Spoil Me

Thank you to Melanie for commissioning these episode of Gravity Falls! I'm glad that I'm getting the special treatment because of the shortness of each episode, so that I can watch more than one of them at a time. These episodes are both really fun, but for me the second one about the wax model of Grunkle Stan being "murdered" is the one that really stands out. Although, the previous episode is th...

Huge thanks to Jill for commissioning this episode of Dark, a show that is rapidly becoming one of my favorite Spoil Me! projects. This episode, we get to follow poor Mikkel around as he tries to sort out where he is, what happened to him, where his parents are, and what the fuck he should do next. It kills me that there's this moment where it seems like him and his father almost connect one last...

Thank you again to Jill for commissioning another episode of this weird-ass, complicated show. First off, here's the link to the very helpful website that I mention in this recording. I don't know about you all, but I really needed the assistance with remembering who was connected to who, and what their names were, and where they fall in the scheme of things. https://metawitches.com/2019/02/15/dar...

I want to thank Jill, who commissioned the first five episodes of Dark, for getting me into this show with a swiftness and consistency that I suspect is going to be very important as things continue. This first episode is really a whole fucking lot. There's moving pieces everywhere, and there's a whole slew of characters that I have to learn and keep track of, so I hope that you can all bear with...

Huge HUGE thank you to Robin for commissioning this whole book, and I'm also super mad at you for leaving me with this ending and no followup book to ease my poor aching brain after finishing this absolute bonkers finale. I can't even figure out where to start with this blurb, because holy shit what the fuck? We've got ghosts getting eaten, we've got other worlds in which there are dolphin people...

Thank you again to Robin for commissioning this episode! I just realized that I'm only one episode away from the end of the book, and I'm completely unsure how this can possibly get wrapped up in a satisfactory manner. I'm LOVING this banana-pants book so far, though. I am actually remembering to post all of the links that Robin sent me, and I hope that you all will check them out! Robin, I'm past...

Huge thank you to Patricia for commissioning the next episode of this Diana Wynne Jones book, because I'm really needing some comfort lately and this writing is just the ticket. This section, we get a very interesting set of facts and new experiments to puzzle over. First of all, there's the fact that Christopher isn't actually hurt when he comes out of the other world, but he does get "killed" in...

Many thanks to Denise for commissioning this episode! I'm so glad that this episode will be followed by a few others coming up, because this story (while always fascinating) is really starting to pick up steam. In these chapters, we've got a lot more information about everything that has been happening with Nassun. It's really something that I'm as invested in Nassun as I am, because I really didn...

Thank you so much to Robin for commissioning this episode! I'm getting really really invested in this story, and I'm dying to know where we're going with all this weirdness. These chapters are full of extra super duper weirdness, because Sarah shows up, and wherever she goes things seem to get uncomfortable fast. She's devastated because her fireflies are gone, and it turns out that some creepy me...

Thank you Melanie so much for commissioning the next chapter of The Time Of Contempt! This is when things start to heat up because we go back to Ciri's point of view. Ciri, despite being very impressed with her mentor, still doesn't really trust Triss's judgement on what is best. She hears that there's a sick-ass magic school she's going to get dropped off at, and while that sounds like the raddes...

Thank you so much to Martin for commissioning this new book! I'm very excited to be getting into this strange world and I'm totally here for a weird chick who is bad at making friends and really good at really specific things. This episode we get a little bit of Nona's history, which is rather bleak and makes being bought and sold like a sack of potatoes an actual improvement. Nona has only ever h...

Thank you to Robin for commissioning this episode! I'm so glad to be back on this book, because it's got such a bizarre plot that I've found myself thinking about it a million times over the past few weeks. In these chapters, I go back and cover what I missed on my last sick day episode, and then move on to talking about the total weirdness of Jared leaving his body and bouncing around on the ceil...

Huge thanks to Devin for getting us back on track with High Wizardry! I'm so delighted to be back in this world, because the way the magic works is absolutely fascinating. This time, we spend some more time with Dairine, and we get to see exactly what happened in the house while Kit and Nita were in the backyard. She was able to access some pretty serious magic via a mysterious computer program, a...

Hey there, everyone! Melanie has commissioned the start of the next book in the Witcher series, so here I am with The Time Of Contempt! This book has the same dense political background as the other, but I'm feeling a lot more sure-footed this time because of having done a bit of studying thanks to Melanie's resources, and paying really close attention during the last book. This time around, we do...

Many thanks to the delightful Ashleigh for commissioning the start of the next book by Trudi Canavan! This book takes place way back, far far before the timelines in the original Black Magician Trilogy, before the Guild was ever even formed. It's curious to see how unstructured things were and how little was understood about magic at this time, and the idea that Tessia would have to give up her pu...

Huge thanks to Abbey for commissioning this entire book! Goddamn! This is the final section, and I'm really intrigued by the mystery of what happens with both Mogget and Kerrigor in the end. I can't figure out what this could mean for Sabriel in the future other than that she now has two cats with too much knowledge and bad attitudes whose litterboxes she has to clean. There were some things that...

Such huge thanks to Melanie for commissioning this episode! For those interested, you can watch me watching this for the first time on Facebook Live at facebook.com/unspoiledpod This was nothing I expected, and I mean that in a good way. I had no idea it was animated, I had no idea it would be so funny, and I didn't know how many GIFs and reaction memes were based on moments from this show. Overal...

First of all, I owe yet another commissioner an apology. I am beginning to think that I know why so may episodes failed to upload the way they were supposed to right before I went on vacation, but it doesn't matter because I should have checked on it and made sure everything was right. So my apologies to Abbey, because I recorded this episode close to a month ago and I thought it had gone out. The...

Oh lordy, y'all. I done messed up. Between this episode and a Deadwood episode that was meant to go up a month ago at this point, somehow I totally dropped the ball. Huge apologies to Rachel for my lateness!

Oh boy, it's time for another new show! I am excite! Thank you so much to Michael for commissioning this episode! He has gone on to commission episode 2, but I'm booked so far ahead that there will be about a month long wait, so please bear with me! This episode was really interesting, and leads to me theorizing wildly about what some of the rules and ethics of time traveling in this specific fash...

I can't believe it's over. Enormous thanks to Patrick for commissioning Deadwood. I know it sounds dramatic, but watching this show has reminded me of why I started podcasting in the first place. It's been a long time since anything has engaged and surprised me the way this show has, and I'm not going to rest until everyone I love has watched this so that I can gush about it with them. I'm so glad...

Sooooo this was scheduled and for some reason never posted? Gah. Sorry everyone.

Huge thanks to Melanie for commissioning the final episode of Deep Wizardry! As it happens, there was only about 10 pages left, so this episode will also contain coverage of the first 2 chapters of High Wizardry! It has been a minute since I covered the previous chapters of this book so I hope that you can forgive me for re-covering the final chapter before the ones talked about for this episode....

First of all, I need to apologize to Robin for this episode. I made an effort to record a tad earlier after being sick than I should have, and this resulted in my voice being absolutely shot after about 40 minutes. I wanted so badly to finish, but I straight-up could not make sounds, so I had to cut out early. I promise I will make it up to you, Robin! There's an extra 20 minutes coming at you in...

Thank you to Patrick for commissioning this episode! Except no thank you, and I hate you, and I hate this show, and everyone can pretty much go to hell. Honestly, there's only a handful of characters that I love so much on this show that I would react this way to their death, and they zeroed in on the exact one that hurts the most. I'm totally bereft. The whole setup of the death, as well, and the...
