Genesis 19, part 2 shows us how the Angels have to literal grab the hands of Lot and his family to get them out of their city.  How sin grips us and captures us.  Yet Abraham's prayers are more powerful, enlisting the angels to literally pull Lot and his family out of the way of God's wrath... who are you praying for?

The angel of the Lord comes up for the first time in Genesis 16:7

Here Abraham pleads with God to save the city if only a few righteous are found... first 50, then 45, then all the way down to 10... oh what will happen now?

Here we have the first specific reference in the Bible to the teaching of children, indicating that such instruction is the primary responsibility of the father and should take on the form of commandments, first on the ways of the Lord (righteousness) followed by justice and judgment to fellow-men.

The first 15 verses are very interesting here.  Abraham has these visitors and how this old man runs to greet them and take care of them shows us for sure who this is.   Interesting side note, i will talk about tomorrow if i remember... the word "hard" is the same Hebrew word used in Isaiah 9:6 when talking of the coming messiah, translated into English as "Wonderful".

God can fix that.  God can take our wrongs, he can take what he is disappointed in, and still bless it and use it.  He is mature enough to handle it all.  Can we mature?  Can we be the men of peace God has called us to be?

This is an amazing chapter as God shows His faithfulness even to a servant of Abram's wife Sarai.  This servant is named here in the Bible and to this day, her descendants live Side note, this is the first time the word angel is used

God gives Abram a hint of what he is going to do in and through Abram.  God is still active today working in and through peoples lives.  What is he doing in and through you?

Abram here at the end of Genesis 14, shows that not only is he depending on God Almighty, but that he is not looking for handouts or wealth, he is simply leading his people and relying on God.

Going back to Genesis 14, and looking at some of the details of Abrams counterattack to get back his nephew Lot. Who do you need to win back?  What ground have you given up?  

Genesis 14 tells us the story of the mission of 4 Kings to destroy 5 Kings and in this little war, Lot, the nephew of Abram is taken as a prize.  Abram says, not on my watch, and puts together the first ever Special Ops mission and retrieves his nephew and all of the winnings of the little war.  And then he runs into this odd person, Melchizedek.  

Would you give up the greater or better land to settle a family dispute?  Abram and Lot are family, and there is strife, so you see it is not knew.  Abram prefers his nephew, and God blesses Abram for it.  There is peace in that.

Here we see Abram being a lot like us... sure I believe in God, but I think I know how to handle these things better than God

History was passed down very well, long before media and politics... ok, there was politics back then:) Shem lived long enough that he could have know Isaac when Isaac was in his 30s.

God made mankind.  He did not make different races and we are not evolving into such... we are mankind, and we have gone different ways creating nations, tribes, languages and tongues, but not new races.  

Genesis 9 gives us a variety of things to think about and test.  Could 3 families just 4000 years ago be enough to 1. Populate the planet?  2.  Would there be enough variation of their genes to create the diverse gene pool we have today?  And three, how would the the rainbow be a new thing?  Well glad you asked:)

Noah and his family is on the ark for 373 days.  That is about how long we have been in the Pandemic.  Putting your trust in God is not always easy.  With Him, though we can make it through.

What are you going through right now?  Can you trust God to get you through it?  Noah built an ark as God told him to... for 100 years.  Then when God told him to load it, he did, and then he told him to get on it with his family... that the rain was coming.  Noah obey.  Noah's faith in action. So much to get out of this story, but lets not miss the key element right here in chapter 6.  Man is evil, man has covered the earth, so judgment is coming, but for the one who is righteous, God makes "atonement" a way to block the judgement.  Pitch is 6:14 is also translated atonement, so a pitch to protect the wood from the water... that is an atonement to protect from the judgement. ...

Patrick was an English man, captured by Irish bandits that made him a slave for six or seven years until he escaped by walking 200 miles.  He would return just over 12 years later, a priest, bringing the Gospel to those who had enslaved him.

Through the 1500 years of mans history to this point, (Noah building the Arch), we have a lot of evil things happening.  The number of people could easily be well over a billion people, and demons have come down and helped populate the plant....  and we wonder why we have such crazy stories of old...

God is about the details.  He has made us in His imagine, and He is working His plan to bring about the Messiah.

We, male and female, are made in the likeness (image) of God.  All of us humans are. God's word is so rich... get into it.  Get into it like a favorite song... read a part of it over and over... Psalms 1 or 19... Or Colossians, or Mark.
