When Square wants to go against the grain, weird stuff happens. Parasite Eve first, and then Vagrant Story. Created as a new spinoff title set in Ivalice, VS is an action game, with puzzles, magic, and a unique setting and dark story. Despite this, it is a very confusing game at times. This is a game so old school, it started to hurt me to play near the end. In a world where a lot of QoL if now taken into account, a game like this can be a problem to deal with over a long stretch.
