My thoughts on changing your job is to 1st connect with recruiters and HR professionals face to face. Then to clean up your LinkedIn profile, and connect with recruiters and HR professionals on LinkedIn. There's no "perfect" spot, position, company or position. You're finding the next best move.

Having a student mentality allows us to stay humble and coachable to look for ways to learn. And also allows us to look at others and recognize that they also might not know everything, and that's OK.

In this episode I talk about seizing the day! Our present is a collection of our wins and losses, successes and failures. That's what brought us to today. Our future is determined by what we do today. Our past is the is not a determining factor of our future life.

Career progression is about grabbing specific skills in order to make yourself more marketable. Also by focusing in on developing your skills it will give you more control of your own development.

Leadership is about influence. Helping to rally around a singular goal or vision. I'm reminded of this by ther volunteers over the weekend who gave off their time for Blessings in A Backpack

How supportive is your tribe? That could be people in your family, friends and acquaintances. Make sure that you associate with people that are like minded & that want to see you win in life

Social media allows us to connect with people in a meaningful way. We have an opportunity to share with others our interests and opinions. Trying to convince everyone to like us or what we're intrested in is a waste of time & effort. It's about building audience and a network of like minded individuals. Remember it's engagement, engagement, engagement

Have a look at your daily habits. Do they add to your overall energy? Do you have good eating habits? Is your food giving you energy? Do you have a good sleeping schedule? Are you avoiding things that can make you addicted? Are you taking all your vacation? Our habits affect our ability to be motivated and energized, and what we're working on. Personal branding (aka reputation) hasn't been easier to control than ever before.

Leaders have to be comfortable not having all the answers in order to leverage the specific skills and talents of those they work with. As a leader you end up facilitating conversations and meetings to get all these ideas out from your team in order to rally around one vision.

Personal development shouldn't stress us out or leave us feeling in adequate. It's completely normal to feel like your not where you wanna be. We have to have a look at our daily decisions to map our future.

There's a difference between being a sort of am an extrovert. You want to BE the past version of you not try to be something or someone you are not.

Two examples: 1 an employee & another a business owner.

What's your influence on your children? Are you teaching them the values and important items of their lives?

Journal your process. document your history. be vulnerable in your flaws, your missed opportunities & your missteps. Transparency and vulnerability makes you relatable

Look for jobs on LinkedIn and Facebook group pages. Make sure your LinkedIn profile showcases your talents. Have it read like a resume. Post up videos and articles showing your talents and skills. Keep your online and offline network strong and stay connected. Add value to others.

Accept your strengths & weaknesses. Move forward despite not being perfect.

Update your LinkedIn profile, search for specific jobs on LinkedIn, connect with recruiters, contact your close connections in your network & be specific with what you're wanting to do.

Even when you enjoy work, it's still work. Find a way to marry your passions with what you do in your profession. Leaders have the ability to translate the vision to others. They understand it's not about products or services, it's about the development of people

We are not sure how long of life we have so might be helpful to journal or blog or document your story as it's unfolding. Remember we are the authors of our own biography.

Connecting with people through social media. Them recognizing me at networking meetings from my videos before we meet, and them being able to find out what I stand for before we have an appointment.

GOALS: Have you written them down? Are there changes you should be making in your life to achieve your goals?
