There are a lot of people out there that see going to church on Sunday as the end of their religious expression. But, the truth is, our lives must be completely centered around the person of Christ. Once this change takes place, all that we see and know if then filtered through that lens...the lens of Messiah and His Word.

It seems like this world and all it's entrapment

This world in which we live can sometimes discourage us from doing what God has called us to do. God may open doors for you to share His love with someone only to meet rejection. Christian, don't be discouraged, continue to be faithful to declare the Good News of Jesus Christ to those around you.

Even those that seem unloveable can be loved when we stop and consider what God has done for us...how much He loves us. Today Pastor Terry will remind us of the parable that Jesus taught about forgiveness. We need to always remember that God loved us so much that He gave His one and only Son to die in our place.

Sin is something that each and every person in this earth must deal with...there's no way around it. And as we just heard from Pastor Terry...our sin has been taken care of. That is, IF you put your faith in Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior.

Emotions certainly are a gift from God. In many ways, emotions are how we express ourselves to one another. But, the enemy knows that he can take our emotions and twist into something God never intended. And that's just what Terry was just talking about...sometimes our emotions even deceive us to the point, that we don't believe that we're even saved!

There's a miraculous occurrence in the life of one who comes to God through faith in Jesus. The heart is changed from one of hatred to a heart filled with God's love. And God's love is understood through His Word. We know that loving God is obeying His Word.

Hatred for God's Word and His instruction for our lives motivates some of the most wicked behavior known to man. Today we'll consider the Cain and how his hatred and jealousy towards his brother Able motivated him to the point of murder. And don't be deceived, Jesus said the same wickedness is in our hearts.

There have been quite a few different opinions as to what John is talking about in chapter three regarding sin and the Christian. If we sin, do we lose our salvation? Or does that mean we were never saved? Today Pastor Terry teaches us what God's heart is regarding this matter...a Christian simply cannot live a life of habitual sin.

In 1 John chapter three...it says that if we abide in God, we CAN NOT sin!!! Stop and ask yourself, have I sinned today? If you're honest, the resounding answer will be, YES!!! So, what is the Holy Spirit trying to tell us through these verses? Today Pastor Terry will continue explaining the heart of this text.

There's a singular event in history that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that God loves the world...the death of His Son, Jesus Christ. Imagine allowing your own son to be killed in the place of someone who hated you and your son? It's unthinkable!!! And yet, that's exactly what God did for you and for me.

God certainly uses teachers of the Word of God to further His kingdom. But, how do we know which ones to listen to? Today we learn that God didn't leave us to figure this out on our own. He gave us His Holy Spirit that gives us discernment to know the difference. The Holy Spirit will show you through God's Word what is right and wrong.

Who is Jesus? This is a question that must be answered. As we just heard from Pastor Terry...anyone speaking about Jesus in any other way than what the Scriptures depict are speaking in the same manner as the antichrist will speak. Jesus is the Son of God and He is the only way to heaven...PERIOD!

The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life are the three temptations that were presented to Eve in the garden. And they were obviously enough...they brought about the fall of mankind. And the enemy of our souls hasn't changed his game plan. He still uses these same tactics to entice believer's to stray from God's plan.

If you exist in a state of hate towards those around you, you cannot be saved and cannot enter heaven! WOW! That sounds like a pretty harsh statement doesn't it? But, it's true. Today we'll learn that God's Word defines those who are saved as those who love and do not hate their brothers and sisters.

One of the amazing benefits of being a recipient of the new covenant is the fact that God's Law is written on your heart! An external set of rules could never guide and direct your life. You need God's Word inside of you and you need His Holy Spirit to empower you to live victoriously obedient!

There's a doctrine out there that says that if you happen to commit a sin at the moment of your death, well...your eternity is secure...secure in hell that is! Is that true? Is that what the Bible teaches? No! The pattern of our lives needs to be one that is proven by progressive obedience to God's Word, not perfection.

There can be no mistake about it...when you receive Jesus as your LORD and Savior, you're saved...you destiny is eternity with God! But, that doesn't negate the fact you will sin in this life. And probably one of the greatest blessings of all is the fact that you can be forgiven by simply admitting and confessing your sin to God.

Confession should be a major part of the life of a healthy believer. When we come in contact with the righteous standard of God's Word, it's inevitable...we will see our sinfulness. But, what we do with that understanding is more important than simply knowing. Just knowing you've sinned, isn't enough...you must go to God and ask Him to forgive you.

Do you know the answer to Pastor Terry's question a moment ago? How can we, sinful humans, even enter into a relationship with a God as Holy, Righteous, and Pure as the God of the Bible? The book of 1 John is full of answers to this question. The one simple answer is that we must be clean and forgiven...but how?

Even though it might feel like no one understands and no one knows what you're going through, there is One who does. Jesus! He came to this earth as a man and experienced everything that you and I would experience and yet He never sinned. So, next time you find yourself in a tight spot, remember that Jesus has been there too!

Jesus has no beginning and no end. Why? Because He is God! He is the Creator of the Universe! God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are all one. This is something that was being challenged during John's time and required him to stand up for the truth.

Ezra was a man of the Word. And today Pastor Terry exhorts us to follow Ezra's example. We should be diligent students of the Word of God. Not only for the various places that we might be teaching, but also for our own personal growth and relationship with God.
