While living a faithful Christian life can have trials, God has provided all we need to be victorious. Peter offers his final counsel for struggling believers.

Peter is seeking to help churches who are experiencing troubles, persecution and suffering. One of his means of helping believers stay committed is through the church leaders God had given them. But what kind of leaders should they be?

We often think of sufferings as a problem in life, an impediment to our journey, and something we wish would go away. However, Peter encourages us to endure sufferings because of the fruit that can be produced in difficult times. The Christian worldview gives meaning to suffering as it drives us into a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

You may be surprised that faithful Christians can sometimes suffer on account of their faith. Peter wants to help followers of Jesus to maintain their stand for Christ in spite of the challenges.

As Christians we are being transformed into the image of Christ. We reflect this in our interactions within church and outside of the body of Christ.

Living in a hostile environment for Christians can be challenging. Peter wants believers who are foreigners in their society to realize that they are representatives of Christ and live out their faith so that people can be drawn to Jesus.
