The Healing Club

This was a confrontational episode with a lot of conflict and bad jokes at my expense. I don't think you should listen to this episode because it is a bad episode with a bad message. This was a chatty, scatterbrained and somehow serious conversation about ambition, faith, motherhood, drug addiction, mental illness and family memories. Also there's a lot of explicit sexual content that I'm confident was funny? Even if it's not funny, the point of the conversation was self-acceptance: accepting yourself even when others don't accept your idea of yourself. And that's good!

This one is heavily edited and hard to follow in the last segment, but hopefully it'll be the last time I ever delve into that deep sadness and panic which characterized THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE. Episode number 50!  Fiftieth episode!  What a milestone!  Two of the best comics in Houston via Memphis describe their experiences of getting evicted, feeling trapped in abusive relationships, dropping out of high school and more!  It was a great time!  I talked over everyone!  I apologize!  

Brian and Bob talk about their earliest jokes and their first experiences on stage. That conversation leads into near death experiences and then their respective first times getting caught stealing. There is no tension and there are absolutely no uncomfortable moments.  This is a funny one.

Greg Deal returns to talk one on one for the first time about living with me for ten years and why it didn't work out.  We both suffer a crisis of confidence and a despair over what went wrong in comedy and our lives together, but it's very low-key emotional and mostly a hoot.  This episode is a fun, funny, feel-good hoot.  

Easy, breezy, fun and sneezy.  This episode is packed with laughs and hugely important, very entertaining, the best podcast.  Incredible.  Like nothing you've ever seen.  Unbelievable.  So great.  Honestly?  I've never seen anything like it.  See for yourself, only listen.  Listen to it.  

Anonymous psychologist Stephanie (Fack Name)(Not Real) Dee Dee (Ramone) once again gets in the middle of some old, painful, personal, inconsequential relationship garbage between Bob and some jerk who's gone forever and living his own dumb life out in far away land Austin.  It doesn't matter.  If you're not interested, don't listen.   

This podcast is delightfully ESOTERIC and INTELLECTUAL in some ways.  Sean and Bob (me) have known each other for years, but now they know each other a little better.  This is a philosophical, sweet natured, fearless quest for self-discovery and inner peace led by two FREAKIN' WEIRD GUYS.  Maybe you'll like this if you're into that sort of thing.

This podcast is a bit of a departure because it's about BOB'S FEELINGS.  JK.  That's what all of these podcasts are about.  Bob and Megan talk about the clothes they stole and kept from ex boyfriends, and then they talk about the book MATING IN CAPTIVITY, by Esther Perel.  It's a fun hang with a lot of genuine moments of true joy.  

This episode is strictly for the comedy.  No emotional baggage!  it's Tommy Drake describing his incredible career as a comedian!  He's literally travelled the world, made a fortune, and entertained millions!  For lovers of Houston comedy and people interested in knowing what it's like to be successful, this is the best episode so far!  

Great intro.  Fun times.  Wonderful podcast.  Victor Tran and I talked about our comedy upbringings, our deepest longings, our greatest fears, and our savoriest moments of hilarity and such and such in this DEEPLY INTERESTING CONVERSATION.  It was a blast and this is fun.  HOUSTON COMEDY!  REPRESENT! GOOD ON THAT! FUN TIMES!

Joe and Bob have a really good time unpacking Bob's trauma and understanding Bob's pitiful romantic obsession with a tepid encounter from his distant past.  It's really funny!  Joe Follodori is an actor, musician, comedian and sensitive type.  He calls out Bob and others for their problematic and insensitive behavior in the Houston comedy scene.  It's great! 

This was an easy episode to record, a thrill to experience, and a fun time we (Bob Morrissey and Will Loden) enjoyed.  I try to get Will Loden to turn gay but he doesn't want to, so we just talk about serious things in an offhand way.  It's super casual.  Totally chill.  Take it or leave it.  Enjoy the humor.  

This is a mostly funny, somewhat haunting conversation about wresting, dreams, comedy, status, oblivion, hope.  Bob and Russell are old friends with an easy way of listening to and being comfortable around each other.  It's a delightful time.  

On the day after the end of the Trump years Justin and Bob (me) improvise and disguise real life observations and stories.  This is a relaxing experience and a deadpan pan in the face experience at times.  I don't know what else to say.  I think it's funny.  I had fun.  

Tod Bailey is a visionary painter who makes vivid, fluid, expressionist images full of light and emotion.  We talk about his installation at Bill Arning Exhibitions and the origins of creativity, injustice, unhappiness, and more!  We also describe our backgrounds and our favorite movies.  This was recorded on the day Joe Biden finally became president.  

Cute, funny, cheerful and surreal conversations with Albert DeLeon.  He's an expectant father, a character actor, an accomplished comedian and an internet sensation.  I read some stuff from a 2017 joke diary between the two segments.  We'd met up to podcast and then film a scene together for Angel Trevino's movie.  This was a day to remember.  

This one follows up the worst episode ever with a much more mellow reflection on art, creativity, family business and life a long time ago in greater suburban Chicago's Park Ridge and St. Charles areas.  Laura Lark is a teacher and an artist, a comedian and a friend.  Her work is in museums!  We have work on different walls of Bill Arning Exhibitions' "Animal Nitrate" show from now...
