The Content Experiment Podcast
The Content Experiment Podcast is a podcast for service-driven business owners who know that content is important but there's also so much more to marketing and business growth. Here we talk about showing up for your audience in a way that they want to hear and in a way that's sustainable for you. This might mean publishing a weekly podcast or blog, but it also means paying attention to your email list, leveraging other people's audiences, building relationships, and getting over the limiting mindsets that often hit when we're reaching for the next level in our business.

The opportunity to nurture those new subscribers so they know what you do, who you do it for, what you of...

Few things feel better than shutting down the computer before a much-needed vacation or at the start of a holiday break. As business owners, we deserve some time away so we can maintain some semblance of work/life harmony. Working around the calendar just isn't healthy. But it's also hard to take time away. We're so afraid that something will break or an email will go unanswered (and we'll lose t...

Content marketing is incredibly valuable in educating prospects and showcasing your expertise. It's not always helpful in getting discovered by new people, especially if you're not investing a lot of time and resources into your SEO. Here's the thing: Content marketing isn't just about pushing content, like your blogs, podcasts, and YouTube videos, out into the world. There's more to it than that,...

154. What You Need for Minimum Viable Content Marketing 10.11.2021 18:55
Stop trying to do it all! You do not have to be in "all of the places" to market your business effectively. And too many business owners sit paralyzed because they don't know what to create, where to publish it, or how often. 153. Your To-Do List is Doing You No Favors with Mridu Parikh 03.11.2021 44:54
We have all our own strategies for creating productivity in our lives: Pomodoro method, to-do lists (both digital and analog), time blocking, time tracking, you name it. And I've tried it all, to some success. But rather than writing and rewriting your to-do list from day to day and week to week (you know who you are!), what if you had a true system to follow that ensured you got it all done so yo...
152. How to Promote Your Opt-in for Better ROI 27.10.2021 11:36
One of the best ways to keep in touch with your audience is through email marketing. (Nope, not social media posts.) Emails meet people right where they are--in their inboxes. But first, you need to get them on your email list. If you don't have a quality opt-in (also known as a lead magnet or freebie), go listen to episode 150 first. Then come back here as I share how to promote that opt-in. Beca...
151. Talking About Hard Things and Staying On Brand with Lakesha Cole 20.10.2021 46:10
Visibility goes well beyond publishing some podcast episodes or writing a few blogs. It's about having a compelling message and sharing that message across multiple channels. And in 2020 and 2021, it's also about navigating social justice and racial reckoning. Without it being something you simply check off your to-do list. Let's talk about what that looks like. Because there's no shortage of busi...
150. What Opt-In Do You Need to Grow Your Business? 13.10.2021 9:26
Every business needs an email list. Every. Single. One. Some (those who are trying to sell a lower-priced offer or a group program or a membership) need a larger list than others (those who are selling a higher-ticket offer to just a few 1:1 clients), but everyone truly does need a list. There are a lot of ways to get people on your list; one of those ways is a quality opt-in. But a checklist isn'...

148. Creating Brand Awareness Outside of the Blog 29.09.2021 18:19
Back when I started my business, blogging was the thing to do to build brand awareness. That and posting to social media. And while both are still valuable, neither gets the reach that they used to. That's why we need to think outside box and consider some strategies that can complement your blogging and social media presence. What are those strategies? That's exactly what I'm talking about on th...
