October 30, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 30.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: We should try to find Christ Jesus in all things. Mostly, because He alone is the giver of true peace and lasting happiness. Too much love for earthly things draws people away from joy and wisdom. We’re in the business of bringing souls to the Father, starting with our own souls. As Christians, we are reminded of this eternal truth. Or, as we read today Sunday ( Lk 19:1-10 )...

October 29, 2022, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 29.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Today, we pray the Sorrowful Mysteries recorded at St. Catherine of Sienna, in Greenwich, Connecticut, prior to the funeral mass for María Blanca, Blanki.  A group of friends of María Blanca, including Fr. Miguel Bernal, participated faithfully in the prayer of the Rosary. As Fr. Miguel said during his homily, "the largest source of unhappiness is trying to find life wi...

October 28, 2022, Feast of Sts. Jude and Simon, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 28.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Today, on the feast day of the apostles St Jude Thadeus and Simon the Zealot, we remember María Blanca, Blanki, a courageous woman, wife, and mother of three who offered her extreme pain in the hospital for the conversion of souls. She was a gift of God to those who knew and met her. For myself and my family, she was the center of our lives. Today, we feel what she is waitin...

October 27, 2022, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 27.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: No form of devotion is more widely practiced and recommended by popes than the Holy Rosary. Many saints encouraged us to pray the Rosary daily, as the Blessed Mother asked. Among them, Teresa of Avila, Francis de Sales, Louis de Montfort, Alphonsus Liguori, Don Bosco, Bernadette, Maximilian Kolbe, Faustina Kowalska, John Paul II, and Padre Pio. The authentic Rosary is a comb...

October 26, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 26.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: We tend to blame others for everything wrong around us. Occasionally, we might have a point, but we are often the ones to blame. In Mark 7:21-23, Christ Jesus said: “For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come f...

October 25, 2022, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 25.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: The Rosary of Mary is leading our lives. We both meditate and supplicate to the Mother of God through this insistent prayer. She is "all-powerful by grace," as Blessed Bartolo Longo in his  Supplication to Our Lady  wrote. This is a conviction of truly Christian people. How much joy and hope give us the Most Holy Virgin. The Rosary is a spiritual journey toward per...

October 24, 2022, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 24.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Today, October 24th, is, according to the Roman Calendar of 1960, the feast day of Saint Raphael the Archangel, one of the seven Archangels who stand before the Lord. He is also one of the only three mentioned by name in the Bible, along with Gabriel and Michael (Luke 1:9–26; Jude 1:9). On September 29th, we celebrated the feast of the three of them. Empowered with heal...

October 23, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 23.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Building the Kingdom of Heaven on earth requires full humility. Any stain of pride, including spiritual pride, will ruin any endeavor. No human exercised better the virtue of humility than the Holy Mary. With her Fiat during the mystery of the Annunciation, the Blessed Mother corrected the history of sin of mankind. In today’s Sunday reading (Lk 18:9-14), Jesus Christ said t...

October 22, 2022, Memorial of St. John Paul II, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 22.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Memorial Day of St. John Paul II, the beloved contemporary Pope named Karol Jozef Wojtyla. Born in 1920 in Wadowice, Poland, he was known for exceptional apostolic zeal, particularly for families, young people, and the sick. He enriched the Magisterium, promulgated the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and instituted the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. On May...

October 21, 2022, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 21.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Parishes that have the Holy Rosary prayer in their daily schedule thrive. Those that refuse to do that — the vast majority of them — just survive. What’s worse is when you see a parish denying the divine origin of the Rosary by saying that Mary didn’t handle anything to St. Dominic. More specifically, this month, a parish in the Diocese of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was statin...

October 20, 2022, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 20.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: There is no one who has followed in the footsteps of the Incarnate Word more closely and with more merit than the Most Holy Virgin Mary. Her invitation to meditate on the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous Mysteries makes the Rosary the perfect summary of the Gospel and Christian life. The Holy Rosary is a nurturer of Christian faith, morality, and spiritual perfectio...

October 19, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 19.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: A critical thing that requires our constant vigilance is anger.   "For the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God," as James the Apostle wrote in his first letter. Anger separates us from divine wisdom. Also, we must be extremely vigilant about our tongues. Our tongue can behave as pure evil if we don’t control it. How often do we repent for things we ha...

October 18, 2022, Feast of St. Luke, Evangelist, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 18.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Today, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of St. Luke, the author of the third Gospel and of the Acts of the Apostles. Luke was a native of Antioch in Syria and a physician, and one of the early converts from paganism. He accompanied St. Paul on a considerable part of his missionary journey. His name means “bringer of light.” The Gospel of Luke emphasizes the fact...

October 17, 2022, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 17.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: We can live in the Spirit or in the flesh. The choice is 100% ours. We are with Christ or against him. We exist for the praise of his glory and follow His word of truth or we exist to embrace the world’s values and pleasures set by darkness. There is no middle ground. Relativism is darkness; being a lukewarm believer is not Christian. How do we know in what sphere we play? S...

October 16, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 16.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: In today Sunday’s main reading (Lk 18:1-8), Jesus asked his disciples: "When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?" Also, in today’s second reading (2 Tm 3:14-4:2), St Paul exhorted us to "remain faithful to what you have learned and believed," as "the sacred Scriptures are capable of giving us wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus." The thirteenth...

October 15, 2022, Memorial of St. Teresa of Avila, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 15.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: We celebrate today the memorial of the sixteenth-century mystic and reformer of Carmelite, St. Teresa of Avila. As a child, Teresa felt captivated by the thought of eternity and the vision of God granted to the saints in heaven. When she was 14, her mother died, causing the girl a profound grief that prompted her to embrace a deeper devotion to the Virgin Mary as her sp...

October 14, 2022, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 14.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: These days, we heard the new ethnocentric view of Elon Musk, the richest man on earth, talking about taking over other planets and creating a new religion. Is this something new? Well, it sounds like vanity of vanities . It’s all human arrogance, a sin contrary to the humility of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and all of the apostles, prophets, saints, and people of goodwill across hi...

October 13, 2022, Sixth Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima and the Miracle of the Sun, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 13.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Today, October 13th is the date of our Blessed Mother’s final public appearance to the shepherd children of Fatima and the Miracle of the Sun . From May through October 1917, Our Lady of Fatima / Our Lady of the Rosary appeared and spoke to the children on the 13th day of each month. The Miracle of the Sun, which took place on October 13, 1917, was attended by a large crowd...

October 12, 2022, Feast of Our Lady of the Pillar, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 12.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Today, October 12, is the feast of Our Lady of the Pillar, Nuestra Señora del Pilar, the Patroness of the Hispanic peoples and Spain. In the year 40, while living in Jerusalem, the Blessed Virgin Mary supernaturally appeared to the Apostle James the Greater while he was preaching in the old Hispania, on the bank of the Ebro river in Saragossa. It was the first Mari...

October 11, 2022, Feast of Divine Maternity of Mary, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 11.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Today is the memorial of the contemporary pope St. John XXIII, beatified by St. John Paul II in the year 2000. Also, we celebrate the Motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary or the Divine Maternity of Mary. Across history, starting in the fourth and fifth centuries, heretics — and heresy comes from darkness — have refused to honor Mary as Mother of God. The Council of Ephesus...

October 10, 2022, Columbus Day, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 10.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Today, Columbus Day is the celebration of Christopher Columbus’ discovery of the Americas on October 12, 1492. Christopher Columbus, a native of the city-state of Genoa, was the explorer who discovered the Americas for the Catholic Queen Isabella and King Fernando of Spain. Columbus was a complex man in a complicated time; he was neither the barbarian portrayed by the modern...

October 9, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 09.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: In that time, on his way to Jerusalem to suffer a sorrowful passion, Jesus Christ cured ten lepers, as we read in the Gospel of St. Luke today (Luke 17:11-19). Only one leper returned and thanked his benefactor. The other nine didn’t have the decency to show a minimum of gratitude. Once again, it amazes us the depth of human ingratitude toward the Author of Life. We are asha...

October 8, 2022, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 08.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: Yesterday, during the feast day of Our Lady of the Rosary, we addressed Mary as Our Lady of Victories and the Queen of Victories. These titles have deep meaning. With her motherly intercession, Mary helps us to win our battles against Evil. She teaches us the path of victory: humility and obedience to the will of God, as we learn in the first Joyful Mystery today. To the Ang...

October 7, 2022, Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 07.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: We celebrate today Our Lady of the Rosary, a feast instituted by Pope St. Pius V to honor the Blessed Mother in thanksgiving for the naval victory over the Turks at the battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571. The Islamic forces were about to conquer Europe imposing their ideology. Many Europeans recited the Rosary asking for protection to the Most Holy Mary. The Old Conti...

October 6, 2022, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 06.10.2022

Friends of the Rosary: October is the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary. We continue praying the Rosary in San Jose, California. In 1206, the Most Holy Virgin Mary appeared to the Spanish priest — and later, founder of the Dominican Order — St. Dominic of Guzman. Because of his lack of success in combating the Albigensian heresy in the south of France, St Dominic went into hard praying and severe...
