Do you call on the name of the LORD?  Do you call on Jesus?  

Here we see how maybe, just maybe Cain had an identity problem, right off the bat.  His worth was in his job, not that he was made in the image of God.  Glad no one does that today.

Oh the pride of man.  Here we see two examples, oh and they are the first two men born on this planet... and one kills the other... what the heck?  On Sunday men, what do you bring to church?  How do you come to worship?  How is your attitude toward God?  

Can we read and listen to the Word of God too much?  I don't think so.  C.S. Lewis once said of the comment, "He is so heavenly minded that he is of no earthly good", ... but Lewis...  “If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next… It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other...

So did you know?  Christmas is the most loved holiday, followed by Mother's Day, and coming in at 21st place, is Father's Day... so Jesus is first then your mother... Anyway, I wanted to encourage dads to stay the course.  Stay involved. And my new intro... do you like it?  To promote real godliness in man, through grace, humility, hard work, common sense, logic, and love through practic...

Psalms 2 shows us that God has this, so what is the role of a man?   seven simple things to stay focused on... and its enough to keep ut really busy. Life, equality, work, hearing God's Word, speaking God's Word, ministry of reconciliation, and discipleship. Don't get distracted.

Men, work is not the curse... its a blessing in a perfect world.  Now that we have broken it, work is harder, and we fight against our own sin nature, but work is still a blessing.  Let us work as onto the Lord.  Colossians 3:23:)

Can we talk? I read from Ephesian 6 (I had to edit it, and I am not as good as my son Levi at it). Flat Brain Syndrom is from the book by Dr. James Petersen - Why Don't We Listen Better-  A great read for counselors, not a bad idea for men. We are called to pray, and we are called to stand up against injustice.   I ramble on, repeating myself, by I repeat myself;).

Today we have lost our way... the church.  Are we trying to be gods?  Ruling over other men and women?  That is not what we were designed to do. A look at Genesis 1:26-28 Christians, we are not better than others.  We are not to rule over others.  When a people group or gender rules over others, pride and power creep in, and things go downhill.

Looking at Genesis 1 What is Light? the sun?

Men need to step up with common sense.

Chapter 10 is very short:)  So how are we responding to these times?

Lots to still learn from this story.  God is in control.  All power and there are lots who want it, is meaningless, unless you are relying on God.

The story of Esther has taken a big turn.  Can that happen for us in these days of COVID 19?  Where is your hope?

Haman's Hatred leads to his own death Esther's faith, and willingness to listen to his cousin's advice, lead to life.  Her faith was in God, not herself.  

The story deepens and gets even more interesting.  

What does pride look like?  What do patience and humility look like?  In this chapter, see if you can spot both.

Chapter 4 of Esther and the second part of verse 14 are the most quoted from this book.  "And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Well, we are in some kind of times, are we not?  What are you ready to do?  Maybe it is time for us to fast and pray ourselves.  Could you skip a meal and pray instead of eating during that time?  Maybe fast for one day...

Well, our second main character comes on the scene.  What a guy.  Things look bad for the Jews.  Does COVID-19 have you down?  Can God make a difference?

Chapter 2 of Esther takes us through 4 years really quickly, and we meet Esther and her cousin Mordecai.  Susa today is the city of Shush, Iran.  King Ahasuerus is one name I never say right... oh well, it will be fun to make fun of me trying to say it right... Look how these two, Esther and Mordecai stick together and look out for each other in very hard times. Parents have fun explaining virgin,...

Family storytime.  Maybe best for kids 5 and older, maybe even pre-teens and teens. Easter is a powerful time to focus on truth.  We often don't know history, so we repeat the mistakes that were made before.  Here i ramble a little to bring hope. Also, moving forward, I will tell the story of Esther from the Old Testament.  Gather the family and friends to listen... while practicing social distancing:)
