Wealth is something that people spend their entire lives working for. And yet the LORD can impart wealth to someone in an instant. Now the wealth of the world is not the same as the wealth of God's kingdom. The point is this...what is your heart position towards your finances? Are you trusting God with your finances or are you running the show?

There is no such thing as evangelistic dating. If you're listening today and you've become romantically involved with someone that isn't saved with hopes that they will be born again through your relationship...you are headed for serious problems. God has commanded us to be yoked with those who profess the name of Jesus.

The next time you decide to donate something to your local church...stop and ask yourself, is this something that if I were standing face to face with the Creator of the Universe, I would feel comfortable giving Him? Oftentimes, God receives our second best...rather than our first fruits which actually come from Him.

In the last couple of broadcasts of Summons Pastor Terry has been drawing out headlines that you and I could read in the newspapers today that were written thousands of years ago in the book of Zechariah. We know that Jesus will rule and reign from the city of Jerusalem just as it is spoken of in His Word.

Today we continue considering the seeming future headlines that exist in the book of Zechariah. One of the prophecies that we know that is yet to be fulfilled is the salvation of the Nation of Israel. As we just heard from Pastor Terry...there's coming a time when the people of Israel will recognize Jesus as their Messiah, their Savior.

As we'll hear from Pastor Terry today...the last three chapters of the book of Zechariah could read like modern day headlines. And that's just how Pastor Terry will approach the text. We'll begin today looking at five different headlines that seem to exist in these chapters of Zechariah that have happened or are happening right before our very eyes.

Considering the middle east right now and specifically the land of Israel, it's hard to believe that there will EVER be peace there. And yet we know that the false messiah, the anti-christ will somehow broker a deal that will bring peace. However, we know that TRUE peace will never come to Israel until they receive Jesus as LORD and Savior.

There are those who question the divinity of Jesus because they don't believe that He ever received worship as God. But, they fail to consider when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey. The people then proclaimed Him to be the Messiah of Israel and worshiped Him as Savior!

The prophet Zechariah spoke much about the coming Messiah, Jesus. Some of the specific prophecies in the book of Zechariah are absolutely astounding in their accuracy. Like the one we just heard a moment ago...that Jesus would come into Jerusalem riding on a donkey and history proves that He in fact, did.

I don't know about you, but I can hardly wait for the future that Pastor Terry described a moment ago! A time when Jesus will rule and reign here on earth...there will be peace and safety because the King of Kings and the LORD of LORDS will be here. It's easy to echo the words of John...even so, LORD COME QUICKLY!!!

The most important thing to God is our hearts. We can portray all sorts of religious convictions...but, is that what's in our heart? Do I walk with God so that others will notice or do I walk with God because I love Him? Pastor Terry's exhortation is one we need to consider...is your life with God just ritual or a daily relationship?

Man-made rituals and traditions will not earn you a special place in heaven. Even if those rituals and traditions are intending to honor God. The Bible is full of directions as to how we're supposed to live as Christians. Maybe we should just read what the Bible says and KEEP those traditions rather than the traditions of man!

The voice of the enemy seems constant at times. He's always tries to condemn those that confess the name of Jesus as LORD. But, keep in mind that the enemy of our souls was completely defeated at the cross. There's coming a time when that victory will be realized and he will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity.

It's easy to slip into the religious routine...attempting to serve God in our own strength. But as we just heard from Pastor Terry, this is impossible. We need to rely on the endless power of the Holy Spirit as the driving force behind all that we do for God. We can come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain help in our time of need.

Although there are many people out there that might disagree, God is not finished with His chosen people Israel. In fact, we're learning throughout the minor prophets that there is still much to be fulfilled in this nation. We know that there is coming a time in the not too distant future where all of Israel will look upon the One they have pierced and declare Him to be Messiah.

Did you hear that Christian? Pastor Terry's exhortation from the Scriptures today is to GET TO WORK! Get out there and begin doing the things that you know God has called you to do. Reject the voice of the lying enemy who says it's all up to you. God will never ask you to do something that He doesn't plan on providing all that you need to do it.

Remember back when you were first saved...how God seemed to move in every situation? Now, fast forward to the present...is that how your walk with Him is now? If not, you may have slipped into a religious rut. God wants us to be present in the here and now, ready and willing to serve Him in any way He asks of us.

The Christian life is not meant to be stagnant. In fact, as servants of God, we should be laboring for the furtherance of God's will in the here and now. It's easy to become complacent and lazy as Christians. Pastor Terry will exhort us today to get up off the religious couch and get working for the LORD!

There's coming a time in the seemingly not too distant future where the nation of Israel will look upon the One who they have pierced and place their faith in Him. They will declare that Jesus is Messiah. There will be one family of believer's before God. Both Jews and Gentiles will worship Jesus as the King of Kings and the LORD of LORDS!

What you just heard a moment ago from Pastor Terry is just one example of the hundreds of prophecies in the Word of God that have already been fulfilled. Prophecies that have been fulfilled according to the Scriptures are one of the best ways to increase our faith. God has proven Himself time and again and He will continue to as future prophecies are fulfilled.

The book of Zephaniah is often overlooked in the Scriptures. Today Pastor Terry begins by sharing with us some of the very significant events that are foretold in the this important book. Remember, all Scripture is profitable for us as Christians. We need to be able to open the Word of God and grow from anything that we read.

In the last couple of broadcasts Pastor Terry has been sharing with us the importance of understanding how we are made righteous. And we've learned that it's through no works of our own. So, what is the place of works in the life of a Christian? Works are a natural response of a saved person...works can never save...the saved person simply walks in the works that God has prepared for them.

God's Law is a fixed standard that cannot be changed or altered in anyway. What God has called sin...is sin. And just as we heard from Pastor Terry a moment ago, when we attempt to create our own standard for righteousness, all manner of unrighteousness is actually the result.

The righteous standard of God's Word doesn't need much explaining. We can simply open the Bible and learn what God has said is sin. We're left with a difficult problem to solve...? What do we do when we break one of God's commandments? Who can we turn to? Thankfully, we can turn to the LORD Jesus Christ!

Despite what you might have heard on the tv or here on the radio, once you accept Jesus as your Savior, the difficulties don't just disappear. God never promised us that our lives here on earth would be a bed of roses. But, He did promise us to never leave us or forsake us.
