What, Like It’s Hard?

Sam and Heather were feeling a bit witchy this week so they took a trip back to the 90's to one of the greatest witchy tales there is. As often happens, the 90's are a bit hard to swallow in some scenes so buckle up. Are you a Sarah or a Nancy? 

Sam is joined by Courtney this week as they dive back into the world of mutants. There are a lot of moving parts in this one but they covered all the bases. Sam and Heather somehow tumbled into the noir genre once again. This is a female driven story full of lots of action with a great cast, what's not to enjoy?  

Sam and Heather can barely get through this episode, sorry for all the giggles. Keeping it light for another week because spring makes us all a little giddy. Woof, sometimes these summaries are hard to come up with.............

Sam and Heather return to childhood in the early 90's with America's favorite pee wee hockey team. A group of hardened rascals are being coached by a damaged alcoholic how could it not lead to zany antics? Ok now everyone together- Quack....Quack.....Quack! 

Sam is joined this week by number one fan Dave, but you can call him Courtney's husband. As a first time guest Dave was responsible for the movie this week so buckle in for some historical silliness. 

Sam and Heather both agree that this movie is a total spook fest although Sam isn't quite sure she saw the whole thing. One thing is clear, don't piss off a witch. Oh and also human sacrifice is never ok

Sam and Heather return the world of YA book series made into movies. Although the Twilight Saga obviously has a special place in their hearts, this series is superior both in plot and what we see on the screen. Grab your tissues and get ready for a trip to Panem. 

Fun fact: this week's movie is single handedly responsible for this entire podcast! Snowpiercer is the first film that Sam and Heather obsessively discussed, dissected and dogged on solidifying their friendship and the eventual creation of this program. Buckle in friends, this one is a wild ride.  

Sam and Heather discuss a movie seeped in nostalgia for the two of them, a time when Pauly Shore was a king and we thought the world would be cured if we all picked up the trash. Covering this movie is like releasing embarrassing photos of when we were awkward 11 year olds.  

Sam is joined by Krista this week to discuss a comedy that actually delivers on the jokes. This one is also Heather approved! You may not have heard of this one because it was released at the peak of Covid but seriously give it a watch! 

Sam and Heather are diving into a new movie series to try and fill the void left behind since they've wrapped up the Twilight Saga. This series is a bit darker but the plot and acting may be on par? One thing is for certain, Devon Sawa will always hold a special place in Sam's heart. 

Sam and Heather discuss one of the craziest stories that they've ever heard and buckle in because it all really happened. They cover all three parts of the story but seriously go watch it because this docuseries takes you on a wild journey. There are some content warnings at the top of the episode.  

Sam continues to educate Heather in the world of superheroes with the continuation of their Avengers series. If you can believe it, Sam and Heather thought they really figured out a great recording method which of course ended up not working, sorry if this episode suffers from some significant plot holes. We live, we learn and hopefully we get better. 

Courtney is back on the show to discuss Anna Kendrick's directorial debut film. Sam is always down for supporting women but not always down for supporting an unsatisfying plot. Sorry about the audio quality, technical difficulties is just something you should expect by now. 

Sam and Heather discuss the likelihood of switching out this century for another, spoiler alert- not likely. Travel back to a slower time where women had no tampons and toilets didn't flush but you may just find love. This one is a little wild so buckle up. 

Omg everyone it is our 2 year anniversary!!! Sam and Heather are as shocked as you guys that they have been doing this for 2 whole years. Thank you so much for being a part of the journey and of course don't forget to tell your friends to listen too! 

Sam and Heather love a good thriller and this one has James McAvoy so they're all in. Although clearly the hero in this movie, Sam is not fully ready to forgive Mackenzi Davis for what she did to K Stew at Christmas (See Ep 47: Happiest Season), but we can all agree better to be a Mackenzi Davis rather than a Ben, just you wait and see! 

Sam is joined by her brother Andrew and somehow he picked the movie again. We watched this one waiting for a twist that maybe never showed up? If nothing else this film taught us the importance of practicing safety around deep fryers. 

Sam and Heather accidentally, but fittingly, discuss one of history's biggest Presidential scandals this week. This film is silly but we should all be inspired that truly anyone can make a big impact and curate great change. Ok Ok Ok let's just get into it already.  

Sam and Heather were ready for another installment of extraterrestrial adventure, they went with one neither of them had seen. Maybe they should stick to what they know. If you are an animal lover maybe skip watching this one and just listen to our episode instead. 

OMG you guys!!!! 100 episodes!!! Heather chose this film and it honestly is the perfect choice. Buckle in and get ready to feel all the feels. 

Courtney is back this week to discuss one of Sam's favorite super hero movies. Sam tries not to get too nerdy while Courtney tries to remember the character's names. Pick your power and your hero name and let's get into it.
