As we celebrate Easter we see the extreme sadness that went with Jesus’ brutal crucifixion followed by the excitement of his resurrection on Easter morning. Let's look at how God desires to bring joy out of sadness and purpose out of pain.

Even in a challenging season that is the Coronavirus Pandemic, many of us are blessed with more than generations before us, which is great! As people we often get hung up on our “rights.” It’s my right to dress how I want to dress, say what I want to say, believe what I want to believe, or do what I want to do. Is it really that simple? That’s what we are talking about this week.

Most of us are extremely blessed. We have clean drinking water and food to eat. Many of us have cars. Sure they may not be as nice as we want and they may not be our dream cars, but they get us from point a to point b (most of the time). When you hear the words “Conservative” or “Conservation” what do you think of? Do you think of Republican versus Democrat? Do you think of going green, electric cars, global warming or saving the planet? The unfortunate reality is these words can become divisive and often polarizing. Is this God’s desire for his people? Does he want us to be divided and antagonistic towards each other?

Throughout this series titled, “BATTLESHIP: because good relationships are worth fighting for” we have talked about different types of friendships and about our relationship with God. This week we will be looking at Marriage. Not married or looking to get married? That’s ok. There will be something for you as well.

Not all friendships are created equal. This weekend we are talking about the most important friendship a person can have and how it should change your life.

Many of us lead busy lives. We keep busy work, friends, school, volunteering, family, and so many other things that are fighting for our time. This busyness can put a strain on relationships. After all, there is only so much time. This week we will look at how to build healthy relationships with so many people and things fighting for our time and energy.

Who are the people you have in your life? Are they the right people? This is a big question requiring some serious discernment. Join us this weekend as we try to figure this out with help from Jesus in Matthew 7.

Our relationships have a significant impact on our lives. They have been part of shaping us into who we are today and who we will become in the future. Relationships can be hard. Friendships can be hard and sometimes people get hurt. When we understand we everyone isn’t a true friend and can better recognize healthy relationships, it gets easier. so what does true friendship look like? The reality is we don’t all see everything the same way. We have different opinions and understandings. Is that ok? If we are all Christians, should we think the same way? Life has many challenges and can get overwhelming at times. Jesus knew the challenges of life. He lived them himself and he was able to accomplish his purpose. Like Jesus, you have a purpose. That’s right. You were created on purpose and for a purpose! Because of God, we have the ability to not simply get through life, but to accomplish God’s purpose, his incredible purpose, for us.

Division is extremely powerful. It has the ability to destroy relationships and limit success. It can destroy marriages and nations. This week we are going to look at some of the causes and affects of division in an effort to address it and move forward together, not as clones of each other, but UNITED.

This world is not spinning out of control. nothing is happening that is hidden from the sight and full knowledge of our righteous and holy God. and Jesus Christ is coming back soon!

The Bible is talked about a lot in the Bible. Whether or not it is the most talked about topic or one of the most talked about topics in the Bible is debated, but money and wealth are referenced a lot. This week we’ll see how James addresses wealth and how it reflects on who we are as people.

People can be so judgmental. We criticize each other for whether we use a mask or not, what type of vehicle we drive, what phone we use, how big the mistakes we make are, and so many other things. This week we will see what James has to share about how we criticize each other?

As a general rule, we are a really blessed people with more options than ever before. Netflix alone has 5000 shows to choose from! Sometimes the large number of choices make it difficult to commit or decide. This week we are going to see what James said about making a decision, committing, and going all in on the Gospel.
