James continued our series, looking at how The Truth should transform us. John 17:17 says “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth”. James explored what this means and how it’s possible, reminding us that this happens both through the Word and through the Spirit, we cannot have one without the other. The truth transforms, it renews our minds, and ultimately brings freedom.

James gave talk no.1 of our new series 'The Truth: Jesus in a post-truth culture'. He began by reminding us that as Christians we have to understand what is going on in culture; what is is that people are thinking and feeling? What are their world views? As Christians we have a much better story to tell; we know that truth is found inside a person, and that person is Jesus.

On Sunday, Matt continued our theme of 'The Light'. At Christmas we remember that God first had to enter the world before He could enter our hearts. That Jesus, the true light, was coming to transform our world forever.

From the New Testament writers through to to scholars today, Isaiah 53 has been used to understand the work of the cross of Christ. Paul took us through the passage and challenged us to never lose sight of the cross, the foundation of our faith, to which it points.

Sunday was our 10th birthday as Cardiff Vineyard Church! We celebrated all that God has done in the last ten years, and looked forward to the next ten to come, and all the people yet to come. James spoke on the Pearl of Great Price, and reminded us that although it costs, spiritual treasure changes our lives utterly and totally, and Jesus is totally worth it.
