There are three things that need to be constant in the lives of believer's. These three things MUST be present in our lives in order to ensure a healthy spiritual life. We must be engaged in fellowship, we must study God's Word, and we must spend time in prayer with our Father in heaven.

This world, this existence is truly not our home. We are to live as aliens and sojourners in this life. But, many times we get comfortable in this life...we tend to slip into what I call, Christian suburbia...we play church instead of being the church. This is not God's will for our lives, He wants to use us as living testimonies of His grace and goodness.

Ezra was a man of the Word. And today Pastor Terry exhorts us to follow Ezra's example. We should be diligent students of the Word of God. Not only for the various places that we might be teaching, but also for our own personal growth and relationship with God.

When you enter a long race, do you start out sprinting? No! If you did that, you wouldn't make it pass the first turn! In a long race, like a marathon, you have to pace yourself. And the most important thing is to NOT stop moving. That's the same way it is for us as Christians. Regardless of the struggle, we need to keep moving on this road of faith.

Complacency is one of the biggest killers in the Body of Christ. It's easy to get into the routine of working through the week and then just coming to church on Sunday morning. That's certainly 'going to church'...but, is it BEING the church? No! God wants a vibrancy in our lives that is seen by all.

Despite what's being taught in many churches today, grace is not only for the saving of souls. Grace is the power to live a holy life. Grace causes us to walk in God's Word. Grace is the source of an obedient life. Grace makes us more like our Savior Jesus.

Meditating on the characteristics of God should bring about one response, genuine and heartfelt worship! Just knowing that the God of the Universe loves you should cause you to lift up praise and worship because He is worthy!

Another tactic of the false teachers today is to say that all you have to do is ask God for something and you will have it, that is...IF you have enough faith. We learn today that God has promised to supply all our needs, not our wants. There's a vast difference between the two.

Have you ever heard a preacher say, If we don't receive your love gift within the next 30 minutes, our ministry will be forced to shut down. GOOD, maybe that's God's will! Statements like this leave the impression that the God that we serve is in need. Don't be deceived Christian, God needs nothing from us!

There's a plethora of things that we can strive for in order to obtain contentment. Some people believe contentment can be found in a good career, a happy marriage, or wealth. While there's nothing wrong with any of these things, contentment simply can't be found in them. Today we learn that true contentment can only be found in Jesus.

Most of marketing in the world today is centered around greed and covetousness. These are both characteristics that are in opposition to contentment. You see, when you're content, there's no need to lust after the things of this world. And the only way this is possible is to find your contentment in Jesus and NOT the things of this world.

Thinking, meditating upon the person and work of our great God and Savior Jesus, is a bullet proof plan when it comes to keeping our minds pure. Our thoughts can only be of lovely, pure, noble, and good things when we think of Jesus. Why? Because He is the very essence of all that is good!

Pastor Terry's exhortation a moment ago is certainly one that each of us needs to carefully heed! We need to guard ourselves from the intrusion of evil education! It's easy to get caught up in the happenings of our world. But, we need to NOT focus on these things...but rather, focus on the good things of God.

It's easy to let our minds wander...especially given the days in which we live...the television and newspapers are full of things that we can worry about! How can we combat this? Pastor Terry encourages us today to be people who regularly commit time to thinking...thinking about our relationship with the LORD and His Word!

When we come to the LORD in prayer, it's easy to let our time with Him become a laundry list of needs. And while it's perfectly acceptable to bring our needs to God, we must be careful to not allow our needs to become complaints. The Israelites made that mistake as they wandered in the wilderness.

There is a God in heaven who created all things and governs all things as we know them! And yet this same all powerful, mighty, and majestic God is interested in even the smallest issues in your life. Don't allow the enemy or a guilty conscience to tell you otherwise! God wants to hear from you, you are special to Him.

Stress has reached almost epidemic proportions these days! Just turn on your television and you'll see at least a few prescriptions that have been created just for this issue. Isn't there a better solution for us? Isn't there another option? YES! Today Pastor Terry will share with us the keys to dealing with stress Biblically.

Have you ever heard the phrase, 'take the low road'? People use this phrase when speaking of the humble approach to a disagreement versus standing up and demanding rights. One of the ways that we can learn to take that low road is to remember all that we put Jesus through because of our sin...in that light, humility comes natural.
