Jables is still laid up so we're home viewing this week, though sadly our gamble on The Misfits doesn't pay off as even a reliable Pierce Brosnan can't save what turns out to be the worst heist we've ever joined. At least separate trips to the cinema over the weekend means we can talk about The Duke and Cyrano, plus Producer Ben has finally caught up with Boba Fett.

We can't help but compare Kenneth Branagh's new adaptation to the superior 1978 version and there's a mixed response in the JSJ team. Plus we're talking about The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, Blumhouse's Fantasy Island and, finally, The Book of Boba Fett.

Jables has been laid up this week so there's a lot of streaming to talk about (Reacher, The Hunt, Mother Android and Jurassic Park retrospective) - which is a relief as we struggle to find good things to say about Uncharted. At least there's the Star Wars quote quiz to look forward to! 

We're back together in the cinema this week, and where to start with this sci-fi disaster movie? Gravity meets The Martian via 2012, Contact, Twister, Elysium, Armageddon and Geostorm. Can that really be a good thing? Plus Jables can't decide if he likes Love or not, Our Kid and Producer Ben catch up on Get Back! and we introduce a film quote quiz - with mixed results.

Our Kid and Producer Ben call in from their holiday this week, so we're enjoying this quirky comedy based on the multiplayer VR game - Knives Out meets Northern Exposure! Also, Jables gets unexpectedly evangelical about the Beatles documentary Get Back! on Disney+ and we're finally getting back into The Book of Boba Fett. 

It's Just No Jables this week as Jables sees to a work emergency. Fortunately Our Kid and Producer Ben are on hand to hold the fort, even if that means a wander through the two distinct halves of Nightmare Alley. Also, Our Kid has finally got round to watching What If..? in a week of cheesy 90s mysteries and Producer Ben gets the chance to talk about Harry's Garage on YouTube.

Racking up a new entry in yet another pre-existing universe, the new Scream film is a flat point. In streaming, Jables is enjoying Cheer and Afterlife on Netflix, Producer Ben's keeps the highbrow vibe going with Pavarotti and And Just Like That doesn't get any better for Our Kid. We also find ourselves asking the question: would you go out with someone who doesn't appreciate Teen Wolf?

This energetic prequel makes up for some of the horrors of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, though isn't without it's cringey moments. In the world of streaming, Jables keeps it highbrow with Jackie and Our Kid has become obsessed with reruns of Elementary on Prime, allowing Producer Ben to sneak off and watch Wrath of Man and The Gentlemen. Plus initial thoughts on The Book of Boba Fett and Netflix's...

We see in 2022 with the latest Matrix installment...or do we? Yes, we do, but may well wish we didn't! Plus thoughts on our festive viewing including Hawkeye, Don't Look Up and Encounter, and Jables tips Riz Ahmed as the next James Bond - you heard it here first!

It's our last episode of 2021 and what better way to celebrate than invite a couple of special guests along to talk about what we'll be watching over the festive season. Enjoy, and see you next in 2022!

Spiderman's back in Queens and so is a little thing called the Multiverse, with some old friends popping up for an exciting and emotional opening night at The Majestic. If you loved the early Resident Evil games, then the 90s nostalgia of this faithful series reboot is for you. Jables also starts Netflix's Catching Killers, plus we slog through Like a Boss and surprise ourselves with how much we like Gods of Snooker on the BBC iPlayer.

Jables takes one for the team this week for a story of fashion, intrigue and plenty of car moments for Producer Ben. Plus Our Kid and Producer Ben are keeping it relatively real with Vice and Lance whilst Jables reminisces on The Last Starfighter and Flight of the Navigator. 

Our Ghostbusters special celebrates everything about the beloved franchise and coins the term 'everyday funny' - you heard it here first! Plus Jables gets into Cowboy Bebop while Our Kid finally catches up on series 13 of Doctor Who and is 'so over' the Weeping Angels.

Netflix's big budget adventure coasts along well enough, but lacks an emotional heart and genuine chemistry. Jables has been spending more time on Netflix watching The Harder They Fall, Fresh Meat and a retrospective of V for Vendetta. We also share our thoughts on Disney+ Day and how we got on watching Shang-Chi with The Folks, as well as previews of Moon Knight, Obi Wan and She-Hulk.

We really wanted to like the latest Marvel instalment, but there's no escaping the fact that it's messy and a bit flat - stay tuned for the spoiler segment. Plus we can't quite get away from the spooky fun of Halloween with The Night House, The Manor, Willy's Wonderland and a rewatch of Blade.

We're talking all things horror this week in an episode celebrating Our Kid's favourite genre. Everything we love is here topped off with the viewing of a beloved classic - plus, find out which film made a young Jables sleep with a water pistol under his pillow. 

Superfan Producer Ben finally gets to see what Denis Villeneuve has done with his beloved Dune, and it's good news!

The new Venom instalment leads to more disappointment this week - Jables and Producer Ben are disappointed by the film itself and Our Kid is disappointed by the pair of them for not embracing all the lowbrow fun.

With cinema screens still tied up with all things Bond, we've hit streaming this week for Free Guy - though it turns out Jables would probably have preferred the Muppets Haunted Mansion. Plus we've been doing some comfort rewatching this week with Fools Gold, Casino Royale, Jumper and Dollface).

The trailer has been coming up since the start of the podcast, so finally we're talking all things Bond and it's spoiler free. Plus Britney v Spears, Squid Game and Infinite.

More schlock horror than expected, Malignant sees the return of our added spoiler segment, because some things can't not be said! Our Kid and Producer Ben also enjoy catching up on Nightbooks (which Jables saw last week) and Jables is unimpressed with Our Kid's recommendation of Good on Paper from episode 12. Plus, who can dislike Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade?

Finally available for UK streaming and limited cinema release, this colourful mess explodes onto the screen only to shower us with disappointment. We're faring better on Netflix with Gemini Man, Kate, Nightbooks and the Schumacher documentary, plus catching up on Only Murders in the Building and trailers for Halloween Kills and Finch.

Alexis Louder deserves top billing as the rookie cop dealing with two wacky hitmen and a con-artist in this Tarantino-style action thriller. On the Jables scale, it's a John Wick 2! Also the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect and Our Kid and Producer Ben making it all the way through The Ghost of Winifred Meeks.

We're back to all things Marvel this week, though this latest mega-installment doesn't feel too Marvel, which might explain its universal appeal within the JSJ team. Plus, could Producer Ben be warming to the new Dune trailer?
