The Frankencast

2024 has given us so many interesting new takes on the Frankenstein story, and this is another great example, only instead of making a monster out of corpse parts, an unsuspecting dad just buys a really hot robot and things go awry. Join us as we learn we're both members of the Megan Fox Stan Society, try to decide if robots count as cheating, and wonder if polyamory would have fixed this whole "m...

Happy Halloween, fiends! We're kinda breaking the format again this week. In honor of the recent release of V/H/S/Beyond, we're discussing several Frankensteinian segments from a number of films in the V/H/S franchise. Specifically, we're looking at "Phase I Clinical Trials" from V/H/S/2, "The Subject" from V/H/S/94, "TKNOGD" from "V/H/S/85, and "Dream Girl" and "Fur Babies" from V/H/S/Beyond. Joi...

Has a movie ever more fully lived up to the promise of its title? This one's bad, fiends. Like, really bad. Join us as we go into outer space, eat at the jack-o-lantern infested space fast food restaurant, and then nearly cause the end of the universe for some vague reason that seems to have to do with a spooky black hole? We're sorry. Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subs...

Do you want to play a game?? How about 85 of them? Join us this week as we step out of the movie screen, and then step right back into the video game screen. We're welcoming Special Guest Vic Romero, who has played every Frankenstein game he could get his hands on, so he can tell us all about them. Join us for all the 8-bit, 2D action! You can find Vic's YouTube channel, NoiseLand Co here: https:/...

This week, we're getting a little classy. We're putting on our finest attire and going to the ballet! Join us as we instantly talk about the Monster's genitals, praise ourselves for understanding the dialogue-less plot, and then right away get confused about if and when a wedding occurs. We're very sophisticated. Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss...

This week we're headed to the ominously modern estate of our tech bro boss and surely nothing bad could happen there, right? Join us as we reuse cliched quotations, try to understand AI, and lose all concept of what counts as "naked". Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss future installments. Join us on Patreon at  ...

Things are getting chaotic over here at the Frankencast Labs! Join us as we watch two low-budget movies and have very different feelings about the two. First up, it's Amityville Frankentein, one more film in the increasingly broken series of completely unrelated "Amityville" films. This one is certainly not in anyway related to the Amityville Horror, nor is it really all that much of...

It's been awhile since we've shared what we've been getting up to over on Patreon here on the main feed, so we thought we'd share a full episode with y'all this week. And this week, Eric surprised Anthony with so much Warhammer lore to celebrate the new release of Space Marine 2! Join us as we discuss this nearly 40 year-old tabletop miniature war game, complete with the dozens...

IT'S SHOWTIME! As soon as we saw something even slightly Frankensteiny in the new Beetlejuice, we knew we couldn't resist the chance to talk about it here. So join us for our discussion that starts generally and then gets very spoilery. We'll warn you before we do though. Get ready for a surprising number of animal attacks, SO many weddings, and an inevitable puppeteered dance number....

This week, the Frankenstein Monster does his most monstrous deed yet: he invites us to attend his one-man show. (One-monster show?) But it's good actually? We've certainly never seen anything like this before as the Creature monologues at us for a full 90 minutes, and it's pretty compelling. Join us in the abandoned church for some Very Serious Theatre! Please rate, review, and tell yo...

Alright, fiends, we've had just about enough of your teen trope behavior. We'll see you in DETENTION. (Which of course will be held at the local spooky wax museum, as is tradition.) Join us as we get freaky in a coffin, and on top of a wax dummy, and near the mutilated zombie of Hitler. Oh, to be young again. Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don&#3...

Uh-oh, fiends, we've got to raise exactly $1,238,463.38 before the weekend is over, or else the town is in trouble! We better call on our favorite group of child-like weirdo monsters to help. Good thing we've kept them sealed away in a nearby cave all these years! Has anyone seen our Wolfie? Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss future in...

This week, we're discussing another new release, but one you may not have heard of. We've got a decent example of a direct-to-streaming legacy sequel, this is decent but not great, and that seems to have mostly been overlooked. But it's definitely worth your time. Join us as we recover Victor Frankenstein's lost journal and then end up just having to deal with a bunch of rude jerks...

This week, your favorite Horror Hosts are traveling to outer space with the MCU's wackiest bunch of galactic misfits. Sure, there are other movies in the series, but are they Frankenstein stories? Not so much. This one, which tells the story of Rocket Raccoon, however, is a different story. Join us for this heartbreaking, sad and sweet film, where we discuss good dogs, divorce, and our old fri...

It's episode 150, so it's time we finally talked about the movie called Frankenstein! No, not that one. No, not that one either... Okay, so there are a lot of movies called Frankenstein, but this week, we're talking about the lesser-known BBC TV movie set in modern (2007-modern) times. Join us as we look at this still quite relevant, melancholy reinterpretation complete with gender-swa...

Prepare yourself... for the Power the Power the Power! We're headed for an island vacation with friend of the show, Tim Kirk. Join us as we meet a team of balloonists (The Doctor, The Preacher, Disco Shirt Guy, and the Other Guy), a whole tribe of Alien Bikini Cave Girls, and an Poe-quoting captive human blood-bag. We bought all of our supplies and Spirit Halloween and we are ready for an isla...

This week we're putting our Longlegs on to discuss possibly the most zeitgeisty horror film of the year so far. Join us as we start with a spoiler-lite chat, and then really get into all of the details. And, most importantly for us, we talk about the Frankenstein connection. Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss future installments. Join us o...

We're back with more Death Race! And when I say more Death Race, I mean we basically watched the same movie two weeks in a row. Join us here in the future Appalachian Desert for this ostensible sequel to Paul Bartel's Death Race 2000, which is really basically a remake with the addition of clever place names. We do get to talk about some pretty interesting stuff regarding gender and race t...

Welcome to the far dystopian future, all the way in the Year 2000! Join us for the horror comedy car race movie you've all been waiting for. We'll obviously be cheering for American Hero Frankenstein! (But also for the Resistance. This is a pro-Resistance Frankenstein podcast, if you didn't know.) Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss...

Well, fiends, we may have gotten a little lost last week, but we've finally made it to the beach. Just be on the lookout, because we heard some mad scientists down the road have misplaced their mutant sea monster. Join us as we get very analytical about "gentlemen's magazines", meet the ACTUAL Ghost of Frankenstein and question his makeup choices, and compare the artistically sup...

Well, we got fooled this time, fiends. Not since Frankenstein's Bloody Terror have we come across a more deceptively titled film. Join us for this late period softcore comedy from one of Full Moon Features' classic era directors. But don't bother bringing your beach attire. Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss future installments. Jo...

We thought we'd start sharing the first few minutes of our Patreon episodes here on the main feed to give everyone a taste of what you can expect if you join us at  patreon.com/thefrankencast . Well, we've made it through the first seasons of both versions of The Munsters at this point. Join as Herman deals with corrupt politici...

Just when you thought it was safe to go into your podcast platform of choice, it's... Sharkenstein! Join us we follow the exploits of a puppet shark, a clipart submarine, and the most horrifying non-Euclidean MS Paint shack you will ever see. Please rate, review, and tell your fiends. And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss future installments. Join us on Patreon at  ...

Step right up, step right up! Ladies and gentlemen and queerfolk of all kinds, feast your ears on the cursed episode of the Frankencast. We had so many glitches when recording this episode, that it's a miracle we have a full episode to give. So, yeah, I guess you could say we beat the Devil. Join us for some murderous family fun, Great Depression Goths, and a surprise Sleepaway Camp. Please ra...
