Genesis 41: Pharaoh’s Dreams NKJV 1   Then it came to pass, at the end of two full years , that Pharaoh had a dream;  and behold, he stood by the river.   Joseph was in prison, forgotten by Pharaoh’s butler, for two more full years. There was difficulty and discouragement in those years for Joseph, but we believe he trusted God nonetheless. Many lessons come from this.

GENESIS 40      Prisoners’ Dreams “The Butler and the Baker” Joseph, still in prison, prospered in his circumstances. The end of Genesis 39 shows the great authority and responsibility Joseph had in the operations of the prison,  even as a prisoner.

Now in chapter 28 Isaac called Jacob and blessed him, and sent him to  Paddan Aram , a  district of Mesopotamia , (Haran is the exact place) so that he would find a wife among his mother’s people  rather than among the Canaanites.  This inspired Esau to try to  regain his father’s blessing by marrying a daughter of Ishmael . It was a case of doing evil (multiplying wives)  that good might come.

The process of time, Isaac was approximately 137 years old now when he sought to bless his son Esau. While Isaac felt his death was imminent due to failing eyesight, he actually lived for another 43 years, dying at 180 (Genesis 35:28). At this time, his twin sons, Jacob and Esau, were 77 years old.

Water wells play a large part in today’s study, spoiler alert, these wells represent a spiritual connection in each of us with the Holy Spirit. Pay close attention how Isaac re-digging these wells brings life back to each region. Our wells can go spiritually dry. Please never walk away from your faith foolishly thinking, “that didn’t work”.
