My fellow Christ-followers, let's look at Romans 12 and talk about how we should act in times such as this. I read from the ESV for those who are wondering.

These are trying times for families, especially I believe for those with young families.  In this long podcast, i have my first ever guess, my son Levi.   Levi askes a few questions as we give advice on how to press on through this all. Prayer Heping our neighbors Creating consistency for our children setting proper expectations.

I have loved teaching through this letter of the New Testament.  Trust it has been good for you as well.

The final verses are read today, but we will wrap it up next time with a quick overview of the whole letter.  Here I touch on some of the practical applications we can get from this glorious closing. Prayer really matters. Dependence of God That we need to hear and respond properly to hard truths about ourselves, and that God's grace is enough to help us do just that.

We are a part of the body of Christ.  He is the head, and He has told us how to worship.

Chapter 12 ends with "...let us offer to God acceptable worship"  Then 13 unpacks for us three key elements to our worship. 1. A genuine love of others 1-3 2. Our own holiness 4-6 3. Following only true teachings (Doctrine matters) 7-17

We need to realize our place with Jesus. Even when we are treated wrong because of our faith, we need to be kind, do good, and love our enemy.

Your leaders who speak grace into your life.  Do you speak grace into your disciple's lives?  Your wife's life?

The Lord is my helper; I will not feat; what can man do to me?  well, he could kill you...  How big is your God (god)? By the way, I say NOTHING about Valentines day today:)

Money, it's all I need to be happy... or not. Money is not the problem.  Your love of money is... and or your spending habits.  Spend LESS then you make.  

This is my theme verse, what started it all.  So much to say here, so little time. How we have neglected this key aspect of the Christian life. Its a fight we much fight.

Do you pray for the persecuted church?   Do you think through what it might be like to be separated from your family, from those you trust and love, and to have no control over anything in your life?  When you might eat again, or get to see daylight, or see a family member again?   You should, and you should then pray for our brothers and sisters who are experiencing that right now.  don't th...

These next five verses have 5 very key ingredients to the Christian life, and the first two I talk about today. 1. Brotherly love 2. Hospitality to strangers 3. Praying for and remembering those who are in prison and mistreated (for the faith) 4. Marriage to be held in honor among ALL and the marriage bed undefiled 5. Be content ("keep free from the love of money")

The warning continues

Warning to gain control of our fleshly desires.  What a serious warning we find her in Hebrews... 

God's grace is amazing, and even in the community that is being persecuted by those who use to worship with them, they are told not to grow bitter.  God's grace is enough. What are you doing to make sure your spouse and your children walk fully in the grace of God?

God is so faithful, bringing us healing from our own sin, and giving us peace.

This is a great section that helps us know we are God's and gives us more insight into parenting... the lost art.

The team with the proven mid-game, mid-quarter ability to make adjustments to the game, wins... 

Hebrews 12:4 reminds us that Jesus actually died for our sins... so what are you doing to resist that sin?

This letter is to encourage us that the journey in grace is amazing but not easy.  And that sometimes we are in need of discipline but that it is a good sign... it means we belong to Him.

Nothing can ease the pain that these families are feeling.  It simply takes away your breath, and the emotional pain is so huge and so real.  ANYONE who has lost a love one this weekend, yesterday, today... they all matter.  Today i take us to Psalm 90 to consider just how short our time is here on earth.  Soon, we will be on the other side of this life... maybe way sooner then we were thinking li...

Death comes every day, but for someone as famous as Koby Bryant and as young as he was and with his very young daughter... the world is shaken.  Today I leverage Isaiah 26 to help me press on because God is real.  I think that in those final moments, what mattered most to Koby Bryant, was not his money, fame, trophies or career... it was his family, and possibly his faith in God.  How are you?

Being the husband to our wife that honors God and helps our wife feel cherished, cared for, and admired.  Can we suck it up and be merciful, kind, gentle and loving?

I love these verses.  They encourage me to press on, run the race, look to do what is best, not just good.
