some real g...

How fun to put it here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/477379/episodes/1742635...

The Samurai People - Original air date: 4.2020 02.09.2024 19:42
Since September is a 5 week month-and therefore a 'rerun' month, I thought that this was a nice fit with 2 of the episodes of August - The Last Samurai battle and man. This episode doesn't need much explanation. Don't forget, though, that we ARE on insta @ wildcatdojoconversations. Hey - can I use the word 'remastered' for our reruns. I try to update the sound as tech...

The Martial Arts: A Children's Book Episode 12.08.2024 20:17
