The Great Doc Marten Breaking in Project 22.06.2026 15:21
Life going on and my quest to finally break in these red Doc Martens I've had for ages (certainly pre-pandemic). Pic of the boots and my cat marking them. They're both such sweet cats.
Isn't it Great When Good Triumphs Over Evil? 21.06.2026 18:10
Still being doing a lot lately and found out a menace was taken out of the legal profession. Never though I'd see that day come. Pic of the book I mention that I contributed a chapter to (which also touches a bit on this general topic). Go check out the US link here .
Picky Eaters and Dietary Choice 08.06.2026 19:36
Food cops are more obnoxious than the picky eaters they wail about. Agree or disagree? Pic of roasted cauliflower I made. Not sure why I can't find frozen cauliflower like that these days but it is tasty.
There's a Legal Community?! Where?? 07.06.2026 19:18
Some thoughts on what I've been up to and why I think the concept of a legal community is an oxymoron. Pic is of a pig dressed as a judge near the courthouse in downtown Lexington, NC. I've been told I should be a judge.
Mother's Day and Going No Contact 10.05.2026 16:47
Mic problems have derailed the show but trying to put something out and get to the bottom of that. It's Mother's Day and I read an article that warrants comment. Random stock pic to illustrate estranged mom/kid.
The Relevance of Opera and Ballet 15.03.2026 17:32
The recent outcry on these fields and whether people indeed "care about" them or not. I say they both need a "Hamilton" to make their mediums more accessible to the masses. Picture of ballet shoes I found online at random.
Business Appropriate Swimwear is an Oxymoron 23.02.2026 18:04
Yeah, that doesn't exist unless some Muslim swimwear designer comes up with that. This is what a swimsuit for Muslim women (called a "burkini") looks like.
Things You'd Better Tell a Romantic Partner if You Don't Want to Suffer 16.02.2026 19:46
Some remarks on the NYC dating scene and why we need the fear of God to be put back in some people. Random fitting image I found online (you shouldn't be proud of being one, by the way).
What's Your Most Controversial Take vs. Job Interview 10.02.2026 19:56
How did we go from "treat a date like a job interview" to "ask dates what their most controversial take is?" Saw this at a hotel I stayed at in NYC once. Maybe we should create a survival guide and give them to people once they are legal adults.
Middle School Problems Call for Middle School Solutions 26.01.2026 19:59
I've got an idea for increasing civility in the legal profession, helping people get access to good legal counsel and setting grievances all in one. Seeing this pic I took, I'm thinking maybe Maury Povich could referee these conflicts considering he did all the paternity test episodes and Jerry Springer is no longer with us.
The End of Model Flake 19.01.2026 20:22
An emotional bombshell long after I took the trash out. This poster was on my ceiling back in the day as a teen, the elusive "perfect guy" you never seem to find. I wonder if the Model Flake ever graced anyone's ceiling.
Accountability and Whining Over Facing Consequences 16.12.2025 18:46
The movie is "Predators" not "Predator" as I misspoke. A discussion on that documentary along with the general trend of whining over consequences caused by one's own actions. This image just sums up society nicely. Saw it at a random NYC street fair.
Should Employees Be Fired for Cheating Off the Clock? 01.12.2025 13:10
Thoughts on the Ashley Madison documentary, a CEO who says she did this and cheating generally Saw this in the subway one day. If you know the symbolism, you know.
Tech Frustration and Trad Sons 27.10.2025 15:11
Hating tech when my printer refuses to continue working consistently and why are we rebranding Mama's Boys as "trad sons" like that's an aspiration?? General stock photo expressing my feeling at the moment with the printer crisis.
Lived Experience & Nykia Hamilton Deserves Her Own Franchise 13.10.2025 19:48
The story of a single mom who deserves a fast food franchise and why lived experience beats school training any day of the week. Pic of the lady I'm discussing, who deserves her shot at franchise ownership.
Kim Davis & Jimmy Kimmel - Same Difference to Me 21.09.2025 17:18
Some parallels between Kim Davis and Jimmy Kimmel who both decided to bring their personal beliefs into the workplace. Remember her? You will. Pic of Kim Davis for those who forgot or don't remember who she is.
Killing Over Words 15.09.2025 20:17
Some words on the recent murder of Charlie Kirk and why you don't belong here if you think that's cool. This pic has a major significance for me. I'd just ended things with Mr. Orgy and things were tense. This was the morning he was taking me to the airport. It'd been raining earlier and the sun was coming out. I wanted to capture this since I felt God was telling me things might b...
Go to Hotlanta, Stan Cox!!! 23.06.2025 20:10
Air conditioning is critical in summer, especially if you are a natural redhead or live in the US on the East Coast. Don't mess with a Southerner's A/C unless you've got a death wish. Pic is a Windmill air conditioner, one of the best you can get since you can control it through an app; it's not cheap but it's well worth it.
Age Gap Relationships and Other Logical Fallacies 08.06.2025 20:54
There's been a lot of attempt to move the goalposts on sexual consent, especially with respect to women who are 18-24. Yet minors are competent to choose puberty blockers and the same age group can vote, drive cars and join the military? Stock pic of a heart with hands. Also a guest appearance from my cat.
Drinking & Alcoholism 26.05.2025 18:31
A topic I haven't dealt with but actually is relevant to my life story. This stock pic is my take on drinking, having had an alcoholic father who wasn't a fun, silly, happy drunk.
The 2000s or What I Call the "Ho Chic" Era 05.05.2025 18:56
Thinking about how to describe culture then, "ho chic" came to mind for me. The pic is of me in the 2000s. I was definitely NOT ho chic but also wasn't a prude since I continue to rebel heavily from that.
Your Authentic Self or a Viable Career Path--Must You Be Forced To Choose? 28.04.2025 16:33
In the age of authenticity, why am I still being told to be ashamed of who I am and beg for the approval of others like a dog? I feel like this has been my penultimate limiting belief that's affected my money flow. The pic is of a waterfall in a park I passed by in downtown Oklahoma City when I went to a business convention last year that isn't directly related to what I actually do. The t...
Officially Unemployed -- Maybe That's a Good Thing 21.04.2025 18:43
It's official; I'm unemployed. Now comes the hunt for doing what I want to do on a permanent basis where I can pay bills and not feel disrespected, underutilized or unappreciated. This pic is from a trip to the Museum of American Finance back when you could visit in person. I just learned it's all virtual now.
Smart Kids Should Never Be Denied an Education 30.03.2025 19:26
Some words on the student loan debate and why you don't leave smart kids out in the cold. This is a pic from the top of the bell tower at my college, where I got to hit the bell to commemorate 20 years since I graduated from there.
Want People to Do Something? Stop Creating Obstacles & Making it Difficult 09.03.2025 18:36
A gripe I've had forever that just popped up. Basically, learn some Psych 101 if you want to get people to do the "right" thing when it's not fun or something people want to do. This pic is a prime example of what happens when you make things inconvenient like not having enough cart return spots or not keeping them clear of shopping carts.
