For our final advent message, we look at why Jesus had to be born under such ignoble circumstances. 

For our third Advent Sunday, we look at Mary's visit with Elizabeth, and consider how we can have joy in the midst of real difficulty and sorrow.

As we wrap up chapter 2, we take note of Moses' diminishment, and the fact that it is his decrease, not his strength, talents, or giftedness that makes him suitable for God to use. 

As we move through Exodus 2, and see Moses taking matters into his own hands, we mark the direction he forgot to look.  Today's message was followed by a devotional from James Degner prior to Lord's Supper. That audio begins at 31 minutes. 

As we move into Exodus 2, we note that God still does not speak, yet clearly is still at work, and mark the imagery painted by Moses being drawn out of the water. 

Today we consider the government of Egypt, her foul practices, and how God overruled the evil of men. We take these considerations as motivation to be salt and light in our own generation. 

As we continue the history of Israel in Exodus, we take note of Joseph's end, and consider how it relates to us. 

Today we complete our introduction to Exodus by seeking to appreciate the point of these events in Joseph's life, and applying that point to our own lives. 

As we examine the narrative of Joseph's brothers' trip to Egypt, we consider the picture of our own unwillingness to deal with some things that this story paints. 

Today we work through chapter 40, see how much Joseph has changed since his time in his father's house, and mark how God uses circumstances to grow us. 

As we continue the story of Joseph, we mark the fact that God was with Joseph in slavery and in prison, and not because of anything in Joseph. 

Today we begin our series on The Exodus by looking at Joseph's story, so that we can understand how God's people ended up in need of rescue from slavery.  The sermon is followed by a Lord's Supper devotional from Matt Mathison. That audio begins at exactly the 41 minute mark. 

As we close the epistle, we consider what our obligation is to those who are ensnared by sin and temptation, and a final warning against idols. 

Today we went back over the last three weeks in 1 John, and added observations where we missed them. 

Today we break from 1 John to hear from the Shepherd as we prepare for baptisms and baby dedication, and make our way through the fifth Psalm. 

Today we consider the blessing of assurance, and how we might gain it. 

Life or death is a matter of what you believe about Jesus. 

Today we begin the fifth chapter of 1 John, and take note of the monumental importance of the new birth, and the somewhat unexpected outcome. 

Today we consider what God is, what God has, and what God does, in view of the remainder of 1 John 4.  After the message, Lee Smith brought our Lord's Supper devotional.
