For our third Sunday of Advent, we look at the themes which emerge from Mary's song, Elizabeth's faith, John's birth, and Zechariah's prophecy.

Today we see how God chose to use Mary, and how because the story is His, and not our own, nothing is impossible. 

As we begin our 2023 Advent series, we mark how the heart of God the Father is displayed in the gift of a son to Zechariah and Elizabeth.  (Note: The audio had to be pulled from our live stream due to an error with our audio recording device. The cavernous echo is a bug, not a feature.)

Today we settle into Psalm 138 and seek to understand how our soul comforts are tied to our gratitude. 

A visit to the Psalms yields the consolation we have in the promise of a life to come. 

As we finish Colossians, we see a final charge to the church to conduct ourselves with wisdom toward those who have not yet embraced Jesus by faith, and why it matters. 

As we move along through Paul's final four instructions in Colossians, we pause to note our need for wisdom. 

Today we look at all the incentive we have to pray.

Today we look at the warning for abusive leaders, and the right way to disobey. 

To really apply Colossians 3:20-24, we need to appreciate the whole concept of authority, who really has authority, Who we're obeying, and why. 

Today we take a look at some things you can do if your marriage is already maimed by failing to do Colossians 3:18-19. 

Today we tackle the other side of the marriage and the corresponding obligation. 

As we finish our study of the Biblical view of wives, we see three more things worth noting. 

Today we embark on a journey to understand how Christian families are supposed to function. Beginning with wives, we seek to understand to whom this text is directed, and more generally, the Biblical view of women. 

Moving into verses 16 and 17, we see how the word of God is essential to our peace individually. 

As we explore Colossians 3:15, we must consider what it means that peace is the possession of Christ, is not our servant, but our umpire, and is not in our circumstances. 

Today we get a refresher on the definition of love, and why this is the top layer of the Christian's new clothing.  *Note: The audio is pulled from our live stream this week due to an error with our recording. Apologies for the cavernous echo. 

As we continue through Colossians 3, we stop and consider what it means to bear with one another, and probably the best motivation. 

As we continue to investigate the effects of genuine conversion, we learn what clothing befits a Christian heart. 

Today we consider the reason there cannot exist ethnic, class, or any other divisions among the members of our church.

The way to spiritual maturity, sanctification, personal holiness, or "good clean living" involves rightly identifying dangerous enemies. Paul's list in Colossians helps us understand what these enemies are actually named. 

Today we see why we can't domesticate remaining sin, and must learn to kill it. 

Realistic expectations about this life are essential to keep us seeking things above where Christ is.

As we finish chapter 2 of Colossians, we see how our death in Christ changes what things we are subject to.
