Revelation 20 was about the Mellennial reign of Christ.  Chapter 21 is about the New Heaven and the New Earth.  John the Revelator is going through persecution. He has seen many Christians killed for their faith in Christ.  He was boiled in hot oil, but survived and now he is exiled on the island of Patmos.  In this chapter the Lord is going to give John a glimpse of Heaven to encourage him.  

Satan tried to imprison Jesus in a tomb, but couldn't.  Here, God has no problem restraining Satan, and this incarceration is not for punishment, but restraint.  By implication Satan's demonic armies are aslo restrained and imprisoned. Religious Babylon of Revelation 17 is judged at the mid-point of the seven year tribulation period.  Commercial Babylon is judged at the end of that period.   Chapter 18 deals with the judgment upon Babylon.

These Vial Judgments are the last of the judgments before Jesus returns to this earth.

The LORD will deal with this sinful world during the tribulation, and the Vial Judgments are the last of the judgments right before Jesus returns.

The LORD does not overlook all the wickedness on the earth, but his wrath just builds up.  In this chapter we will see God's fierce wrath as it will be unleashed upon this sinful world.

The first time Jesus came to the earth, He came to seek and to save that which was lost(Luke 19:10).  The second time will be to judge the living and the dead(2 Timothy 4:1).  In this message we see the devastation of God's final judgment upon the earth.

In the beginning of chapter 14 we see the pattern of the 144,000 and how they lived through the Tribulation.  Also we see the angels that preach the everlasting gospel.  These are patterns for us to follow.

In this chapter we see that the Lord marks out what belongs to Him.  The Temple, the altar, and the worshippers belong to Him.  We will also see that the two witnesses in this chapter will make a dramatic impact during the Tribulation.

The Six Trumpets have sounded, and the Seventh Trumpet is about to sound. First, there will be  a pause that goes from Revelation 10:1 - 11:14.  During these pauses God comforts his people with the knowledge that he has not forgotten them, and that they will ultimately be victorious.

The Trumpet Judgments began in chapter 8 and will continue in chapter 9. The first four trumpets destroy the earth. The fifth trumpet will release demons that will torment humanity.  The sixth trumpet produces four demons that will destroy 1/3 of all people, and the seventh trumpet will introduce the bowl judgments.
