November 23, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 23.11.2022 31:17
Friends of the Rosary: As we prepare for the Advent season that will start next Sunday, we reflect upon the Kingship of Christ, whose solemnity was last Sunday. God the Father bestowed upon Christ the nations of the world as His special possession and dominion. Christ is the Head of the Church, which the powers of darkness cannot destroy — despite its countless attacks in the last two-thousand yea...
November 22, 2022, Memorial of St. Cecilia, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 22.11.2022 33:02
Friends of the Rosary: Today, we celebrate the Memorial of St. Cecilia, a virgin and martyr in the 3rd century. St. Cecilia is one of the most famous and venerated Roman saints. Cecilia led a life of prayer and meditation. She was a witness of purity and praise, an example of a life lived in the world but not of the world, and of fidelity to Christ that is not afraid even of death. In 1599 her gra...
November 21, 2022, Memorial of the Presentation of Mary, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 21.11.2022 29:34
Friends of the Rosary: Today, we celebrate the Memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. St. Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary, brought her infant daughter to the Temple. Mary was offered to God in the Temple by her grateful, aged parents when she was three years old. This was done to fulfill a vow that Anne had made when an angel appeared to her, telling her that she would become...
November 20, 2022, Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 20.11.2022 31:41
Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, formerly referred to as "Christ the King”. This feast was established by Pope Pius XI in 1925 as an antidote to an unfaithful way of life that leaves God out of man's thinking and living and organizes life as if God did not exist. Today’s solemnity proclaims Christ's royalty over individuals, fa...
November 19, 2022, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 19.11.2022 28:50
Friends of the Rosary: After the big tribulation, announced in the Book of Revelation (Rv 11:4-12), as we read today, the Heavens will be open again, and Our Trinitarian God will come to rescue the faithful and bring them with Him. These things will happen, as written, regardless we see them or not. The Enemy of Christ is operating on earth in a big time today. One of his cheats is to persuade a m...
November 18, 2022, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 18.11.2022 34:19
Friends of the Rosary: Today, on Memorial Day dedicated to the Basilicas of St. Peter and St. Paul in Rome, we pray and meditate upon the Sorrowful Mysteries from Orlando, Florida... From another resort today! Do we realize how blessed we are to have faith? We notice it when we see a relative or friend around us who is struggling because of a lack of faith. God is treating us very well giving us d...
November 17, 2022, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 17.11.2022 30:24
Friends of the Rosary: We also pray the Luminous Mysteries Rosary from a Walt Disney resort in Orlando, Florida. How many gifts have we received from God? Life, talents, soul. Everyone has many talents. We are meant to grow them for our own food and the glory of God — which is the same! Faithful are called to make good use of talents, as we learn in the reading yesterday (Luke 19:11-28). Jes...
November 16, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 16.11.2022 31:07
Friends of the Rosary: We pray today's Rosary from a Disney resort in Orlando, Florida. Being a man of prayer is a huge accomplishment. Jesus Christ was a man of prayer, and so were the apostles, prophets, and saints. None prayed to be seen or take credit. The holy people of earth pray to be conformed to God. The Divinity knows already what we need. It’s hilarious to think that we are informing or...
November 15, 2022, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 15.11.2022 31:00
Friends of the Rosary: At that time, Jesus said (Jn 17:20-26) to His Father, "The world does not know you." Also, He asked (Lk 18:8) "When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" Two thousand years later, a vast part of the world continues showing the same ignorance. Men and women continue finding solutions to their happiness in the wrong sources — namely, pleasures, money, and hon...
November 14, 2022, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 14.11.2022 29:43
Friends of the Rosary: Through the parable of the persistent widow (Luke 18:1–8) — that we read last Saturday — Jesus Christ exhorts us to pray with persistence. This command is everywhere in the Old and New Testaments. The Son of God’s teaching is clear: “Knock and the door shall be opened to you; seek and you will find; ask and it will be given to you.” Why persistence is so critical? The Lord w...
November 13, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 13.11.2022 33:27
Friends of the Rosary: In yesterday’s reading (Jn 17:20-26), Jesus Christ stated what was the goal of His prayer: “I pray not only for these but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us.” All be one. That’s the destiny of the human race: to become one with the Father, the Son, and the...
November 12, 2022, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 12.11.2022 30:55
Friends of the Rosary: How often the homilies we heard on Sundays are uninspiring? Most importantly, why is that? A top Italian theologian and Cardinal Raniero Cantalamessa said that pastors in parishes deliver soft messages to avoid any conflict. The problem is that a tailor-made doctrine is mostly useless. Faithful people want to hear — and see it in practice — the message of Jesus Christ. And t...
November 11, 2022, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 11.11.2022 30:47
Friends of the Rosary: Through the Rosary, we go through every stage of Jesus' and Mary's earthly life. The Holy Spirit uses our minds to sync ourselves with the immaculate heart of Mary. With the meditation of the Rosary, we empty our minds by filling them with the virtues of Christ the Lord and the Blessed Virgin. Through the Hole Rosary, the love and the power of Jesus Christ and His beloved Mo...
November 10, 2022, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 10.11.2022 28:05
Friends of the Rosary: We pray today's Rosary from Brooklyn, New York. When we pray for the holy souls in purgatory, we also nurture our expectation of heaven and the union with God. It's also important to reflect upon the fact that when we pass away all our earthly successes, achievements, and gains, along with prestigious titles and honors, will vanish. We will be examined in terms of love — how...
November 9, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 09.11.2022 30:27
Friends of the Rosary: As we celebrate the month dedicated to All Souls in purgatory, we wonder about what special merits we will need to demonstrate on the final judgment of God before the Resurrection. We certainly don’t want to arrive into the judgment day hands-empty. The possibility that Jesus Christ tells us “I don’t know you” scares us deeply. So, what to do? Well, to be welcomed into Parad...
November 8, 2022, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 08.11.2022 28:40
Friends of the Rosary: On each Rosary we start our petitions asking for us, God’s people, who are one Body in Christ, as St. Paul reminded us in the letter read last Friday (Rom 12:3-13). As part of the Mystical Body of Christ, the Catholic and Apostolic Church, we all play different functions. There is the hierarchy, the priests, the consecrated, and the laypeople. No one is above each other beca...
November 7, 2022, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 07.11.2022 31:19
Friends of the Rosary: The truth of the Resurrection and life everlasting, which is central to our faith, has few mentions in the Old Testament. Moreover, many followers of the Law of the Prophets believed that the end of earthly life was the end of our human existence. Only a few passages sensed that the Resurrection was part of the history of salvation. Yesterday, in the first Sunday reading, in...
November 6, 2022, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 06.11.2022 32:42
Friends of the Rosary: In today’s reading (Lk 20, 27-38), Jesus Christ gives us a clue about how life in Heaven will be. He reveals that souls “can no longer die, for they are like angels.” Today’s society has missed the horizon of eternity. We tend to forget that our earthly life is temporary and that true life takes place in Heaven, with the Communion of Saints, in the New Jerusalem, united with...
November 5, 2022, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 05.11.2022 28:25
Friends of the Rosary: In the second Joyful Mystery, Mary chanted the Magnificat (Lk 1:14), the greatest of all chants. "My soul magnifies the Lord," the Most Holy Virgin said. That's exactly what She does through the Rosary — her Rosary! Magnify means to "make larger", and that's what Mary does in our lives: She makes Her divine Son larger and more real than we ever imagine. We pray t...
November 4, 2022, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 04.11.2022 31:39
Friends of the Rosary: It’s easy to love people who are friendly and likable. But what about loving those who offend and insult us? Dismissing them, arguing that they reject the faith and the love of God, is an excuse. These folks are suffering immensely and they deserve our help. In truth, anyone who doesn’t live for the Divinity and for helping their neighbors is a really damaged person. To them...
November 3, 2022, Holy Rosary (Luminous Mysteries) 03.11.2022 31:32
Friends of the Rosary: November is the month dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. These souls are holy because they belong to people who passed away in God’s grace and friendship and they are in the previous step to receive the crown of eternal glory and joy. Now, these souls are in a purifying suffering stage before they achieve complete holiness. The good news is that these souls will go to...
November 2, 2022, All Souls Day, Holy Rosary (Glorious Mysteries) 02.11.2022 30:41
Friends of the Rosary: Today is the Commemoration of All Souls’ Day, also known the All the Faithful Departed. After celebrating the feast of All Saints, today we pray for all who are in the purifying suffering of Purgatory awaiting the day they will join God in His heavenly glory, along with the company of saints. On departing from the body, souls are not perfectly cleansed from ve...
November 1, 2022, Solemnity of All Saints, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries) 01.11.2022 31:58
Friends of the Rosary: Today, on the first of November, we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints. This feast was instituted to honor all of the saints — both canonized and uncanonized, both known and unknown — now in Heaven enjoying the beatific vision of God. Among the saints in heaven are some whom we have known, including many relatives (María Blanca, in my case). All lived on earth journeys li...
October 31, 2022, Holy Rosary (Joyful Mysteries) 31.10.2022 32:53
Friends of the Rosary: Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 1, is the solemnity of All Saints; and on Wednesday, November 2, is All Souls Day — in Spanish, el Día de Los Fieles Difuntos. Today is the Eve of All Saints, commonly known as Halloween, which has Catholic ties. In England, saints or holy people are called “hallowed,” hence the name “All Hallows’ Day.” The evening before the All Saints feast beca...
