Promise Abandoning Pressure (Hebrews 11:23–31). Are we willing trade in God’s promises for the fleeting sinful pleasures? Moses’ parents traded in safety for an infant promise. Welcoming Long-Distance Promises (Hebrews 11:13–22). Living by faith depends upon living on what God has done as a beacon of what God is going to do. Faith Is Certainty (Hebrews 11:1–12). Faith is not doubting or skepticism. Faith is confidence in God and His Word. Only by faith can you please God. Do you walk your life trusting God? Hyphenated Holy Name (Genesis 17:1–12a, 15–16). As God calls Abram to walk faithfully with Him, God gives a  promised relationship to Abram. As such they bound to one another so that Abram gains the identity of God. So too as Christ is circumcised, he is bound to us as God’s promise. Commanded Incarnation Rejoicing (Zechariah 2:10-13). God doesn’t ask, but commands us to shout and be glad. To respond to God with singing and rejoicing is believing that God’s promises are true. Faithful Family Vocations (Luke 2:41-52). Jesus is raised in the context of family. God is doing his holy work through Joseph, Mary and Jesus. Triggering Table Waiter (Acts 6:1–7). Stephen the deacon is called up to serve the faith community. His service leads to a deeper witness of his faith. Life Transforming Benedictus (Luke 1:67–80). Zechariah celebrates the overwhelming reality of God coming to us. Heavenly Magnificat Triumph (Luke 1:39-56).  Mary knew the identity of child: he was the Gospel. Mary sing of God’s mercy and triumph even in the midst of a sin-shattered world. Blessed Inconvenient Annunciation (Luke 1:26-38). The blessing and highly favoring of God doesn’t necessarily translate into earthly contentment or success. The angel comforts with the promises of God to send the Messiah. Startled Rejoicing Mute (Luke 1:5-25). Are we startled and fearful when the LORD calls us to his work? Do we question if God can be certain of his call on our lives? Yet, we find even in our deficiency the LORD is working and  can exclaim the Lord has done this for me!

Certain Faith Security (2 Peter 3:11–18). In the midst of a sinful world destroying itself, we are encouraged to live belonging to God. Our standing does not depend upon our works, but God dwelling with us. Stimulating Wholesome Word (2 Peter 3:1–10). Peter points us to the Word given with authority that creates, judges and rescues. Don’t be annoyed by scoffers who are gonna scoff. Waterless Spring Oxymorons (2 Peter 2:17–22). These false teachers are the exact opposite of what they presume to be. Though they promise freedom, they are slaves to sin mastered by their lust to work salvation out of their own sin-bound flesh. Arrogant Bold Blasphemers (2 Peter 2:10b–16). These blaspheming heretics are bold to heap condemnation on others. Speaking false teaching out of their instinctual sin-bound reason, they are caught by sin and bound to destruction. Furtive Exploitive Heretics (2 Peter 2:1–10a). These false teachers sneakily insert destructive heresies mixed with the truth. They fabricate and speculate. Absolutely Spirit Stimulated (2 Peter 1:12–21). We don’t follow myths. Refresh yourself in the eyewitness accounts about Jesus Christ who came in power and honor. He is the bright morning star that shines in our hearts. Scripture is absolutely moved by God, not human intent. Every Promise Needed (2 Peter 1:1–11). You have received every great and precious promise necessary to lead and enjoy a godly life. By glorious goodness Christ has elected and called you to a new life in Him. Darkness Rebels Against (Luke 22:39–53). Christ, on the verge of crucifixion, advises you to pray to fend off temptation. Do we kiss Jesus only to then betray him? Satan Sifting Faith (Luke 22:31–38). Christ says the rulers of unbelievers who are without the covenant exercise power and control. Like Christ we are called as servant leaders. When The Kingdom Comes (Luke 22:14–30). As Jesus is eager for the Passover, are you eager for the Lord’s Supper as a foretaste of Christ’s return?
