Ep. 223 - Led Zeppelin Landover 5 - 30 - 77 07.07.2023

We hear some fantastic playing from Led Zeppelin in Landover, MD on 5/30/77 courtesy of Liriodendron's fine remaster, and Led Zeppelin Boots' restoration of lost tape with an audience from the same night, for the first time. This is a Jonesy night although everyone is in top form. We hear Achilles and one of the best top shelf No Quarters with amazing interplay between all. A nice one.

We listen to a stellar Mike Millard master recording of Led Zeppelin at the LA Forum on June 25, 1977. 46 years ago this week the band played an epic 5 nights at the Forum, and in recognition of this feat I play a couple of songs from one of those legendary gigs, one song being a 30 minute brilliant No Quarter. For real. Good stuff.

Ep. 220 - Led Zeppelin Texas Pop Festival 1969 NiteOwl Matrix - Demix 16.06.2023

We hear a new revision of NiteOwl's matrix of Led Zeppelin 8/31/69 at the Texas International Pop Festival. This time he's demixed the bass and drums from the mono aud recording, and split/remixed them to sound more like a professional release, when mixed with the voice/guitar heavy soundboard recording. Another amazing piece. Sounds great!

We hear Jimmy Page on a smoking night in Portland, ME 11/11/88 on his Outrider tour. Emerald Eyes, Midnight Moonlight, and The Chase/Dazed are played, and they're incredible. This is 1972-73 Jimmy making an appearance. Great show from a great tour.

This is a very fun and joyous performance by Robert Plant with the Honeydrippers, at the Blue Note in Derby, UK. on April 21, 1981. After Zeppelin but before the solo career. We hear Little Sister, Bring It On Home, and Queen of the Hop. A great rockabilly/rock n roll show.

Bonus - John Cale Bottom Line NYC 1984 29.05.2023

We hear a solo John Cale performance at the Bottom Line, NYC from August 8, 1984. It is INTENSE. I play Paris 1919, Buffalo Ballet, and Fear is a Man's Best Friend (which is nucking futs at the end). Good stuff.

January 15, 1973 Stoke UK. A great soundboard recording remastered and remixed by NakedEye25 to sound even better. We hear Dancing Days, Over The Hills, and Dazed. A great show from a unique tour of small venues in the UK. It's neat hearing the biggest band in the world playing 800 seat halls again.

Bonus - Yes LA 1980 Drama Tour Millard Master 20.05.2023

We hear a great Mike Millard master recording of YES in LA on Oct 3, 1980 in support of their transition album, Drama. Trevor Horn sings beautifully and the whole band is on fire. We hear Machine Messiah, Tempus Fugit, and And You And I. Amazing performance and recording.

We hear 4 songs from Led Zeppelin in Hiroshima on Sept. 27, 1971 on their first Japanese Tour. Great stuff on this tour and this show. I play Heartbreaker, Since I've Been Loving You, a 20 minute Whole Lotta Love w/ myriad medleys, and Communication Breakdown. Awesome and joyous.

Bonus - ARMS Concert San Francisco 1983 (Clapton, Beck, Page) 14.05.2023

We hear songs from every featured artist on the ARMS tour, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, and Ronnie Lane. From Dec. 1, 1983 at the Cow Palace, SF, we have one of the biggest lineups ever for a benefit for Ronnie Lane. Great music by great artists for a sick friend, and the return of Jimmy Page to public life.

Ep. 215 - Led Zeppelin 4 - 25 - 69 Winterland 12.05.2023

The 1st of 3 nights at the Winterland in San Fran, Led Zeppelin are absolutely incendiary. This is April 25, 1969 and we're nearing the end of telecaster Jimmy. We hear songs from Led Zeppelin's June 17, 1980 tour opener in Dortmund Germany. The band were stripped down and ready to rock. We hear Nobody's Fault But Mine, Trampled Underfoot, and a rollicking Whole Lotta Love/Heartbreaker combo.

We listen to an amazing Two of Us recording of Lou Reed on his first night of a run at Radio City Music Hall, on May 26, 1992, in support of his brilliant Magic and Loss album. Lou is jovial and playful (for real) and sings with passion and heart. It's brilliant. I play a bunch from throughout his career. This is one awesome.

This a great recording of a fun show. Led Zeppelin Uniondale, NY on 2/14/75. This is Grame's Remaster with patching done by ZepHead315 with a 1st Gen AUD source. I play Sick Again, a bomb No Quarter, and Trampled Underfoot. This recording is GOOD. You can hear Jonesy's bass so well, and the tone on Bonzo's drums, and everything. You'll love it.

This is a great one. Robert Plant November 3, 1993 Chicago on the Fate of Nations Tour. We hear an excellent recording of Robert in tip top form, with a great band. In the Mood (medley), Heaven Knows, and an incredible blues jam with James Cotton on harp. So so so good.

We hear Coverdale/Page supporting their self titled album in Osaka on December 21, 1993. I play Shake My Tree, Slide it In, Take a Look At Yourself, & Take Me For A Little While (w/ sweet Jimmy solo). A baffling project but a great performance.
