We’re in a summer series called, “Long Story Short: The Bible in 12 Statements.” The Bible’s long story is a biography of Jesus. But in this passage from Hebrews 13, we also get something of a biography of sin, how sin corrupts money, sex, and power, in particular.

Today we begin a new preaching series called, “Long Story Short: The Bible in 12 Statements.” The Bible’s long story is a biography of Jesus. The goal of this study is to see him in repeated storylines of Creation (how everything comes to be), Fall (how it goes wrong), Redemption (how it’s made right), and Consummation (how it will end).

This is our second Sunday in the list of names at the end of Colossians 4. We’re thinking about how serving spiritually forms us, and today Pastor Cole will give us three angles: that in serving we pour ourselves out, invite others in, and pursue “freedom to” instead of “freedom from.”

We’re spending two weeks in Colossians 4:7–18 thinking about how serving spiritually forms us. Paul lists names of people who served the church and him, and from them we get fresh angles on what serving is and the commitment it requires.

This morning we return to Colossians. In Colossians 4:2–6, Paul asks for prayer for his ministry while simultaneously teaching us what to pray for. He also commends our walking in wisdom toward outsiders. In today’s message, “Gospel Conversation,” Pastor Cole will guide us in two main verbal applications of the gospel believed.

Today, with all Christians everywhere, we proclaim the great Easter message: “He is Risen!” Pastor Cole takes us to Romans 3:21–26 this morning to show us why and how that gospel proclamation works.

We worship a crucified man. This has implications for we understand tragedy and suffering. Today, Palm Sunday, Pastor Cole will preach Christ crucified.
