Terror in Ten

And we're back! Jimmy reviews the Rutger Hauer classic, The Hitcher. He goes through the history of the movie and also the history of its star. Contains spoilers and strong language.

Hey, welcome to a brand new podcast, from Jimmy and Jen. This is the test/pilot episode of The Vintage Movie Book Club, where we read and review novelisations of movies from the 80s and 90s. The books must have been released at the same time as the movie to qualify. Except this month, where we picked a book based on the fact we both watched the movie again recently. Theme- "Sweeter Vermouth&q...

We dive back into the creature feature, this week, with this occasionally violent 90s movie. If you can see the violence, that is, it's notoriously dark at times but heads get removed from bodies, trust me. There will be no Terror in Ten next week, instead, Jimmy and his friend Jen start a new podcast called The Vintage Movie Book Club in which they read and review movie novelisations from the...

It's Summer, so what better way to celebrate than to review a 70s movie about killer sea life in a resort where someone has to convince the people in charge about the threat, a movie directed by an up and coming young director who would make fan favourite movies in the 80s. Yes, it's Jaws (1975) clone Piranha (1978). Contains strong language. Stay tuned to the end of the episode to hear th...

It's one of those movies that really didn't need sequels yet this year sees the third (technically fourth but that other one had different characters and is supernatural so doesn't count, just like the TV show) movie in the franchise get released! For everyone who wanted to see Ray from this movie with grey hair, wooo! So, Jimmy talks, or should that be rants, about the original I Know...

Hey, it's our second found footage movie! Third if you count Ghostwatch, but I don't, so there. The first movie in a largely non-related trilogy and not really even the best one, this movie nonetheless had some interesting origins and was accompanied by a cool marketing campaign.  Contains strong language and spoilers, obviously. Listen to the end of the episode to hear what the next movie...

Hey, it's a new episode and a new day of release! Happy Friday the 13th and to celebrate, Jimmy is talking about the very first movie in the long running franchise. Stay tuned to the end of the podcast to see what the next episode is. If you want, of course, nothing wrong with being surprised. Like some people are surprised when they discover there are better movies in the series than this one...

It's just after Prom season, so here's a classic from the 70s!  This is one that run over slightly (three mintes is slight, right?) so there may be an extended version some point in the future. Or maybe not, it wasn't that important. What else can be said about this classic movie, the first one based on a Stephen King novel? Nothing, but Jimmy attempts to talk about it anyway! Contains...

We're back! Welcome to season 3 of Terror in Ten and as there is still a new Final Destination movie out there, Jimmy is going to talk about the second entry in the franchise. I say "is going to", like this is live, it's not. Actually had to cut out a couple of minutes to get this thing to ten. That won't be the first time that happens this season, spoilers. Stay tuned to the...

Happy Easter! Here's a movie with eggs in it! This is the finale of season 2, we'll be back in June with Final Destination 2. Contains language and spoilers.

In this week's episode, Jimmy discusses a classic from the 80s that introduced the world to scary killer Freddy Krueger before he became a stand-up comedian. Contains strong language and spoilers, obviously. If you want to know what we're covering next, stay tuned to the end of the episode. Hint- it's from the 70s...

And we're back in the 90s. Just. Jimmy talks about a highly influential found footage movie that, while not being the first, became the most well known. Contains strong language and movie spoilers.  Stay to the end if you want to know what next week's episode is.

It's April! Almost, as I post this but it will be soon. And what best way to celebrate the first of the month with a review of the 1986 slasher (maybe) April Fool's Day. If you haven't seen this movie, I reccomend that you do so first. Contains spoilers, bad language and a trailer for the movie we are covering next.  Visit our website for episodes and blog entries- https://terrorinten....

Welcome, as we head back into the world of Stephen King, or rather, Richard Bachman, with Thinner. A movie with awful characters and hardly anyone to root for but then, it doesn't really ask you to, to be honest. Contains spoilers, bad language and outdated slurs. Stick to the end if you want to find out what the next movie is.

Top o' the morning to ya! To "celebrate", I guess St. Patrick's Day, Jimmy talks about Maniac Cop! It's set around the celebration so, why not? The movie stars genre stawlwarts Bruce Campbell and Tom Atkins and started an okay trilogy. Contains spoilers and strong language. Stay tuned to the end if you want to find out what movie is next.

Sorry Jack, Chucky's back! Jimmy talks about the first (and best?) sequel to the killer doll series. Contains swearing and spoilers. Stay tuned to the end of the podcast if you want to know what the next movie is.    Theme- Creepy by Pecan Pie   Clips from Child's Play 2 property of Universal Pictures.

It's Billy Zane time! Jimmy talks about Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight, the first in a non-trilogy based on the TV show based on the comics. Contains strong language and spoilers. Stay tuned to the end of the episode if you want to know what is getting covered next. Theme- Creepy by Pecan Pie.

We are in the 2000s this week, barely, with this teen slasher movie that doesn't actually have a slasher in it. Contains strong language and inevitable spoilers. Stay tuned to the end to hear a trailer for the next movie.

Okay, so it didn't take long for Jimmy to talk about his favourite horror movie of all time and here it is, The Thing (1982). Contains spoilers and strong language. Stay to the end of the outro if you want to hear a trailer for what movie is next.

This week, Jimmy talks about the Canadian holiday themed slasher My Bloody Valentine and the issues it had with its violence, despite it being a slightly silly but enjoyable little movie. Contains strong language and spoilers galore. Listen to the end for a trailer of next week's episode.

Welcome to series/season/whatever 2 of Terror in Ten and what better way to start a new series/season/whatever than with the sequel to the movie we started series/season/whatever 1 with. Scream 2! After the end credits, stay tuned if you want to know what movie is next. Contains strong language.

It's still Christmas with our last episode of the year and of season 1. Jimmy talks about Gremlins directed by Joe Dante, produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Gizmo. We'll be back in February with season 2. Contains strong language and spoilers.

Merry Christmas! It's the 50th anniversary of this classic which makes it the oldest movie to be covered on the podcast and older than your host! Contains very very very strong language (it begins with the third letter of the alphabet), disturbing sounds and adult themes. Next week, we end the year and the first season of the podcast with Gremlins!

It's time for Mac the maniac vs...ummm...the future Maniac... Elijah Wood was in the remake of Maniac, you see? See??? I'm not good at these things. It's the movie where Macaulay Culkin's dad blackmailed a studio into hiring his (good) son. Next week, it's Black Christmas! Which one? Tune in next week to find out... The original, IT'S THE ORIGINAL! Clips from The Good Son are property of Fox. Them...

This week, Jimmy stays in the 80s to talk about Joel Schumacher's take on Vampires, The Lost Boys which stars not one but two Coreys. Next week's episode is The Good Son (1993).   Clips from The Lost Boys property of Warner Bros. Theme- Creepy by Pecan Pie.
