God is doing more than we realize in and through us to spread His glory.

Our first, and foremost, core value is to Celebrate the Gospel – that Christ Jesus came into the world to save us from our sin.

“Sing, bless, tell and declare” are all commands in Psalm 96. The good life God gifts to us includes singing songs to declare his greatness and beauty to people who don’t yet know his greatness and beauty.

The kind of blessings God’s people should seek from the King of heaven when the kings of earth are wicked.

In Psalm 95 the psalmist calls God's people to worship him with exuberance, reverence and urgency. Encouraging one another to "sing to the Lord" and "make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!" leads to wholehearted worship.

In the face of trial and hardship we can have both real hope in a worthwhile future and real purpose in the present.

Amidst the chaos, confusion and uncertainty that life often brings, Psalm 93 says that we can trust the Lord who reigns to provide refuge, permanence and stability.

God’s people need Sabbath rest. Psalm 92 describes how God enables His people to properly rest and tell the world about Jesus by observing the Sabbath.

Psalm 91 describes the depth of fellowship, protection and assurance for all those who take comfort in the God of Refuge.

Psalm 90 speaks to us in our discouragement, despair and weariness. Moses expresses deep discouragement as he reflects on the faithlessness of God’s people and the toil and trouble they experience in their brief span of life. Yet he maintains hope that God’s everlasting love will bring ultimate joy and gladness.

Psalm 89 presses into the question, How is it that the faithful God seems in history to have broken faith with His covenant people?

Psalm 88 is a lament for a person overwhelmed with the troubles of life to the point of despair. The psalm teaches Christians how to experience spiritual despair faithfully in light of the new covenant in Christ.

On Pentecost Sunday we celebrate God’s gift of the Holy Spirit and rejoice in the many ways the Spirit moves in our hearts and through the church to speak the word of God and do the works of God.

Despite our efforts to capture God’s glory for ourselves, Jesus teaches that true peace and happiness in this world are only possible by giving glory to God through the cross.

The reality of Christ and his resurrection breaks through our cynicism, overcoming the nagging suspicion in our hearts that heaven is too good to be true.

In John 14, Jesus reassures His disciples, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me” and shapes in them a heavenly mindset that empowers prayer in a world full of doubt.

John 10 is a lesson about the leader who must be followed in a world where human leaders disappoint.

The gospel writer Luke wrote a reliable, sufficient account for generations of people who would never have first-hand encounters with Jesus so that they would encounter the truth, believe and be saved. “When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him” (Luke 24:30-31).

After his resurrection from the dead, Jesus came to his disciples and said to them, “Peace be with you.” His peace gives us freedom from fear and doubt, and freedom for purpose.

Palm Sunday is a celebration of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem of the promised Messiah and the Son of God who had come to bring peace. The apostle and gospel writer John writes that by believing in Jesus, the long-awaited King who defends the vulnerable, gathers the broken and exhausts violence, we “may have life in his name” (John 20:31).

The turning point in Jesus' life can become a turning point in our lives–marked by Jesus' invitation to us to come, see and walk, and the opportunity he gives to go and share.

The apostle Paul concludes 1 Thessalonians reinforcing the importance of the Church being marked by holiness as it awaits the second coming of Christ, a theme introduced earlier in the letter (1 Th. 3:12). This time he adds these reassuring words: “He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it” (1 Th. 5:24).

There are obstacles to faith in Christ that all of us face – intellectual, social and personal. Overcoming them is key to knowing God and being assured of eternal life.
