The "Christmas Story" in the Old Testament is not a narrative of the birth events themselves, but rather a collection of detailed prophecies and foreshadowing that anticipate the birth, life, and purpose of Jesus Christ. Today we dove into Genesis 15 to learn about the covenant that God made with Abram and what it looks like for us.

Today we studied Genesis 14 and had 10 members of our community baptised along with one baby dedication.

Today we had our Picnic in the park after studying Genesis 13.

Abraham certainly was a giant of faith, even being called the father of all believing. Genesis 12:1-3 is a repeat promise that God had said to Abram. God is so patient, He repeats the promise, now that his father was dead and Abram was compelled to a more complete obedience.

You’ll notice three references in this chapter to the division of the people. Verse 5 describes the division of the Japhetic tribes into their different areas. Verse 25 tells us that the division of the earth (at Babel) took place in the days of Peleg. In this chapter it tells us that after the Flood, people were permitted to eat meat for the first time. Eating of blood was forbidden, because the blood is the life of the flesh, and the life belongs to God.

GENESIS 3:8 - 4 The fall of men has happened. Sometimes at least to me it seems like such a minor offence, “it’s just an apple God”, (or whatever fruit it was).
