Even seeing a few clips prior to this, this is still a first timer for me... And I didn't expect that. Some things just catch me off guard. That is all. Enjoy, y'all.

It's a Happy Friday indeed!... That is all I have to say. I've been longing for a trailer, but they gave me pics from the film instead and I am in NO WAY complaining. Enjoy, y'all.

As someone who was heavily into writing Hip Hop music way back when, I can appreciate when one would decide to want to branch off and do something different... Maybe some acting per say. There's times when we as an audience see an artist transition right before our eyes on screen and become a whole presence in a single role. Then there's other times when we'd wish they'd just stick to writing rhym...

Sleepless nights may often mean that I should be doing one of two things: writing or recording... And since today marks a special day in horror history for me, I decided to take a look back at a bunch of my favorite demons. Outside of the demons being on point here, this is one of the best motley crew type casts I've seen in a horror siege film. So add those elements together and throw in Billy Za...

Every time I hear a Billie Holiday song, it makes me want to sit in a lounge chair with a glass of scotch and just space out to her voice... Her music and era was way before my time but since I grew up on good music, I have an ear for the most nostalgic pieces of it. But this here will be so much more than just a music based biopic on screen. And I'm fine with that. It gives myself and others a be...

Hollywood is notorious for getting greedy and wanting sequels after seeing the success of an original film... But that doesn't mean that thr star actors or directors share the same sentiment. I go back and forth with the idea of sequels because some of them are so hit/miss, there was no need to taint the first one. These examples I talk about here are the same hit/miss thing for me, but I'm sure p...

With all the excitement surrounding these next two Halloween sequels, which will be the final entries in this particular timeline, there's always a question lingering in the back of my head: where do they go from there?... There's no doubt in my mind that Blumhouse will continue making sequels if all goes well, but it's always a matter of what they do and how they do it. The possibilities for a Ha...

This trailer goes out of it's way to let the viewers know "This is not a love story", and that "This is the story of love"... Noted. But when we're talking black cinema and romantic comedies or just romantically driven films overall, The Photograph is still at the top as one of the best since Love Jones. But something about the Indie feel and simplicity is what is interesting about this here. My b...

What a find... This was always one of my favorite movies growing up, and still is. The fact that this is a very metta comedy which breaks the fourth wall continuously throughout has always been one of it's strengths. Before Austin Powers, this was the role that made Mike Myers a national treasure for me, regardless of his critical bad apple films he has done. Also the Bohemian Rhapsody sequence is...

The old saying goes "There's a time and a place for everything"... But try telling that to a money hungry box office behemoth like Disney/Marvel. That's not to say that I don't thoroughly enjoy many of their films, because I do, but this is one move they're about to make that will make or break my trust with them. With the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther 2 still seems to be very mu...

All I have to say is "wow"... I was at a loss for words when the news first broke that Michael Keaton was not only returning to play Batman in The Flash solo film, but that he's set to be the DCEU's main Batman. Yes, it threw me off as well. So I finally figured out the words to describe both my joy and my concern. Enjoy, y'all.

Before anybody gets the wrong idea, let me just say that (if I haven't said it during every other episode at some point) this guy is my favorite writer/director and NOTLD is my favorite movie of all time... But with every director's legacy comes the growing pains of learning every film you make won't get the same response. In this case, and while not all the films are terrible at all, the "Dead" s...

One thing about me is that it's very hard to get a jump or jolt out of me when it comes to horror flicks... Even as a kid, what scared the majority of genre fans didn't phase me much at all. But there's always something or someone in a movie that keeps me up nights. It doesn't always have to be the central antagonist either, and sometimes a character that has few scenes or only one is the icing on...

As someone who isn't the biggest fan of the original Exorcist film (calm down, I think it's well made, just not epic), this is a topic that surprisingly was on the brain for a bit... So I had to talk about it in full. While the movies may vary in overall quality over the years and while a tv series came and went, Blumhouse and Morgan Creek decided to "exorcise" their right to do a direct sequel to...

So being as though I'm all about fellow creative support, especially when it's for someone I know personally, it was time to give this a spin... This guy has been a creative artist since I met him in high school, so the respect is still there. But while the respect is heavy, we shall see how heavy the crown is he keeps on top of his head. Enjoy, people.

I finally go down to finishing an entire series... This is a big thing, on the low. But it's an accomplishment nonetheless. Enjoy, people.

With the new Coming 2 America sequel coming in 2021, and being 33 years in the making, something hit me this evening... I realized I had to get out of my own thought process when it comes to decade (plus) old sequels being made, and understand that some of them actually work at times. Other times, not so much. So it's both hit or miss in this category, but risky business nonetheless. With that bei...

There's even the most hated third entries in this genre that I have lots of love for... Scream 3, Child's Play 3, Halloween III, etc. And something about every third go round is supposed to come full circle and channel back to the first, for more nostalgic purposes. But THESE? Absolutely not. These are the pick of the litter that made studios and creators head straight back to that drawing board,...

What another find this was... One of my all time favorite movies from when I was a kid and even now, and still very effective. But since it's a real OG's birthday, I had to celebrate the man Solomon aka Ernie Hudson in this movie. I could have done Ghostbusters but if I can be honest, this movie is closer to my heart as far as content and structure goes. That, and Rebecca De Mornay is a classic nu...

Six movies into this insane series, and somehow a seventh has had my complete interest since it was announced last year or so... That's a bold statement from me, considering the fact that every movie after the original has gone straight to DVD. But with an unknown director (to me anyhow) and the writer of the first film (Halloween 4's Alan B. McElroy) attached, I can only think of what they can pu...

I love me some DC news, especially since I'm always most excited to see them flourish and get their much deserved shine on screen... Being as though Wonder Woman, as a whole, has completely turned me around interest wise, I am definitely looking forward to this sequel. Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig duking it out will always peak my interest for sure. Enjoy, y'all.

With 2021 about to bless me with a brand new and rated R version of my beloved MK, I decided to talk about something that both caught my total interest and made me a bit sad at the same time... Mortal Kombat: Devastation, the flick we could've gotten once upon a time. With how MK: Annihilation divided so many fans with it's cluttered and unexplained execution, I feel like this would've been the on...

I've been putting this one here off a lot longer than I should've... Controversial and unpopular opinion or not, what I say here sticks for as long as I shall live. And this is all coming from someone who was a borderline Halloween 1978 purist, until I noticed that the series has been doing all types of weird shit all along. But for any fans or haters tuning in, buckle up for this one. Enjoy, peop...

So over the past two days, I decided to take a few people up on their recommendations and check out the Cobra Kai Netflix series... Two seasons. And surely enough I was in no way prepared to go down memory lane the way I did, all while that lane was connected to a roller coaster of emotion and action out of this world. This is easily one of the best tv series I've ever watched. Whether it was base...

Since Cuffing Season is back in effect, it was only right... I feel like this one speaks for itself, people. It's the black culture version of Fatal Attraction, minus the bunny rabbit and the stove and such. Enjoy, folks.
