I’m tired. You’re tired. We don’t have enough for the needs we’re facing. God doesn’t demand more from us. He does more in us and through us, and all he asks for in return is for us to see him and be with him!

We are all constantly facing decisions - some larger and more complex than others. In this episode in the Gospel of Mark, we encounter a tragic story of unstable faith and catastrophic results. How can we learn from what we are cautioned about, and how can we proactively prepare ourselves for the choices we face?

For many of us, Pentecost is a distant holiday celebration. But perhaps as we explore the birthday of the Christian Church we will find ourselves longing for the Pentecost-perspective and impact in us and through us!

Facing rejection, relational tension, is all too familiar to Jesus (especially in his hometown, and even his own family). But he shows us how to navigate those challenges well and sends us out (while all the while never leaving us)!

In two different desperate situations, Jesus intimately meets people's needs. In episodes like these we can see the radical heart that Jesus demonstrates! Be encouraged in the ways in which he meets your needs and those around you, and also consider ways in which we can similarly extend his heart and works.

This week we encounter the question of the whole Gospel of Mark, “Who then is this?” Even after all the encounters and experiences with Jesus, this question still leaves people at a pivotal point with just who Jesus really is and what our answer means for us.

Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God far more than any other topic. But for most of us this is a foreign or even uncomfortable concept. Where is it? What does it look like? Why is it not more impressive? This week we strive to allow the Kingdom (or the reign) of God to more fully come over and through our lives.

God has chosen to reveal the vast mysteries of his self-revelation and will to us, not in one big dump, but gracefully measured and layered. The beauty of this is that we are always learning, always exploring, and always coming back to him for more!

This Easter Sunday we ask that the lost, the uncommitted, would be drawn to Jesus and drawn together as the church! Each of us must answer a key question: What is everyone so happy about? That answer reveals to us God’s pursuit of us and his power in us.
