Huge announcement from the NWSL. Audi field is hosting the Championship November 21, 2026. The Spirit beat Seattle 2-1. They are now on a month long break. So we also have some college softball updates.

The Spirit are on a four game win streak! Can Jose explain it all? Next match May 10 against Seattle.

Well, it wasn't the ending Spirit fans wanted. But it was a great season. Fran returns to tell us all about what the final was like in person! And we recap some favorite moments from the season.

The Spirit won a great game in the semi-final against Portland, 2-0. And they are heading to the final against NY/NJ Gotham. Just like one of the water girls predicted! Thanks to our amazing photographer, Mike Stevens for the great photo for the episode. It captures sooo much emotion from the game and the moment Croix took the ball from the goalie to have a clear path to the goal!

Spirit cliniched home playoff games! We celebrate with new Spirit fan, Lauren! She tells us all about being a new fan AND teaches Marieka some soccer terms!

Stoppage time magic at Audi field! The Spirit scored in the final seconds of stoppage time to beat the Wave 2-1. We also discuss our press adventures this week. Spoiler, we asked coach about the short corner kicks to prep for this episode, but it turns out we aren't the only ones asking.

Spirit tied KC 0-0. Which is pretty good against the number one team in the league. And we recap the win against Seattle two weeks ago. ...and, as a bonus, we have a few stories from photographing college games.

KC clinched a playoff spot. Michelle Kang owns London City and is putting together a team to stay in the top tier of the WSL. Plus we cover a bit of women's college volleyball. And this was all recorded before the Spirit tied the Chicago Stars so we make wildly inaccurate predications for how the game will go.

The Water Girls + Fran went on a field trip to San Francisco to see ‘The Show’. Aka: the Spirit vs. Bay FC at Oracle Park (aka where the SF Giants play). It was epic to see a soccer game at a baseball stadium! Bay FC did a great job hosting and breaking the NWSL single game attendance record!

We took some field trips for the this episode! We went to the USWNT game at Audi field and then to the Mystics game against the Aces. Unfortunately, we did not make a field trip for the Euros but we do discuss!

July is pretty low key for the NWSL. The players have a mandated one week off per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Then the Spirit had another week off. So we just chatted random topics including the new USWNT kits and some WNBA news. Recorded July 1.

College Softball wrapped up this week and we have some thoughts! Plus we are so excited that Brittany Ratcliffe was named NWSL player of the week!

In a move that seems to have shocked everyone, Spirit head coach Jonatan Giraldez is leaving to become the head coach of OL Lyonnes (a club Michele Kang also owns). Spirt assistant coach Adrian Gonzalez will take over in June. .…and we pitch a new movie idea for Disney. Thoughts?

We recap the game plus discuss the various people we saw in the stands! Marieka spotted a U.S. Senator. And not to be outdone, Amy brings up the Olympian she saw at the airport.

Guest expert and Spirit fan, Payton, visits the show to tell us his thoughts about the last two Spirit games! .....and since one of those was a 0-3 loss to Gotham, we thought it would be more fun to put Marieka and Payton's knowledge of the NWSL to the test. Let us know if you beat their trivia knowledge!

In his third visit to the pod, Pineapple Kurt regals us with stories of how he watched the Spirit's playoff game on the day of his wedding! #dedication. And we talk the season so far and predictions! and timely to the WNBA draft, Kurt has seen some famous players when they visit the Squadron!

We wrap up our basketball coverage :) Then head into the Spirit v Louisville game where Spirit won 2-0 and Amy was there in person.

With 12 minutes left in the USWNT vs Brazil game, we started recording to break down our expert analysis of the play. Then we transition to the Womens basketball final four and our bracket challenge.

Spirit lost to KC and came back with a win against Bay FC. We give an update for the Water Girls Bracket Challenge. And we want to know what a Water Girls goal celebration would look like?

The 2025 NWSL season is under way! Amy was in person for the Challenge Cup in Orlando! And Marieka has some thoughts about the opener against Houston!

Emma Hayes dropped the USWNT roster for the SheBelieves cup happening later this year. We also chat the NWSL teams playing in the Coachella Valley Invitational this month, some Spirit news, and since it's still soccer pre-season, we also chat some college womens basketball.

The Spirit announced a docu-series about the 2024 season coming....sometime in the future. Plus Carly is back to tell us about a press conference she attended with Ashley Hatch and Tara McKeown.
