The Electro and Banno Movie Power Hour Podcast

According to the Academy of Motion Pictures, they moved this year's Oscars back to April because of the pandemic. We have it on good authority that they heard the Electro and Banno Movie Power Hour was doing their final episode in their Christopher Nolan vs. David Fincher series, and they didn't want to be upstaged. So here is the final answer to the question of who is the better director.

In David Fincher we trust. Be it Facebook, serial killers, or Ben Affleck. So when we heard he directed a film about the making of Citizen Kane we were puzzled. We had no idea it was about a drunk writing genius who was soon to become one of our heroes. Or is he the villan? This is an unlikely story about how we came to idolize a man named Mank.

As we were preparing this episode, HBO Max blew everyone's minds and announced a tremendous deal. As soon as we mentioned this tremendous deal, we had an unexpected visitor who we thought was busy at the moment. Electro and Banno make their triumphant return to theatres with Christopher Nolan's  Tenet.  In one of the craziest years for film, Robert Pattinson was not the hero we deserved but the hero we needed.

The spooktacular finishes up with Wes Craven's classic  The Nightmare on Elm Street.  Electro and Banno had not seen this movie since they were growing up in the 90s. Does it still hold up for them? Also, the full moon must have got to producer Oz because he sees Freddy as the victim in this tragic tale.

The Spooktacular is reaching its third act, so we had to make this one special. Electro and Banno take you back to the horrific 60s portrayed in Alfred Hitchcock's horror classic Psycho.  Make yourself a couple of peanut butter sandwiches and tuck yourself into bed because this is a scary one.

The spooktacular blasts ahead with 1997's Event Horizon.  Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, whose filmography can be best described as "interesting," to say the least. This was his effort to make " The Shining  in space." Did the guys think he achieved that? Listen to find out!

For our first spooktacular episode, we cover Sam Raimi's 1981 classic The Evil Dead. The guys had not seen it in many years, and Oz and Banno didn't even know who Raimi was. Electro, among other things, thinks the trees and the bookshelves get a little too grabby in this horror classic.

The Devil All the Time is the new film by Antonio Campos and features Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson, amongst other great actors. Based on Donald Ray Pollock's novel, which Electro claimed to read back in 2011. In the words of Preston Teagardin, DELUSIONS! Did the film live up to Electro's expectations after reading the book? Have you read the book? Is he right or wrong?

After almost 30 years, Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves return to play the lovable duo Bill and Ted, and we had to get in the studio and record an episode. Uncut Gems is the Safdie brothers follow-up to 2017s acclaimed film Good Time. Does it live up to its expectations? Not according to Banno, who barely watched it even though it's available on Netflix. Oz and Electro thought it was worth it just for Julia Fox. Seriously, just watch it for Julia Fox.
