Subjective Professor

The Subjective Professor Podcast

Pro-freedom discussion which AVOIDS and discourages Coercion and Hypocrisy. This is a more consistent application of postmodernism to reveal subjectivity/perspective. The goal is NOT to determine right or wrong rather to explore better ideas to make nearly everyone satisfied if not happier. The goal restated is de-escalation through innovation. Episodes

Ep 467 Ron Paul Institute 2025 - Trump Putin – Rhetoric vs Reality 18.08.2025

This episode I go over some of what I experienced at the Ron Paul conference in Dulles, Va over the weekend.  Next, I share some thoughts on the Trump Putin meeting in Alaska.

Ep 466 Rom 5 20 – 6 2 Grace of God and Faith – Ignorance vs Knowledge 17.08.2025

Jesus Day again on the channel. Let's talk about Grace, again. What is it and what do we do with it? Blessings and Peace.

Ep 465 Fixing the System - Be independent from State 15.08.2025

So, if the system, the state, is corrupt beyond redemption, what can we do? How can we fix the system? That's the discussion for today's thought experiment.

Ep 464 Exploitation - Tax Payers Exploited by the State 14.08.2025

University students love to talk about exploitation; it emboldens them. But what exactly is Exploitation? With that better understanding, does the world look any different? Do we begin to see our own exploitation?

Ep 463 AOL Shutting Down - Supply and Demand 13.08.2025

If you are around my age then you are very familiar with AOL. You might be as surprised as I was when I heard that it was shutting down! I didn't even know it was still in use! This is a good time to talk about Supply and Demand.

Ep 462 NFL Eagles Culture part deux - Unrepentant Political Radicals 12.08.2025

I want to discuss another aspect of Eagles football "culture" as a way to get deeper into the phenomenon of the unrepentant STUBBORN, self-righteous political radical; they exist on the "right" and "left".  Why does it happen and what is the way to get out will be the focus of this episode.

Ep 461 Make Match Making Great Again – Thoughts on "Dating" 11.08.2025

I met one of my college roommates today for a couple of hours and for the first time in 38 years.  We talked about several topics one of which was how we met our wives. So, I thought I would do an episode where I'm kind of "thinking out loud" on the topic of marriage, dating, and family.

Ep 460 Ecc 1 1-11 Seeking Meaning – Subjective Empowerment vs Collective Despair 10.08.2025

Sunday which means it's Jesus Day on the channel.  Well, once upon a time the wisest man in the world said that EVERYTHING is meaningless. How do we find meaning in a world where nothing has meaning?

Ep 459 Convo with an Econ Prof - Price and Asymmetric Knowledge 08.08.2025

Years ago, I had a conversation with an economics professor. It was brief and about "asymmetric knowledge." I think he thought that he had more knowledge that me. See what I did there? So, what do we do when some people have more knowledge than others?

Ep 458 Drafting 14 year olds - Woke per SPLC Defined 07.08.2025

A former student posted a meme of Woke as defined by the Southern Poverty Law Center. I examine that definition and compare it to drafting 14 year old boys in Ukraine.

Ep 457 Somaliland vs Redistricting in the US – Make Secession Great Again 06.08.2025

Redrawing the lines of voting districts in Texas is in the news. I thought it would be interesting to contrast that with another story I saw the other day, Somaliland. What is going on, subjectively speaking and what is the lesson we can take away from it.

Ep 456 Braveheart's Freedom – The Smallest Minority - Where's the Diplomacy 05.08.2025

Tying pop culture to contemporary issues again. Braveheart is one of my favorite movies and serves as the jumping off point for the discussion on Freedom and the Smallest minority of society: The Individual.

Ep 455 Phila Eagles Cut Rookie - Hate in the Game of Thrones 04.08.2025

You don't have to enjoy watching American Football to hear this episode. The reason for kicking off a talented recruit from the team is interesting and related to the hate I want to discuss from the Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 5. As always, I try to tie it all back to our lives in the present.

Ep 454 Rom 15 1-4 Hope of Pleasing Ones Neighbor – Fellowship not Intimidation 03.08.2025

Sunday is Jesus... some Libertarianish Christian Preaching. Today we talk about how to please our neighbor without intimidation and violence. Blessings.

Ep 453 Sydney Sweeny - Asset Bubble Business - Truth vs Opinion 01.08.2025

Tying a bunch of seemingly unrelated topics together to give a better sense of where the Subjective Professor is coming from. Is it better to know the truth or to be ever growing in understanding of the events   in our lives? hmm

Ep 452 Isolationism of Trump – Why Great "Men" are Great supposedly 31.07.2025

Revisiting the subject of "isolationism" in our current national situation. Few really understand the concept and that our national policy is more isolationist than I will ever be. It is currently being masked by the "Great Man" concept.

Ep 451 Austin Metcalf – Aziz Ansari Pizza 30.07.2025

Austin Metcalf lost his life at a track meet; people want to make it an issue of race. Maybe it is, but I would use a different racialization. What is interesting is the side that people take and why. This brings me to the Pizza incident as discussed by Ansari six years ago.

Ep 450 Strikes - Hidden Figures and Price of Racism 29.07.2025

Another race-oriented topic today but presented as unions and mathematicians.  Any decision we make has a price tag or a cost. Who pays is important to consider. It is often an aspect which is ignored sometimes deliberately.

Ep 449 Epstein makes Anarchy appealing – Thorium – USAID 28.07.2025

People who believe in government often get upset when I say that it should be cut drastically. Epstein makes my case easier to make. Meanwhile, the rest of the world gets to enjoy Thorium reactors. sigh. At least USAID is no more as an official entity.

Ep 448 Ps 019 7-14 Discerning one's Errors – Awareness vs Insanity 27.07.2025

Sunday again which makes it Jesus-day on the channel.  Taking a look at Psalms, discussing a topic that has been on my mind for a while, why is it so hard for people to admit they were wrong?!? Peace.

Ep 447 Walter Williams – Arbitrary Racism is Costly But Not Immoral 25.07.2025

This episode inspired by Wanjiru Njoya of the Mises Institute. Turns out that she discussed Walter William's book "Race and Economics" which I also used for my book on race. So, I thought I would share what I took away from a chapter from that book. I would like to add that I was able to exchange emails with him before he passed away. He was such a great guy. But racism, without gov't interference...

Ep 446 Arguing with Emotion vs Reason - Redeeming Postmodernism 24.07.2025

There was a paper assignment I offered to students to finish their semesters; it was a "persuasion" paper with a deconstruction twist. This episode explains postmodernist deconstruction and how it is supposed to be used. In other words, doing deconstruction properly reduces emotion and encourages people to use their reason to find better solutions.

Ep 445 San Marino – Ragusa – Andorra – Free Societies vs Now 23.07.2025

A topic I probably have discussed as a sub-point in other episodes deserves its own episode: Free Societies in the world. How did they maintain freedom without being a military powerhouse? Perhaps the people today can learn something from them.

Ep 444 R@p3 Culture in Dog Parks - The Woke Right - The New "Normal" 22.07.2025

An edgy title to discuss a controversial topic. I listened to an interview John Stossel did with James Lindsay who, with a couple other scholars, attempted to publish 20 academic papers which were fake; the title of this episode is the title of one they got published. They did it to expose problems of Woke Left academic publications. But there's more! That was from 2017-18, now Lindsay is discussi...

Ep 443 Colbert and Crypto - Echo Chambers Possibly 21.07.2025

Stephen Colbert and Crypto... what do they have to do with each other?! Perhaps they are two kinds of echo chambers. Another type of echo chamber is a BOX. Don't get caught in a box.
